Before we start the interview, let’s refresh your memory about Nalini.

Let’s now talk to Nalini.

Interview blue:black

TRC:   Hi Nalini. Thank you for taking the time to revisit us at The Reading Cafe, to discuss your new release Heart of Obsidian, as well as to give us an update as to what you have in store for us in 2013.

Nalini: Thanks for having me!

TRC:  You have just released the 12th book in your Psy/Changeling series.  For those who may not have read this series, would you please give us a brief description of the premise of the series?

Nalini: The Psy-Changeling series is set in a world with three races:

The Psy, who have phenomenal powers of the mind, such as telekinesis and telepathy, but who have conditioned emotions out of themselves in an effort to fight the murderous insanity that stalks them.

The changelings, who are true shapeshifters, as at home in their animal forms as they are in their human form. The two main packs in the series are the DarkRiver Leopards and the SnowDancer Wolves. In contrast to the Psy, the changelings are very tactile and emotional, and blood loyal to their families, lovers, and packs.

Caught between the Psy and the changelings, humans are the weakest of the three races on the surface, but they have an important role to play as the series continues.

Heart of ObsidianTRC: Heart of Obsidian will be released next week, June 4th.  Without revealing all the secrets that have been kept under wrap, while we have been impatiently waiting, can you give us a brief description of this book?  🙂

Nalini: By the time this interview goes live, a two chapter preview of the book will have been posted, so your readers can go straight there to have a read! (http://www.nalinisingh.com/obsidian.php)

The events of this book will slam through the Psy-Changeling world for some time to come. It is a critical episode in the series.

TRC: Ok, I’m going to try.  Will Heart of Obsidian reveal who is Ghost?  You do not have to tell us who it is, just a little crumb if we will finally find out who he is?  🙂

Nalini: Yes, you will – in an unexpected way in my opinion. 🙂

TRC:  YES🙂

TRC: The last time you were here, you said there was an end to this series arc.  Can you give us an update on this, since this is the 12th book; how many more do we have to look forward to?

Nalini: In my head, I foresee 2-3 more books to end this arc (I’m not sure if 2 books will be enough to tie up all the threads, which is why it might be 3. I won’t know until I sit down to write the books).

However, after that, there will still be plenty to explore in this world and I hope readers will be as interested in doing that as I am.

TRC: We always want to stay in your world.  🙂

TRC: What are your thoughts in regards to continuing the premise of Psy/Changeling with your new arc, and will we still get to see those wonderful characters that we have come to love?

Nalini: Yes, absolutely. I love the sense of family in the series, and I couldn’t totally walk away from all my beloved characters – though you will also be spending time in new places, and meeting new people.

TRC: Upcoming in October, 2013, you will release your 6th Guild Hunter book, would you please tell us the premise of Archangel’s Legion?

Archangels LegionNalini: The blurb of Archangel’s Legion is now out! (www.nalinisingh.com/legion.php)

It begins with angels falling from the sky in New York and continues with rivers of blood – Elena and Raphael have a hard, brutal fight on their hands to save their city, but through it all, they work together as a single beating unit.

You’ll also get to see a lot more of Illium, Aodhan, and Naasir in particular.

TRC: What are you currently working on?

Nalini: I’m preparing for my USA/London book tour in June, so I’m working on a few smaller pieces, and making notes for my next Psy-Changeling book, which I’ll begin to write after the tour.

TRC: Thank you, Nalini for answering our questions. We look forward to continuing to read your books, and to work with you in the future.

Nalini: Thanks for the wonderful interview!

  1. Welcom back, Nalini. Thanks for this update. I can’t wait for next tuesday. I’ve been talking to some of my friends who love your series also, and the guessing game is on as to who is Ghost.

  2. Welcome back Nalini. It’s nice to have authors back and catch us up on what they have been doing. U are on my tbr list and I have to say w all the excitement surrounding this ghost character I’m just as antsy to find out who he is and I still need to read this series. 😉
Wish I could throw my name into this giveaway but I can’t don’t live in the US

    • *tapping my foot*

Marcie Mouse…..we have been through this…..you are NOT allowed to be privy to “secrets” when it comes to mysterious characters BEFORE you read the series, and suffer like the rest of us. *snort*

And WHY are you waiting so long to read this series?!?!?!!! I must be losing my influence over you…..Read the books! Dooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

But NO peaking ahead on who the Ghost is when you do!

*lowering my voice* Although I could tell you who he is right now….I have been telling people for months….no body listens to me. I guess they know how crappy I am at following “clues” *COUGH*

  3. Great interview. I have read and love the Guild Hunter Series but I have not read the Psy series yet. It is on my list of books to get I’m just going to have to start with book 1.

    • I love love Nalini. Did I say love. lol
This series is so great, I cannot get enough of it. I don’t ever want it to end. The characters are like our family. Darn wouldn’t it be nice to have friends like shifters in Dark River or Snow Dancer. 🙂

  5. Oh Barb, what an interview! These are two of my favorite series! I also cannot get enough of these characters! I love both the psy/changling and the arch angel series! I think I pre-ordered HOB, but can’t remember…imagine that! LOL

Nalini, thanks so much for talking with us and I can’t wait to find out who ghost is! I have my suspicions of course…LOL Can’t wait for the next Arch Angel book as well!

  6. Well I think it has all be said already,

Ok I’m really excited for June 4th , Love you reads Nalini and thanks for all the journeys I get to go on when I am reading one of your books.

  7. Thanks Nalini for catching us up on what’s happening in 2013. I am a BIG fan of The Guild Hunters series and am desperate for Archangel’s Legion…we NEED a baby from Raphael and Elena. 😉

  8. Hi Nalini, thanks for coming. Rereading Tangle of Need before the new release. Love the Psych world. Your description of the worlds make it very easy to visualize. Late getting into the series but I’ve enjoyed the ride.

  9. Great interview ladies! Thank you so much Nalini for catching us up with what’s going on in your corner of the world!!! Can’t wait for Obsidian!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Hi Nalini thank you for coming. Will be getting this book. I have to get a lot of the prior books to have all he series. Have only read a few.

  11. *grabbing Barb and jumping up and down in a circle, squee-ing like a little kid*

Its almost June 4th!!!! And I know who the hero is of this book! I am so freakN excited I cant even contain myself!

*cough* Ok….calming down….not really…but I can pretend for a moment that I am not totally obsessed with thoughts of Heart of Obsidian. Which I totally am not…obsessed that is…*choke*

Moving on, amazing interview Barb! Welcome back to TRC Ms. Singh. It is always a treat to hear from you. I fall onto my knees in gratitude to finally get to say “I told you so” when the Ghost identity is revealed in this installment…errr….I mean…when I find out who the Ghost is, because to be honest, I haven’t given his identity much thought….*using a ire extinguisher on my pants*

Ok. I will go away now. *snort*

    • *FIRE extinguisher…

Geez….what the heck would the purpose of an “ire” extinguisher be? Its not like pants have any reason to be upset over anything….

Ok….I really am going away now. I promise I will be my normal serious self the next time I post. If Barb and Sandy allow me back next time that is. *grin*

      • LOL you are so funny, Miranda. I know how much you love Nalini, as we constantly talk about it. But you do look kind of frazzled having to wait for this book so long 😉

        • Psssst.

Ms. Barb…..it’s the hero of this book….I swore to Judd Lauren that I would NEVER love another male from this series more than him….and (insert you know who’s name here) keeps trying to make me break my oath…and I haven’t even read the book yet!

It’s just not normal how anxious I am to read this book. I’ve never even anticipated a Terry Goodkind book to this level. You know me, and what that says about my excitement for Heart of Obsidian.

I have already attempted to warn my friends and family that I have very important business to attend on June 4th…and that I cannot be held accountable for how rude I become if anyone dares disturb me. *laughing*

  12. Thank you for doing a USA tour, Ms. Singh! I love your characters. They make me want to really live in their world with them! Plus, how cool would it be to actually make your mate purr in human form. 😉

  13. Thanks for the great interview. I am still smiling after reading Miranda’s comments. I am thinking of taking the day off too, I want NO interruptions while reading HofO!!

    • Thats what I am saying. If the UPS man is late on June 4th….just like the blurb on the backcover….it truly WILL be the day of reckoning! I might get arrested if I have to wait one. more. moment. longer for this book than absolutely neccessary. I will let you know if I need bail money Jules. Hee.

      • You are both funny. I moved my vacation to this week so I can start reading it early morning on the 4th. This is such a great series, we all want to change our plans to read this

  14. Wonderful interview! I have not had the pleasure to read this series yet, though I do have several of the books. I have heard fabulous things about it!
    Have a wonderful tour, Nalini!
