REVIEW: HER FORBIDDEN COWBOY is a contemporary, adult, romance storyline from author Charlene Sands that focuses on country music star Zane Williams and his former sister in law –twenty five year old, primary school teacher Jessica Holcomb.

Told from third person point of view, the storyline follows the rebuilding of a relationship-a friendship between Zane and Jessica. When Jessica’s sister (Zane’s wife) was killed in a horrific accident two years earlier, Zane moved from Beckon, Texas to Moonlight Beach, California and never looked back. But Jessica’s life has currently been derailed; her fiancé left her at the altar, leaving a broken hearted Jessica to deal with the aftermath. When her mother approaches Zane about taking in Jessica for the summer, Zane is happy to oblige. Life has been difficult since the death of his wife, but it is about to become more complicated when her look-alike younger sister moves into Zane’s house.

The relationship begins as friends and quickly advances to lovers when Zane’s jealousy rears its ugly head. Jessica has attracted the attention of several men-Zane’s neighbors- and Zane is tired of being alone. Zane is Jessica’s rebound relationship and both go into the affair knowing that it may never last. The love scenes are sensual, gentle and mostly implied. There are no graphic sex scenes, no graphic language or violence.

The secondary characters include Zane’s neighbors-hunky screen actor Dylan McKay; quiet and secretive architect Adam Chase; his housekeeper Mrs. Lopez and his assistant Mariah. I would love to see a couple of storylines focusing on Dylan or Adam-two men whose lives are almost as lonely as Zane’s

HER FORBIDDEN COWBOY is a quick read; a sweet, gentle and uncomplicated romantic storyline about two people who will get a second chance at love. Charlene Sands pulls the reader into an engaging and pleasant story with a happily ever after.
