REVIEW:  THE LOVER’S PROMISE is the third installment in JC Reed’s adult, contemporary No Exceptions erotic romance series focusing on Brooke Stewart and Jett Mayfield. Their continuing story finds the lovers at odds with one another when Brooke witnesses Jett in a compromising position with another woman.

The storyline follows Brooke’s intense and dramatic search for the truth. When a detective calls Brooke in for questioning regarding the murder of a friend, all fingers point to Jett and Brooke is willing to believe everything she sees and hears. Her anger pushes away everything she knows about the man that she loves replacing it with doubt, accusations and astonishing disbelief.

The relationship between Brooke and Jett continues to be tense, alarming and full of anguish and doubt. There are moments of heartbreak and pain for two people who love one another beyond words but whose trust has been damaged by words and betrayal.
