REVIEW: LIVE WIRE is the first installment in Caisey Quinn’s contemporary, adult NASHVILLE’S FINEST romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and women of the Nashville Police Department. This is explosive ordinance disposal specialist Chase Fisk, and FBI agent Vivien (Brooks) Montgomery’s story line. There is a prequel novella availableLit Fusethat focuses on Vivien and Chase’s relationship four years earlier.

Told from several third person perspectives including Chase and Vivien LIVE WIRE is a second chance story line for two people whose lives were destroyed four years earlier. Chase and Vivien were once in love but a training mission went horribly wrong leaving Chase grieving for the woman that called to his heart. Four years of PTSD, nightmares and longing found our hero face to face with the woman he thought had died-the death for which he blamed himself-and had been the focus of too many nightmares and horrific memories. A series of threats focusing on the Nashville Music Festival has the FBI and Nashville PD working together including Vivien Montgomery-an FBI specialist-who is desperate to make Chase understand what happened and why. What ensues is the rekindling romance between Chase and Vivien, and the hunt for the suspects in a potential attack against the city of Nashville, Tennessee.

The relationship between Chase and Vivien is one of second chances. In witness protection for close to two years Vivien was never allowed to contact the man that she loved, and more years would pass before Vivien was able to face the truth about how Chase’s life was destroyed four years earlier. Chase has never forgiven himself for the explosion that took the life of the woman he loved; nightmares and PTSD, along with an injury that could end his career have dogged Chase for too many years. The $ex scenes are intimate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There are a large number of secondary and supporting characters including fellow police detectives and Chase’s roommates Aiden Gamble and his sister Annalise Gamble, Ethan Meadows and Luke Foster. There is a history between Luke and Annalise, one that pushes Luke out of Anna’s life.

LIVE WIRE focuses on the hunt for a potential killer, and the rekindling romance between Chase Fisk and Vivien Montgomery. The premise is suspenseful and entertaining; the characters are colorful and dynamic; the romance is a second chance at a happily ever after for two people who lost then found love-a second time around.
