When Darla kicks Kylie out and she loses her job all in the same day, she hops a bus to Nashville determined to make her late father’s dreams come true. Waitressing and saving her pennies to record a demo, her big break comes when she’s asked to join a tour going down the tubes with once platinum album-selling country music superstar Trace Corbin. But touring with Trace is hardly a dream come true since he’s pretty much drinking his career down the drain. If Kylie can’t pull Trace out of his rut, he’ll pull her and her dreams down with him

REVIEW: GIRL WITH GUITAR is the first storyline in Caisey Quinn’s New Adult contemporary series Kylie Ryans. The premise focuses on nineteen year old Kylie Ryans-an up and coming country music star and her struggles to make it big when everyone wants to pull you down.

Girl with Guitar follows Kylie as she endeavors to survive. At a young age, Kylie lost her mother and with the recent death of her father, Kylie would find herself on the streets when her vindictive and angry step-mother kicked her out. With music as her passion, Kylie lands a waitressing job a in bar and one open mic night later, the infamous country star Trace Corbin will offer Kylie a spot on his tour. Only Trace has some issues of his own, and Kylie seems to push all of his buttons.

We watch as Trace continues his downward spiral using alcohol and women only to find himself face to face with a strong-willed and determined Kylie Ryans whose hope to make it big in the music business is dependent on Trace’s sobriety and tour appearances. When it looks like everything is about to fall apart, Kylie tells it like it is and at some point she is hoping that Trace will realize that there is more to life than alcohol and the destruction of his career.

The relationship between Trace and Kylie is acrimonious at best. Trace doesn’t like to be told and Kylie doesn’t want to fail. But Trace’s actions will doom everyone to failure unless he cleans up. There is an instant attraction between the couple, one that cannot be denied but the attraction is hidden behind bitter contempt and fear when so many lives depend on one man and his music. As their relationship begins to develop into friends then lovers, once again, someone is waiting to pull the rug out from under, and Kylie will find herself at the receiving end of maligned gossip, law suits, and hatred from the man with whom she was falling in love.

Girl with Guitar is a storyline that will break your heart when you realize that all Kylie has ever wanted to do was sing; and it will be the people from her past that use their knowledge to bring a young singer down before she has the chance to make it big.

This is a story about betrayal and loss; heartbreak and sorrow; addiction and recovery. This is also a story that will tug at your heart and shed a few tears for a young singer whose only sin is to love to sing and play the guitar.

Caisey Quinn has written a wonderful story of hope where a young woman with dreams of singing and writing songs will find herself climbing the ladder of success only to be pulled down-one vengeful story at a time.

REVIEW: GIRL ON TOUR is the second storyline in Caisey Quinn’s contemporary, new adult Kylie Ryans series focusing on country singer Kylie Ryans and Trace Corbin. Girl on Tour picks up shortly after the events of Girl with Guitar and furthers the relationship between Kylie and Trace.

Girl on Tour follows Kylie’s rising star in the world of country music. On tour with two other newcomers to the female country line-up, Kylie discovers that life is not all that easy on the road especially when one of the tour members despises the very air you breathe.

The storyline focuses on the behind the scenes, day-to-day lives of people on the road. As Kylie’s star begins to rise she finds herself miles away from the man with whom she has fallen in love. Trace is touring as well, but things are not going as well for him. Trace is hiding something from Kylie and the paparazzi and rumor mills begin to fuel the fires of jealousy and rage.

Kylie and Trace’s relationship struggles with the separation and tabloid rumors of infidelity and breakups; and both Kylie and Trace are touring with people who are making their lives more difficult by the day. Trace’s prior connections to his current tour partner becomes fodder for the paparazzi and Kylie will discover that even the most innocent of moments will begin her spiral into the hell that is now her life.

Girl on Tour is a gritty look at the world of country music and the ugliness behind the scenes of a music tour meant to promote. What Kylie discovers is that there are more haters in the business than lovers, and her lover may have become her worst nightmare.

Caisey Quinn has written another wonderful storyline that will bring you to tears as you watch two lives begin to fall apart with increasing speed. What was supposed to be a happy time in Kylie’s life will become a violent storm of epic proportions-especially when the man to whom she has lost heart believes that there is nothing between them to save.

Girl on Tour is a story of love and loss; jealousy and rage; and one misunderstanding after another. It is a difficult read at times because we are pulled into a relationship nightmare where two people begin to fall apart in varying degrees. Life is not pretty on the road and Girl on Tour reveals the uglier side of a relationship struggle on the road. And if anyone remembers ‘A Star is Born’-the premise is very similar.
