She’s searching for a sign…

Hannah Halloran has always believed in her gift. The things she sees through her psychic touch have never led her wrong before. Not when they led her to an unforgettable night with a sexy marine at a bar. Not when she felt a need to leave her home and find the sisters she barely knows. And not now, when she is an unwilling witness to a brutal murder…

He’s ready to show her…

All Niall Graham wants is some peace. He’s recovering from the horrors of war, struggling to save his family’s restaurant, and desperate to forget Hannah, the beautiful woman who left him with memories of a mind-blowing night together and a bogus phone number. But a quiet life is hard to manage—especially when Hannah strides back into his restaurant with the news that a serial killer is on the loose and lurking closer than anyone could have guessed…

Review:

Energized by Mary Behre is the 3rd book in her Tidewater series. I have been a fan of this series from the start, and Energized was the best one so far. It had a bit of everything…romance, suspense, mystery, fun, sexy hot couple & wonderful secondary characters.

Hannah Halloran is our heroine, and we meet her early on when she is tending a bar in her home town in Ohio. She meets our hero, Niall Graham, who is passing by. Niall is a marine, coming off duty after serving a difficult time in Afghanistan. Hannah is physic, with the gift of going into the mind of anyone, if she touches an object belonging that person. When serving Niall a beer, Hannah is automatically in his memory of the difficult time he is having. She is attracted to him, and also feels his pain. They both end up in a one night stand, which neither can forget.

Many months later, Hannah is on a quest to meet her long lost sisters in Tidewater. For the time she expects to be there, she applies for a job in a restaurant, and is hired by one of the owners. Later, Hannah is shocked to discover that Niall is one of the owners, and he too is shocked; enough so that he does not want to hire her. He tried to call in Ohio, since he couldn’t get her out of his mind, but she gave him a wrong number, with him assuming she wasn’t interested in him. Niall agrees to let her work there temporarily, and gives her a hard time. Karma, who also works at the restaurant, and was one of our heroines in the earlier books, befriends Hannah. While Karma helps her, she discovers Hannah’s psychic ability, while she is in throes of living in a vision.

What follows is an exciting and suspenseful mystery of a serial killer, who Hannah only knows as Mercy. The police department doesn’t believe Hannah about her vision, and when a body is found, they arrest her. Fortunately, Niall and Karma come to her rescue, but the race is on to find the killer before the murderer picks her next victim.

Niall realizes his feelings for Hannah are real, and he tries to protect her, as the danger escalates. During this adventure, the romance between Niall and Hannah becomes very hot, as their chemistry is off the wall. Hannah was a fun heroine, when she wasn’t in the midst of her violent visions. Friends we have met in previous books, we help Niall and Hannah in a wild and pulse pounding last third of the book, which will hit too close to home.

Mary Behre has given us a wonderful, fun, exciting story in Energized. If you have not read the Tidewater series, I wholly recommend you do so. This is a fun series that has everything to enjoy.

Review:

Harmonized by Mary Behre is a novella in her Tidewater series. Harmonized is a novella that precedes the next full length book, Energized, coming in August. This was a nice exciting story, with a sweet romance between our heroes in this story, Zig and Karma.

Zig Harmon, whom we met in the earlier books, is on desk duty due to injuries on the job. To his surprise, he sees his ex Karma De La Cruz, come to the police department. Karma left him years before, without telling him why, and now she needs his help. Karma has physic abilities that give her visions. She returns to Tidewater to help prove her friend is innocent of killing her baby, as she jumped off the bridge. Karma insists that the child is still alive, with her friend in the hospital unconscious. Zig is aware of Karma’s abilities, but all the evidence points to her friend being guilty. Despite their awkwardness about the past, they agree to work together to discover the truth before the child dies.

What follows is an exciting adventure, as Zig begins to realize that Karma’s visions are real, and they race to find the culprit. While this is going on, the chemistry between them is unavoidable to resist, as they both succumb to their lust for each other. Will Zig and Karma stay together? Will they be able to find the child in time, and prove her friend’s innocence?

Mary Behre’s Tidewater series is a wonderful romance suspense, with great characters and exciting storylines. Harmonized was a perfect read to hold us over until the next Tidewater book, Energized.

Determined to track down the animals and their thief, the telepathic vet decides to investigate, unknowingly delving into a deadly mystery…

So when she contacts him requesting his help to solve a series of animal kidnappings, he’s eager to reconnect with her. Review:

Guarded by Mary Behre is the second book in her Tidewater series. I enjoyed the first book in this series, but I have to say this one is even better. The series revolves around three sisters, who were separated at a very young age due to the death of their parents. Each of them have a special gift (crift); Jules, the oldest sister, who had her story in the first book, sees and talks to ghosts. Shelley, our heroine in this story, is the middle sister, and she communicates with animals. It helps since she is a veterinarian. The sisters is part of the background of the story, but this is a romance, with suspense and hunky men for the girls.

Dev is our hero, and he is a detective in Tidewaters Police Department. He knows Shelley from school, and always had a crush on her. But because she was dating his best friend, Dev kept his distance. Dev is friends with Jules’s fiancée, and knew Shelley was her missing sister, so he set out to find her, and bring her to meet her sister. Shelley is embroiled in a serious issue with some animals she treats that turn up missing, and she sends Dev a letter to please come to help.

When Dev arrives to see Shelley, his old feelings resurface. He begins to work with Shelley to find out why animals from the local zoo are disappearing. Shelley is in embroiled in this mystery, with Dev concerned that all clues are pointing to her. There are quite a few twists and turns along the way, people getting killed and the danger escalating. To give too much more information would be considered spoilers.

But I will say that this is a wonderful story of a romance that continues to build over the course of the story. Dev knows he is falling in love all over again, but Shelley is hesitant to commit, as she was hurt very badly when her fiancée dumped her months before their wedding. She swore off men, but finds herself responding to her lustful feelings for Dev. There chemistry together was great, and very sensual.

In between this exciting mystery, there were so many wonderful parts of this story. When Shelley and Jules come face to face after all those years was very emotional. Seeing Jules talk to ghosts and telling Shelley what the ghost was saying was cool. I loved Shelley talking to the animals, as she saw visions that they showed her.   Shelley’s pet ferret, Lucy, was a riot, and her attacks against Dev were eye opening…. you have to read it. LOL There is a lot of humor in this story and it was fun. At the same time, the last 1/3 of the book was very exciting, filled with non-stop action.

Mary Behre has written a wonderful story with a little bit of everything. She has created some wonderful characters, especially the hot men in Tidewater Police Department, whom we will get to see more of in future books. Guarded was a fun delightful read, with a hot romance, mystery, and action-packed suspense.

Review:

Spirited by Mary Behre is the 1st book in her new Tidewater series.  We meet our heroine, Jules at the start as she seems to be running from something, as well as missing her cell phone and keys to get into her apartment.  The fact that she ends up in our hero, Seth’s apartment sets the stage for a somewhat funny story, with mostly suspense and romantic elements throughout.

Seth is a detective, and when this strange women climbs through his window in a bustier, he threatens to arrest her, thinking she is a hooker.  But Jules doesn’t really know how she ended up in Seth’s apartment, and tries to make him understand she went to a costume party, and lives in the same building. He did not believe her, until as he was taking her to the station, the owner of the building vouches for her, that she is his adopted daughter.  Seth lets her go, and soon both of them become the romantic couple of this story.

Jules is keeping a major secret from Seth.  She is psychic, having the ability to see the dead, with the spirits coming to her for help.  Only her adopted parents know of this ability, and there was no way she could tell Seth that it was a spirit who led her to climb into his window.  What follows is a cute sweet romance that develops with Seth and Jules, in the midst of a major suspense story of murder; with Jules life very much in danger.  It seems that wherever she goes, Jules finds herself in a dangerous situation, as someone wants something desperately that she unknowingly has. The spirit is a murdered woman who tries to get Jules to help find her killer, but Jules has a hard time understanding her.  Seth senses that he is falling in love with Jules, but every time a murder or attack happens, he has to try to explain to his superiors that she is innocent.

The last third of the book was an exciting story, not to mention also very hot between Seth and Jules.  Throughout the book, Mary Behre has added a lot of humor to this story that was fun.  I did enjoy Jules and Seth, and the mystery was very well done.  The only thing I did not really like was Seth’s attitude at times to Jules, when he would doubt her story. At times he went too far, even if some of her story sounded unbelievable, but he loved her and should have listened to her.  I thought she accepted his later apologies too easily.  I would have smacked him a few times.  Other then this, it was a very good story in this new series.
