Genre: contemporary, adult, romance
ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 23, 2013
He’ll teach her how to bring a man to his knees…
Dr. Ellie Swan has a plan: open her practice in tiny Bluelick, Kentucky, so she can keep an eye on her diabetic father, and make hometown golden-boy Roger Reynolds fall in love with her. But Ellie has a problem. Roger seeks a skilled, sexually adventurous partner, and bookish Ellie doesn’t qualify.
Tyler Longfoot only cares about three things: shaking his bad boy image, qualifying for the loan his company needs to rehab a piece of Bluelick’s history, and convincing Ellie to keep quiet about the “incident” that lands him on her doorstep at two a.m. with a bullet in his behind.
The adorable Dr. Swan drives a mean bargain, though. If sex-on-a-stick Tyler will teach Ellie how to bring a man to his knees, she’ll forget about the bullet. Armed with The Wild Woman’s Guide to Sex and Tyler’s lessons, Ellie is confident she can become what Roger needs…if she doesn’t fall for Tyler first.
REVIEW: PRIVATE PRACTICE is the first installment in Samanthe Beck’s adult, contemporary Private Pleasures erotic romance series focusing on the people of Bluelick, Kentucky. This is Dr. Ellie Swan and home renovation expert Tyler Longfoot’s storyline.
The premise focuses on Ellie’s need to gain more experience in the bedroom. When the opportunity arises, Ellie makes a deal with Tyler Longfoot, Bluelick’s bad boy with a sexy reputation, to teach her to be more confident in the bedroom. Ellie has her sights set on Bluelick’s newest bachelor Roger Reynolds, but Roger has his sights set on someone else.
As the storyline develops, so too does the relationship between Ellie and Tyler. The intimacy between our couple goes beyond the bedroom and sex, but Ellie continues to have eyes for someone else. Ellie is a young doctor, naïve in many respects when it comes to relationships and men. She is definitely a quick learner and ‘The Wild Woman’s Guide To Sex’ is her go to bible every time. She is a little rigid when Tyler suggests thinking outside of the box.
Tyler is Bluelick’s motorcycle riding, sexy bachelor-a man whose reputation with the ladies proceeds his deal with Dr. Ellie. He is caring, funny and a little bit dominant but a man who is willing to teach Ellie everything she wants to know. Tyler begins to lose his heart to Bluelick’s feisty doctor –a heart that will be broken when it looks like Ellie gets her man.
We are introduced to Bluelick’s townspeople including Ellie’s interesting new receptionist Mallory as well as a slew of other colorful characters. Like any small towns, there is the local bar where friends gather to discuss life and love, and it is at Rawley’s Pub where some of the most interesting stories are told.
PRIVATE PRACTICE is an entertaining and hopeful introductory storyline of romance and love. Samanthe Beck’s characters are realistic, imaginative and fun. The sex scenes are passionate and intimate without the graphic language of many erotic storylines.
