REVIEW: ROCK ME is the first installment in Carly Phillips’ contemporary, adult BODYGUARD BAD BOYS erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Alpha Security-a spin off from her. This is bodyguard Ben Hollander, and pop star Summer Michelle’s story line.

NOTE: There is a slight cross –over with author Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series as Carly brings together the team from McKay Taggart and Alpha Security. April 2018 will see HIS TO PROTECT co-authored by Carly Phillips and Lexi Blake.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Summer and Ben) ROCK ME is a second chance story line focusing on bodyguard Ben Hollander, and up and coming pop-star Summer Michelle. Four years earlier Ben Hollander had been assigned security duty to wanna-be singing star Summer Michelle but an affair with the woman he was charged to protect found our hero without a job, heartbroken and betrayed. Fast forward to present day wherein Ben finds himself, once again, protecting the woman with whom he had fallen in love-a woman he believes turned on him when her started began to rise. What ensues is the rebuilding romance between Ben and Summer, and the search for the person responsible for threatening our story line heroine.

Ben Hollander hasn’t seen Summer Michelle for close to four years-four years wherein he blamed the singer for violating his contract clause. Summer Michelle is poised to make it big if only she can survive the grueling talent star competition, and the threats against her life.

The relationship between Summer and Ben is one of second chances: a rekindling romance between two people whose growing love, years before, was destroyed by a jealous rival. Although Ben struggles to keep his relationship with Summer above board and professional, our heroine is determined to renew and revive what was started so long ago. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Ben’s fellow co-workers at Alpha Security: boss Dan Wilson; Ava Talbott, and Jared Wilson; in absentia Tate Shaw and Austin Rhodes, as well as Summer’s agent Anna Davis, and best friend Ivy Jameson; Summer’s competition Tawny Renee, and Tawny’s agent Michael Gold. The requisite evil is easily deduced although the reasons come as a bit of a shock. Austin’s story line is next in TEMPT ME-January 2018.

The world building focuses on the relationship between Summer and Ben, as well as the introduction of the Alpha Security team .

ROCK ME is a sexy and edgy story line about second chances. The premise is entertaining and engaging; the characters are dynamic and spirited; the romance is captivating and sensual. ROCK ME is a dramatic and intriguing start to Carly Phillips’ BODYGUARD BAD BOYS.
