REVIEW: AXEL is the thirteenth installment in Carly Fall’s contemporary, adult SIX SAVIORS paranormal/sci-fi romance series focusing on a species from the planet SR44. This is SR44ian Axel a member of the Rescue One team from planet SR44, and half human/half SR44ian Eden’s story line. Eden is the daughter of one of the original Six Saviors Hudson. AXEL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for background and cohesion.

BACKGROUND: There were 6 original Savior warriors from planet SR44. The warriors were sent to earth over 220 years ago to stop and eradicate the 12 murderers who escaped from one of the moon colonies of planet SR44. The Colonists, as they were soon called, made their way to Earth, took the human body form, mated with the females and populated the earth with Colonist DNA. The earthly descendants will either manifest good or bad qualities; the savior warriors are part of the elite military from planet SR44, commissioned to remove the Colonists from Earth including the descendants with bad DNA. The beings on planet SR44 are incorporeal bodies of mist and smoke, each bearing a different color, but in their corporeal bodies on Earth, their eyes will glow their familiar- planet SR44 color each evening. Their mission has yet to be completed; their planet has been destroyed; and a new group of SR44 men and women have arrived in search of the original six saviors.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Axel and Eden) AXEL focuses on the forbidden relationship between Axel and Eden-a relationship forbidden by the man Eden recently learned was her father. Hudson and the rest of the SR44 males don’t trust Axel-he is dark, brooding, and silent, and not without some demons that are slowly destroying what’s left of his mind. With the recent discovery of Eden and her twin brother Benedict as direct descendants of SR44ian Hudson, the Saviors and their mates have taken extra precautions to protect our story line heroine believing she is too naïve and young to understand the world around her. What ensues are Eden’s attempts to bring Axel into her life, and the ongoing battle with a new enemy determined to destroy the SR44ians.

The relationship between Axel and Eden is one of immediate attraction although Axel has been warned not to go near or interact with Hudson’s daughter. Eden is a strong willed female determined to exert her independence and in doing so places herself in a dangerous situation. The $ex scenes are intimate and compelling without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

Most of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Axel’s friend and tattoo artist Foster whose story will be continued in Carly’s new spin off series-OPERATION UNDERWORLD- a series about a clandestine organization whose members have special abilities to hunt those paranormal entities determined to cause harm to humans. The first book in the series comes out in April 2017.

AXEL is a story about one man whose dark past controls his present, and one woman whose looking for love from a man who is afraid to let go. The premise is heartbreaking, encouraging and sensitive; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance is provocative and passionate. Carly Fall ‘s SIX SAVIORS series is an impassioned look at otherworldly beings trying to do the best in an impossible situation.

Imagine waking up in a hospital and noticing a red glow around some of the staff. Perhaps you would think that you’d hurt your head in the accident that put you there, but when you see these people flashing their fangs and drinking off of the patients and other members of the staff, maybe you’d think you’d completely lost your mind!
But, have you?

For Connor Dickson, the answer is a resounding no as he comes to terms with the fact he can see vampires, and they live and work among the human population.

Welcome to Operation Underworld!

Operation Underworld

When my fellow author Elise Marion approached me with the idea of us collaborating on this project, I was on board within seconds. I loved the idea of writing books about a clandestine organization that polices the paranormal entities secretly living among us!

I will be releasing the first three books in the series: A Touch of Blood, A Touch of Love, and A Touch of Death.

All three of these will be releasing in April / May so that readers don’t have to wait. Elise will be tackling demons in her first three books, releasing May / June.

Here’s the blurb to my first book, A Touch of Blood:

He cheated death once. Can he do it again?

After surviving an explosion deep in the heart of the Guatemalan jungle, Marine Connor Dickson has been left with a supernatural ability—he can detect vampires living among the human population.

With this knowledge comes the realization that there are good and evil among the vampire nation. After witnessing a horrific death at the hands of a vampire, it becomes his own personal mission to police the rogue entities and stop them from harming humans.

He is recruited into Operation Underworld, an organization where their sole purpose is to hunt the criminal entities of paranormal species. His first assignment is to find out why humans are going missing from nightclubs in Los Angeles.

When he meets the beautiful Sami Karim, he discovers they are working on the same missing persons case. As his attraction to her grows, he can’t shake the feeling that she’s hiding many secrets, as well as lying to him.

A shocking twist of events reveals Sami’s true agenda, leaving Connor devastated, fearing for his own safety, and ultimately, forced to face his enemy on his own.

REVIEW: ROMAN is the eleventh installment in Carly Fall’s contemporary, adult SIX SAVIORS sci-fi romance series focusing on a species from the planet SR44. This is SR44ian Roman Johnson, and FBI profiler Olivia Waterhouse’s story line. ROMAN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and enjoyment. Any important information from previous story lines is revealed where necessary

BACKGROUND: There were 6 original Savior warriors from planet SR44. The warriors were sent to earth over 212 years ago to stop and eradicate the 12 murderers who escaped from one of the moon colonies of planet SR44. The Colonists, as they were soon called, made their way to Earth, took the human body form, mated with the females and populated the earth with Colonist DNA. Their mission has yet to be completed; their planet has been destroyed; and a new group of SR44 men and women have arrived in search of the original six saviors.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Roman and Olivia) ROMAN focuses on the search and rescue of Roman Johnson. Two days earlier, our hero spent a glorious night with a woman, and woke to find himself a prisoner in a government holding facility where he is not the only SR44 to arrive- there are two more SR44 beings who look very familiar to our story line hero. Enter FBI Profiler Olivia Waterhouse, the woman with whom he spent the one-night stand, and the woman he believes has betrayed them all. As Olivia begins to wrap her head around the idea of aliens on Earth, Roman knows that he may not survive if the other SR44s are unable to help extricate them from the underground facility. What ensues is the building relationship between Olivia and Roman, and Olivia’s discovery that Roman and the others are targets of potential government experimentation.

ROMAN has a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters although not all of the previous couples are present or accounted for. There are currently three couples struggling in their relationships, and their ongoing issues will be addressed in a Six Saviors Christmas novella expected to be released in November 2016.

The SIX SAVIORS is one of my favorite sci-fi romance series. Carly Fall’s imaginative and creative world building is fascinating and impressive. ROMAN is a welcome addition with another SR44 male finding his mate. The premise is moving; the characters are passionate and seductive; the romance is captivating and intense.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: TITUS is the tenth installment in Carly Fall’s contemporary, adult SIX SAVIORS sci-fi/paranormal romance series. This is former member of the Platoon, and SR44ian Titus, and SR44ian healer Macy’s story line. TITUS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although for cohesion and backstory I recommend reading the series in order.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Titus and Macy) TITUS focuses on our hero’s recovery-both mentally and physically-after finding himself alone and dying in the desert following the murder of his mate by a SR44 Colonist. Titus is one of the original members of the Platoon-the remaining survivors of planet SR44 who went in search of the original Saviors. Rescued by one of his own ‘species’ Titus spends months in recovery wishing he had died along with his mate. Enter Macy-a SR44ian healer-who has fallen in love with the broken male but has come to the end of her patience when Titus continues to withdraw further into himself. Macy will point out he is not the only SR44ian to lose someone close, and that while the others struggle to stop the Colonists from their nightly rampage, Titus remains behind wallowing in his own hatred and pain.

The relationship between Macy and Titus is slow to build while Macy spends months ‘healing’ Titus through psychic power. Titus is a man so broken that he is incapable of feeling anything beyond the pain of losing his mate, and doesn’t realize that his salvation will come at the hands of the SR44ian healer. The $ex scenes are provocative and seductive without the over the top erotic imagery.

The world building continues to focus on the hunt for the Colonists who have ravaged a city believing itself to be a victim to a serial killer. The violence is more graphic than in previous installments, although we are witness to the aftermath in most of the cases.

I want to add that I did have a difficult time with Macy (near the end) as it pertained to her inability to stay strong in the face of what had happened, and what was meant to be. Her ‘lack of self-confidence’ threatened the lives of several members of the SR44 family, and with it came my disappointment for her as a strong, female character or heroine.

TITUS is an entertaining and emotional story line that focuses on love and loss; heartbreak and grief; looking forward and letting go. Most of the previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles; the Saviors prepare for the birth of a new member of their group.

Carly Fall’s incredible and passionate SIX SAVIORS is a series about hope-a hope for the future of a species who know that home is no longer a planet millions of miles away, but on a small planet called Earth.

However, by doing so, he could put her or the Saviors in danger … and end up completely alone in his new world. Once Holly knows the truth, can their relationship survive the deceit?

•••••••••••••

REVIEW: JUSTICE is the ninth full-length installment in Carly Fall’s contemporary adult Six Saviors sci-fi/paranormal romance series. This is SR44 Rescue One Leader Justice, and US Army Corporal Holly Lewis’s storyline. JUSTICE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but for cohesion, backstory and enjoyment I suggest reading the series in order.

Told from several third person points of view JUSTICE follows the Six Saviors as they endeavor to stay one step ahead of the Colonist’s murderous rampage sweeping the city of Phoenix Arizona. While on patrol, the Saviors will be introduced to more of their kind-the crew of SR44’s Rescue One-including their leader Justice, and another SR44ian whose previous history with the Saviors is nothing less than murderous and volatile.

Two years earlier, Justice and his crew had answered a ‘call’ from Earth requesting immediate retrieval as the Savior’s mission was complete, but upon arrival they were stunned to realize nothing was as it was supposed to be and the Savior’s were unaware of the request for help. Holding up in an abandoned bunker in the middle of the desert for two years, Justice and his crew had grown restless and were hoping to meet with the original Six Saviors. But a frequent visitor to the bunker-US Army Corporal Holly Lewis-would push the meeting a little closer when Holly uncovers the crew’s hiding place.

The relationship between Justice and Holly begins as acquaintances but soon escalates when Holly finds herself on the run, accused of her brother’s murder and seeks out Justice and the bunker as a place to hide. Enter the Six Saviors who will be tasked with uncovering the identity of the person responsible for Holly’s brother’s death as Justice believes the truth may focus on a Colonist descendant. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense; there is an expiry date on their developing relationship when the Saviors push Justice to walk away.

All of the previous storyline couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles-the ensemble cast of characters brings a sense of familiarity and cohesion to each additional story. The original Six Saviors have all mated and found love; their expanding families are making for some loud and fun times in the Silo. With the introduction of Justice’s Rescue One crew, there are more storylines on the horizon for the SR44ians. The world building continues to focus on the extermination of the original Colonists and the growing number of half-breeds (half human/half Colonist) with the volatile DNA although the Saviors’s continue to struggle in locating those responsible for the increasing number of attacks and murders. The SR44ians now call Earth their home but some new comers are having a difficult time with the realization that SR44 is no more.

The storyline premise is well structured; the tone and imagery sets the stage for another potential happily ever after although I fear for one of the new members at the Silo. Justice’s future role with the Saviors has yet to be revealed; he is no longer living in the Silo with the rest of his ‘family’. The characters are colorful and engaging, although we know very little about the two years in hiding for Justice and his crew. The conflict is two fold as the Saviors have some issues with Justice’s relationship with Holly, and Justice’s need to help Holly when her world begins to spin out of control.

JUSTICE is another welcome and entertaining addition to Carly Fall’s SIX SAVIORS sci-fi, paranormal romance series. Carly adds some background information with each of her storylines to jog the reader’s memory-I applaud every author who isn’t afraid to rehash some of the previous information. For those who have issues with science fiction, the Six Saviors series reads more like a paranormal romance than the 50s & 60s sci-fi storylines. The setting is contemporary Earth where our heroes find love within the human population.

REVIEW: ATONEMENT is the eighth instalment in Carly Fall’s sci-fi, slightly paranormal Six Saviors Series focusing on the remaining warriors of planet SR44 and the women they love.

Background: 6 saviors warriors from planet SR44: Rayner, Hudson, Noah, Cohen, Jovan & Talin. The warriors were sent to earth 212 plus years ago to stop and eradicate the 12 murderers who escaped from one of the moon colonies of planet SR44. The Colonists, as they were soon called, made their way to Earth, took the human body form, mated with the females and populated the earth with Colonist DNA. The savior warriors are part of the elite military from planet SR44, commissioned to remove the Colonists from Earth. The beings on planet SR44 are incorporeal bodies of mist and smoke, each bearing a different color, but in their corporeal bodies on Earth, their eyes will glow their familiar- planet SR44 color each evening. This is ‘half breed’ Blake and SR44 female Sophia’s storyline.

The premise follows Blake’s spiral into hell. Blake is what is known as a half breed-half Colonist and half human-the very thing that the Saviors hunt and destroy. As a former FBI agent, Blake is aware of the SR44 existence and has sided with the Saviors in their war against the Colonists but Blake’s appearance is not well accepted or trusted; he’s wanted by the FBI for refusing to hand over the SR44 warriors; and his self esteem and sense of worth takes a nose dive when he falls victim to drugs and sex and someone who cashes in on Blake’s notoriety.

Throughout the story and during Blake’s drug induced haze, he will be visited by an Angel-an astral projection of a woman who seems to call to his soul. When Blake discovers that Sophia is actually an SR44 female, held against her will, Blake will put all of his efforts into fighting for her safety-but it will come at a cost.

ATONEMENT is a storyline that is slow to build as Carly takes the reader on two differing paths that will culminate in the capture of Blake and the release of Sophia and her daughter. We are pulled into a story of one man’s fall from grace and his need to atone for his sins. The remaining Saviors have a difficult time forgiving and trusting Blake, and in the end, it is Sophia who will come to Blake’s defense when he is accused of a crime against one of their own.

The secondary characters include all of the previous storyline couples as well as SR44 survivors and newcomers Micah and Jael. There is anger among the newest arrivals directed at the original Six Saviors for the perceived lack of success against the Colonists, and with the anger will come resentment, retribution and pain. It is difficult for the surviving members of planet SR44 to accept that there is nothing left of the place they once called home and the original Six are targeted for destruction.

Carly Fall continues her amazing series that focuses on survival and the rebuilding of a species that now call Earth their home. ATONEMENT is a story of betrayal and heartbreak; addiction and recovery; learning to love and letting go. It is also a story of family-where one man is caught between two worlds and must learn to accept that he is different than everyone else.

REVIEW: THE DREAM WALKER is the seventh instalment in Carly Fall’s Six Savior series.

SOME BACKGROUND: There were 6 original Savior warriors from planet SR44. The earthly descendants will either manifest good or bad qualities. The savior warriors are part of the elite military from planet SR44, commissioned to remove the Colonists from Earth including the descendants with bad DNA. The beings on planet SR44 are incorporeal bodies of mist and smoke, each bearing a different color, but in their corporeal bodies on Earth, their eyes will glow their familiar- planet SR44 color each evening. THE DREAM WALKER is Nico’s story and his eyes are silver.

The premise follows Nico (the newest member of the Saviors) and the other Saviors from planet SR44 as they investigate a series of animal killings and missing persons in Phoenix Arizona. As the killings escalate, the Saviors are contacted by the most recent group of SR44 refugees-The Platoon-who have offered their support with the search for the killers. The Platoon is a group comprising of the few remaining warriors from SR44 and have made it their mission to destroy the Saviors for their inability to find the 12 original Colonists and their descendants.

Nico is a Dream Walker and his power has not always been welcomed. With his ability to slip into the sleeping dreams of others, his actions are considered an invasion and voyeuristic so Nico tends to stay by himself. But the Saviors have a plan and it is Nico’s special ability that will determine the truth about the killings and who is involved. And Nico will also discover that dream walking can be pleasurable as well as informational.

Alaina is a young woman whose family history is unknown. Abandoned as a child, she eventually found her way into the world of exotic dancing and stripping. But Alaina will soon discover that she has a special ability and it is that ability that will place Alaina and the Saviors in danger.

The relationship between Alaina and Nico is slow to develop as a good portion of the storyline they have yet to meet or they are separated. Nico believes Alaina is his mate, as his internal SR44 self is drawn to Alaina. But there is something about Alaina that doesn’t sit well and it is this discovery that will force Nico and the other Saviors into a life and death struggle to save one of their own.

THE DREAM WALKER is also a story about friendships and relationships. Carly includes the Saviors and their mates from previous storylines in each subsequent novel ensuring a familiar and friendly flow throughout the series. Life is not always easy for the members of the original Saviors but life for their mates is even harder. We watch as one relationship struggles and another relationship takes the next step to permanency.

Carly Fall has written and continues to write an amazing and fantastic series about the lives and loves of the Saviors from SR44. There is heartbreak and sorrow for the loss of friends and family: but there is also the knowledge that their lives on Earth have not been without some happiness and continued friendship with the warriors they have grown to love and respect. As each warrior finds his mate, there is always the one that is left behind. But we know, that each will find their one true mate and even those that were once considered enemies will begin to show that not everyone is who he or she appears to be.

If you like a story with strong, alpha warriors whose love for that one special woman completes his life, then Carly Fall’s Six Savior series is the perfect read. There is action and drama; sorrow and loss; humor and love. And there is always a warrior waiting to find that special someone to complete his life.

Killing Characters

When a writer kills off a character, it is never an easy decision, especially if the authors’ audience has an emotional investment in the character through other books.

Before the release of The Dream Walker, the seventh book in the Six Saviors Series, I wrote Tangled Fates (the 6th). In that book I needed to make a decision on whether or not to kill off one of the main characters. I wrote the book with the intention of keeping him in, but then in the editing process, my editor suggested I kill a character.

At first, it wasn’t an option for me. However, the more I thought about it, I realized the book would be better if I did so.

I pondered the decision for weeks. Finally, I sat down and re-wrote parts of the book to reflect the characters death. As I did so, I had tears in my eyes. When the character took his last breath, my tears flowed freely, and I felt as though I had just found out a dear friend of mine had died. A light cloud of depression hung over me for a few days.

My editor was right—the book was much stronger with the death. The death brought up questions of morality and sacrifice. The character loved another so fiercely he was unable to let go.

However, many of my readers weren’t very happy, and they let me know it. (Ahem….Sandy)

And for me as a writer, that signified I had made the right decision. I want my readers guessing what is going to come next, and I think for a lot of them, the death was something that they probably never expected throughout the book.

But like death in real life, the character will live on through the memories of his friends and family in the books to come.

Interview

Carly Fall 2TRC: Hi Carly and welcome back to The Reading Café.

Follow: Website / Facebook / Twitter / Goodreads

Carly: Thank you for having me again, Sandy.

TRC: For anyone who does not know Carly Fall, please tell us something about yourself?

Carly: I am a wife, a mother and a slave to the dog, Nicky. I love to laugh, I think chocolate and wine should be considered their own food group, and I wish Christmas happened twice a year.

TRC: The Six Saviors blog tour is to help promote your paranormal/sci fi series about the heroes and heroines from planet SR44. Would you please tell us about the premise of the series?

Carly: Two hundred years ago, terrible criminals escaped from SR44 and came to Earth. The Six Saviors were sent to eradicate them, but things didn’t go quite as planned. This series is the stories of the Saviors, their hunt for the criminals, and falling in love. Each book focuses on one specific Savior.

TRC: What and who do you have planned for the next Six Savior’s installment?

Carly: HA! I knew you’d ask this 🙂 The next installment of the Six Saviors will feature Nico. He’s interesting because he’s a Dream Walker. Without giving too much away, there will be drama (of course), danger, and hopefully love for Nico.

TRC: I had to ask. You know that 😉

TRC: What or who was your inspiration behind the premise of the series?

Carly: The inspiration for the series was a tour of a decommissioned missile silo in Tucson (the Six Saviors live in a missile silo). I started thinking how cool it would be to live in one, and then my husband and I started joking about aliens living in missile silos (I know – we’re weird), and the premise of the story was born.

TRC: If you could virtually cast the lead characters for the Six Saviors series, which models or actors would be represent your ideal images?

Carly: The guys on the covers are pretty close to how I see them in my mind. I spend hours going through pictures to get them as close as possible.

TRC: Do you have a favorite character or one that tugs at your heart more than the others?

Carly: I don’t. I love all the Saviors and their mates for different reasons. Noah is temperamental, Rayner is sweet, Hudson is suave and deadly, Jovan is also sweet, but very rough around the edges, and Cohen is brooding and somewhat dark. In the next book, we will see him lighten up a bit and get back to the guy he was before the tragedy.

TRC: What do you believe is the biggest misconception about the series?

Carly: The biggest misconception about the series is people thinking – yuck – aliens! And I get that because of Hollywood’s portrayal of them. However, my aliens are beautiful in their original form, as well as their human forms. It used to be that vampires and werewolves were vilified, and we see where that has gone. I think it’s time for some hot aliens to get some love.

TRC: If you could go back and change something/anything about the series would you? Why or why not?

Carly: I thought about this for a long time before answering, and honestly, I can’t think of anything that I would change about the series. There are some plot lines that people have been very upset about, but to me, that’s good. That means that my readers are emotionally invested in the stories.

TRC: When writing a storyline, do the characters direct the writing or do you direct the characters?

Carly: I try to direct them, but they are stubborn and sometimes more creative than me. Let’s call it a collaborative effort

TRC: What challenges or difficulties (historical, research, logistics) did you encounter writing this particular story/series?

Carly: Time. There’s never enough time. That and when the characters aren’t cooperating.

TRC: How do you keep the plot(s) unpredictable without sacrificing content and believability?

Carly: The thing I love about writing the fantasy/sci-fi/paranormal is that boundaries can be pushed. Everyone can love a little harder, the drama can be ratcheted up, and the twist and turns in the stories can go beyond “real life.” I try to push those boundaries to the limit without “jumping the shark,” so to speak. When I do go too far, my editor is there to reel me in and get me back in line.

TRC: How do you handle the pressures and anxiety of deadlines while still having time to raise a family?

Carly: I try to keep it in perspective. I know my readers are waiting for the next book – I get emails every single day asking when the next one is going to come out. However, I also have a son who is eight. He needs his mom, and his mom needs him. He’s my number one priority, and when I get stressed and start thinking about books and deadlines, I’ll go play with him or curl up on the couch with him and watch WWE Wrestling. It’s very soothing and relaxing being with my son. He doesn’t know it, but he keeps me grounded.

TRC: If you were stranded on a deserted island with whom would you like to be partnered and why? Which three items would be your ‘must haves and can’t do without’?

Carly: Well, I would want my son there, and I suppose I would have to take my husband, although he might just drive me crazy complaining about bugs or something. I would also take Joe Manganiello because he’s big and strong and I would enjoy watching him work. Really enjoy watching him. And he’s big. And strong. And pretty.

TRC: What are your thoughts on book reviews-good or bad?

Carly: Book reviews are both good and bad. I realize that every book is not for everybody. I do a little reviewing myself, and sometimes I will pick up a book and wonder where in the heck all the good reviews came from because I HATE it. However, as an author, it can hurt when you see a bad review. I would much rather get a bad review that is well thought out and has valid points (or at least the reviewer thinks they are valid :)) than one where the reviewer just slams the book without backing up their statements. You need a tough skin and a bottle of gin to be an author.

On the other hand, a good review can have an author walking on air for hours, if not days.

TRC: On what are you currently working?

Carly: The next installment of the Six Saviors.

TRC: 🙂

This is the book that was never supposed to be written. It was inspired by fans of the Six Saviors Series who wanted a little more of Beverly and Hudson from REBORN. If you haven’t read REBORN, this book is not for you.

There’s no doubt that Beverly has had her share of ups and downs. When we last left her in REBORN, she had told Hudson that she was pregnant with his child, he was happy about it, and they were about to be mated.

In Destiny’s Shift, we see Beverly and Hudson happy with their baby, but what happened in between those two books?

A lot.

This is Beverly’s journey into motherhood.

And it’s not an easy ride.

This book also answers the question that many readers emailed me about: What are they going to do with Beverly being fully human?

REVIEW:  The blurb is very explicit and detailed and relays a good portion of the premise but the emotional and heartbreaking guilt that threatens to destroy two of the Six Saviors is anything but simple. And for those who have not read my previous reviews, I will repeat the background information.

Background: 6 saviors warriors from planet SR44: Rayner, Hudson, Noah, Cohen, Jovan & Talin. The savior warriors are part of the elite military from planet SR44, commissioned to remove the Colonists from Earth, but as the Colonists continued to breed, so too did their offspring and the number of inhabitants on earth with Colonist DNA is unknown. The Six Saviors have been unsuccessful in their attempts to locate all of the original Colonists and anyone with Colonist DNA.

Tangled Fates is not only the title but is the psychological and emotional fall out in the aftermath of the destruction of planet SR44 and the ensuing guilt that burdens the survivors-guilt that has been placed upon the warriors by themselves as well as the few who literally fell to earth to keep their species alive. The fate of all those who remain has been threatened by a rogue group of warriors, known as the Platoon, hell-bent on revenge against the original warriors sent to earth over two hundred years ago.

Believing and hoping the Six Saviors had eradicated all threats against the SR44ians, The Platoon make it their mission to destroy anyone with a history of evil, and in doing so may have inadvertently revealed the existence of the SR44 to the human population of Earth. Not only does The Platoon hope to remove all traces of The Colonists but they want the Six Saviors to pay for the destruction of their planet.

Tangled Fates is a darker storyline and one that drew on the reader’s emotions and personal entanglement with the series characters and premise. We watch as two of their own sit on the precipice of self-destruction knowing that in truth one or both may not return. With the death of a mate, sorrow and grief become the survivor’s companion, but when the death of one’s mate destroys the soul and the very essence of the man, the journey will be difficult for those left behind.

Carly has written a storyline where grief and sorrow manifest themselves in different ways and at times it was difficult to accept the behavior of the bereaved. Everyone handles death in a different way and Tangled Fates is a storyline that will touch many readers who have grown to love the Six Saviors of SR44.
