ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 28, 2019

Cooper and Elizabeth Townsend are from two very different worlds – she’s an attorney and he’s an outlaw biker. At first, she was just an escape he needed, but now she’s everything to him, even though their relationship remains a secret.

After his world is blown apart, Cooper is no longer the same man he was before. He’s questioning everything and wondering how the Savage Kings MC are going to fix the mess they made.

It isn’t easy for him to admit that he needs Elizabeth’s help, knowing she’s resisted becoming a part of his life. She just doesn’t think the two of them make sense together. Cooper lives in the constant chaos that Elizabeth tries to control in the courtroom.

Despite the danger, she decides to go all in and do whatever it takes to help Cooper heal.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tries, nothing goes Cooper’s way, not with Elizabeth, the MC, or the redemption he desperately seeks.

Trying and failing to do the right thing, Cooper finally submits to his demons, letting them have everything they crave – the violence, vengeance, and destruction because he doesn’t think he has anything else to lose.

Before it’s too late, Elizabeth and the other Kings will have to try and stop Cooper from making a mistake he’ll never come back from.

REVIEW: COOPER is the tenth instalment in Lane Hart and DB West’s contemporary, adult SAVAGE KINGS MC erotic, MC romance story line focusing on the Savage Kings MC. This is attorney Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Townsend, and Cooper Cummings’ story line. COOPER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history as there is an on-going premise throughout.

Told form dual first person perspectives (Liz and Cooper) COOPER follows in the aftermath of the explosion that destroyed Savage Ink tattoo studio, and the Savage Kings MC strip club Avalon, killing a dancer, and severely injuring our story line hero. Two years earlier, Cooper Cummings began a ‘sex’ only affair with his attorney Elizabeth Townsend, but Cooper’s demands for something more push Elizabeth out of his life until desperate times called for desperate measures. The death of Jenna Higgins left her four month old daughter Ruby without a family, and Cooper made it his mission to bring Ruby home into the fold. Needing a ‘marriage of convenience’ in order to adopt Ruby, Cooper asks Liz for her hand in marriage, a marriage to which Liz agrees, in name only. What ensues is the building romance and love between Liz and Cooper, and the potential fall-out as Cooper struggles with what will never be.

Liz Townsend doesn’t do relationships and her ‘sex-only’ affair with Cooper Cummings was exactly what she needed but when Cooper developed feelings for our story line heroine, Liz panicked and kicked Cooper out of her life. Cooper Cummings didn’t know when he started to fall for his beautiful attorney but knew he blew the day he asked for something more. The explosion at the club left Cooper struggling in more ways than one but he never expected to need Liz more than he did at the moment.

The relationship between Liz and Cooper is a friends with benefits that turns into something more. Cooper is willing to risk his heart but Liz struggles with the possibility of destroying her career if caught associating with the Savage Kings MC. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including club president Torin Fury; MC members Chase, Abe, Reece, Dalton, Cedric, Miles, Jade, Ian and Gabe; Liz’s childhood friend Owen, and secretary Barbara. Ian and Gabe’s story line is next.

COOPER is a story of betrayal and vengeance; family, friendship, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is heavy and hot; the characters are energetic, colorful and sassy. If you are a fan of the MC romance genre, I recommend giving the Savage Kings MC a try.

REVIEW: COOPER is the sixth and final installment in Juliana Stone’s contemporary, adult THE FAMILY SIMON romance series focusing on the Simon family of New England- a family reminiscent of the Kennedy clan with their money, power and political aspirations. This is writer Cooper Simon, and Morgan Campbell’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Cooper and Morgan) COOPER focuses on the building relationship between Cooper Simon- a writer and all around playboy, and Morgan Campbell- a young woman whose life and Olympic dreams were destroyed by an horrific accident that left our heroine scarred both inside and out. When Cooper’s sister in law Charlie hires a cleaning service to help around the house, Cooper struggles with his attraction to the woman who hides a multitude of secrets behind baggy clothes and an air of independence. Several off-hand comments by Cooper find our heroine walking away without a second glance only to be rehired to ‘catalogue and search’ the attic of the old home that Cooper now owns. What ensues is the building relationship between Cooper and Morgan, and the secrets both keep hidden from one another.

The relationship between Cooper and Morgan is one of immediate attraction but each has been burned by a relationship in the past. Morgan’s life spiraled out of control on an icy road that claimed someone close; Cooper’s self-imposed seclusion pits the writer against the man when his muse suddenly goes quiet. The $ex scenes are intimate and romantic.

There secondary and supporting characters include Cooper’s mother, as well as his brother Maverick and sister in law Charlie. We are also introduced to Morgan’s long-suffering father Ryan Campbell, a man who lost so much more the night Morgan’s life was destroyed.

The world building focuses on the Simon family dynamics: the close-knit family whose matriarch comes to visit with disheartening news, and the brothers whose life in the spotlight is not conducive to a normal life or a relationship kept hidden from the media limelight. Cooper and Morgan both have demons in the past, and it is these demons who continue to control their future.

COOPER is the final chapter in Juliana Stone’s THE FAMILY SIMON- a family with prestige, power, wealth, and political connections that make for some entertaining times. Cooper and Maverick’s story lines focus on the extended Simon family wherein their connections to the powerful elite make fair game for the paparazzi and media giants. The premise is emotional and heartbreaking as two people struggle with betrayal and loss; the characters are colorful and charismatic; the romance is a second chance for two people whose lives were diverted down differing paths only to find one another when they needed it the most.

REVIEW: COOPER is the fourth full-length instalment in Harper Sloan’s adult, contemporary Corps Security erotic romance series focusing on a group of ex-marines and the women they love. This is Asher Cooper and Chelcie Avery’s storyline.

Told from alternating first person POV (Chelcie and Asher) the storyline follows Asher and Chelcie’s building relationship. Following Asher’s brother’s murder (Coop) at the hands of a notorious drug lord, Chelcie and Asher are brought together through their mutual love of Zakariah Cooper and connection to Corps Security. While Asher hunts for the people responsible for his brother’s death, Chelcie must find a way to get Asher to accept the secret she is frightened to reveal.

Throughout the storyline we are witness Asher’s spiral into heartbreak and loss following the death of his beloved younger brother. For weeks Asher has remained numb using alcohol and women to keep the pain away and in doing so pushes away the woman with whom he is falling in love. His destructive and abusive childhood haunts his nights while the death of his brother haunts his every waking moment. The only spot of ‘sunshine’ in his life is Chelcie Avery –the very woman he wants to call his own.

Chelcie hides a secret that is beginning to show. Her connection to Asher runs much deeper than love and she knows that she must reveal the truth. But revealing the truth may destroy everything she has tried desperately to save including Asher Cooper and the memory of his brother. Once revealed, our couple go forward with the knowledge that a little part of Coop will remain with them forever.

The secondary characters include all of the Corps Security warriors as well as their wives, girlfriends and children who bring a sense of family and familiarity to the storyline and series.

My only concern is the title referencing Cooper because throughout the series the reader has known Cooper to be Zachariah ‘Coop’ Cooper and with his death, we are introduced to Asher Cooper who is now referenced as Cooper in the title. There may be some initial confusion for readers but Harper Sloan will be writing ‘Coop’s’ storyline in the future

Harper Sloan writes another heartbreaking and emotional storyline of family, friendship and loss. The reader becomes part of the story as we watch Asher all but destroy any chances of love with the woman who calls to his heart and his soul.
