ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 5, 2026

Graduation implies a new beginning…

Jude

It’s unusual that I meet someone who becomes more than a fleeting acquaintance. Of all the places to meet such a person, at my cousin’s graduation party is my last guess. I’m so intrigued with him that I invite him with me to the boat club on Dark Island in Alexandra Bay for the summer.

Conner

I planned my entire future around getting drafted to the NHL but come graduation, no one wants me. Through a series of fortunate events, a frat brother brings me home and his hot cousin – professional hockey player – somehow takes an interest in me and while I’m still floundering for a future, I’m not upset to live in the present for a while.

Joining him at his boat club and staying in the castle is far too good to be true.

Because it is too good. One man takes an instant dislike of me and somehow, I end up inside the wall and before a group of masked people with knives in their hands as they discuss whether I get to live or die.

REVIEW:Graduation No Face by Crea Reitan is the latest installment in the interconnected Longwood U series. In fact most of her series are connected that way. Does it make for confusing reading? No, not really, but it does make your brain work trying to remember where you might have read about them šŸ˜‰

This romance blends summer fling vibes, secret society intrigue, age gap tension, and high stakes danger in only 193 pages. It felt longer, we get a lot packed into those pages.

The story follows Jude, a professional hockey player who’s typically guarded and doesn’t form deep connections easily. At his cousin’s graduation party, he meets Conner, a recent college grad whose NHL draft dreams have just imploded, no team wants him, leaving him directionless and alone. šŸ˜ž

Conner ends up tagging along to Jude’s family’s extravagant summer setup, a boat club on Dark Island in Alexandria Bay, complete with a castle like stay that’s luxurious beyond belief. Has something jogged in your mind? (Yes the island is mentioned in another book)šŸ˜‰

What begins as an intriguing, heat filled summer romance, Jude inviting Conner to join him, leading to instant chemistry and scorching encounters, quickly darkens and turns a little more sinister!

The plot weaves in mystery, threats, and revelations as the men navigate attraction, protection, and uncovering hidden truths tied to the island’s elite underbelly.

The writing keeps the pace brisk, intriguing build up and a satisfying unraveling of secrets, while blending lighthearted summer romance with darker edged tension.

If you’re a fan of MM romance with secret societies, age gap elements, hockey adjacent worlds, and a touch of danger, this hits the spot, intriguing, and emotionally satisfying without dragging us through pointless pages!

If you’re deep in Reitan’s universe, it’s a must read, if you’re new to the ā€œCreaverseā€, it’s a good place to start, with plenty of intrigue, and before you know it, you’ll be down this rabbit hole searching for ā€œwhere did I read him? and what book?ā€ 😜 And yes there are appearances/mentions of previous characters (the Van Doren series) and (For Puck sake series) and it’s also leading us into a new series on the island and Van Doren family.

He can destroy anyone—except the woman he’s sworn to deceive.

Elias Kent is Chicago’s most dangerous fixer—a man who plays chess with human lives and always wins. Beneath St. Michael’s Cathedral, in the catacombs hidden under the city, he lives for one thing: revenge against the secret criminal empire known as The Association.

Lana Anderson was supposed to be leverage—until the enemy closes in. Elias makes an impossible bargain: an arranged marriage that will shield her old-money family…and buy him access to the inner circle.

Lana thinks Elias is the villain who betrayed her world. She vows she’ll survive his cage long enough to destroy him.

He swears he hates her—until obsession becomes an insatiable hunger he refuses to feed. Instead, he watches her. Controls the rooms she enters. Keeps distance like it’s a weapon…because the moment he touches her, she becomes his weakness—and weakness can get them killed.

Then Lana finds the clues he never meant her to see—and realizes the man she married is hiding more than secrets.

With danger closing in and the city igniting, Elias must choose: vengeance…or love.

In a city built on secrets, falling for your enemy is the deadliest vow of all.

REVIEW:Sworn in Deceit by Victoria Lum is a fast-paced enemies to lovers, dark romance filled with drama, spice and angst. Prepare yourself readers, this one is a good one. As always with any dark romance, check your trigger warnings before reading.

Elias is dark and morally grey in all the best ways. He has secrets, he tells lies, he is dangerous, he is everything a man with ties to the mafia should be. Lana is the opposite, sunshine, light and goodness, when they meet when they are teens, they have a romance neither of them ever saw ending. But tragedy happens and they are torn apart, now after years apart, they are reunited again, although Lana doesn’t know who Elias is or that he is the boy she used to love. Elias however has always been watching her, weaving himself into her life in the background. When Lana becomes a target to some really bad people, it’s Elias that must keep her safe. She is forced into a marriage with a man she claims to hate, but all the while she has no idea what power he really holds.

Elias is a monster in the dark, but one that you want to cozy up to for comfort when things get scary. He’s the guy you think you can’t stand, but secretly pine for. Elias and Lana make such a good pair, Elias needs a little softening, and Lana needs some protecting, and not just from the Syndicate. They may start their marriage under dire distress, but it quickly turns into something they would both fight for. Ms. Author writes a tale of intrigue and drama, of slow burn spice and high angst mystery, together Elias and Lana build a new future together.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 3, 2026

My beloved England is finally saved, for I am now queen.

The rules have changed, and peace now settles over the Kingdoms. This is the life I was destined for.

However, this life isn’t without regret because I’m missing an integral piece of my heart. I believed we were forever. But for England to prosper, I had to give up everything for the only man I ever loved.

And that man is Skarth the Godless.

I do not know where he is. But this is the sacrifice I must make because a Saxon queen cannot love a Northman. But I do. I always have.

A love fated in the stars…stars which I wish to set alight—for what good is love if you cannot embrace it with both hands?

Skarth and I are connected in more ways than one. And when our children’s lives are at risk and everything I fought so hard for is about to be destroyed, I forget I am Queen Emeline.

I am Hugrekki. I must find Skarth, and only one person can help me. Ulf the Bloody.

This is our final battle—a battle of the heart—and I fear it’s a war we’re all about to lose.

••••••

REVIEW: BLOOD OF THE STARS is the third instalment in Monica James’ adult IN LOVE AND WAR dark, historical, Viking romance series. This is the continuing story of Northman Skarth the Godless, and Queen Emeline. FALL OF THE STARS should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book one NORTH OF THE STARS. BLOOD OF THE STARS advances the series several years.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Skarth and Emeline) BLOOD OF THE STARS follows in the wake of Emeline’s ascension onto the throne of England but the man she loves is unable to stand by her side. Seen as a betrayal to have fallen in love with a Viking, Emeline rules without her consort, raising her sons without their father but a betrayal will send Emeline in search of the man whom she loves, a man who has also been betrayed by the people he trusts.

BLOOD OF THE STARS is another dramatic, powerful, tragic and startling addition to Monca James’ dark, historical IN LOVE AND WAR. A tale of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, torture and abuse, death and reconciliation. The premise is gritty and edgy; the characters are desperate and determined. BLOOD OF THE STARS ends on a happily ever after for now-Skarth’s friend ULF the Bloody is missing, and I suspect the author has plans for his story line arc.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 5, 2026

Things I should never, under any circumstances ever do: ask my secret crush, aka. the most notorious (reformed) playboy in pro hockey, to take my virginity.

Too bad, I did.

After a string of terrible dates, I did the unthinkable. I propositioned Flip Madden.
Of course, he said no.

It isn’t that he’s almost a decade older than me, or that I’m still in university.
It’s because I’m his coach’s oldest daughter.
Not to mention my dad would bludgeon Flip with his hockey stick if he found out.
Which he won’t, because it will never happen.

And now things are awkward because there’s no going back.

Except Flip is more protective than ever, and his eyes follow me around every room we’re in together. He brings flowers to my recitals and reads all the books I recommend.

Things I should never, under any circumstances ever do: hope Flip Madden might actually want me too.

••••••••

When Tally propositions Flip, our hero flat out refuses her advances, and in this, Tally’s struggles in the wake of a disastrous news from home. Battling between head and heart, Flip takes the next step in building a relationship, one in which the paparazzi refuse to let go.

The world building focuses on Flip’s past relationships and his reputation as a bit of a proverbial manwh*re. Tally’s father is aware of Flip’s reputation but Coach Vander Zee has troubles of his own, and Tally is caught between her love for Flip, and the heart break of watching her family implode.

The relationship between Tally and Flip is an age-gap, forbidden romance between friends. Flip doesn’t want to lose Tally as a friend but the heart wants something more. Tally is determined to prove she is worthy of Flips’ love but Flip is keeping secrets that may break them apart. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

I don’t need a bodyguard—I run a small-town lavender farm, for bee’s sake. But when my identical twin sister lands the movie role of a lifetime that’s being shot in my hometown I get one anyway.

And guess which broody, tattooed protector the studio sends to keep the paparazzi off my porch?

Last month’s almost one-night stand.

The guy with the wicked mouth and heated eyes who slipped out before the fun even started. But turns out the sexy jerk is excellent at rescuing me from sneaky photographers at the market. Then the coffee shop. I’m trying hard to stay mad after the third time my new bodyguard saves me.

To top it all off, he’s staying in the cottage at my farm. With me. And there’s only one bed.

Maybe if we finally give in and finish what we started, it’ll relieve the tension? But one night quickly turns into another. Then into late-night secrets and soft confessions we shouldn’t say out loud. Especially since he’s leaving and I’m staying, and there’s no way we can be more than a summer romance that ends far too soon.

REVIEW:A THOUSAND PERFECT LIES by Monica Murphy is a contemporary, young adult, dark academia thriller focusing on New York native Billie Vale aka Belinda Winters. A THOUSAND PERFECT LIES is the re-release of the author’s July 2024 THE LIAR’S CLUB

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Meanwhile, Billie will meet Emily Wells’ grieving brother Connor Wells, a young man with a heavy burden to bear in the wake of his sister’s death, and his father’s infamy. Connor tends to keep to himself but his attraction to Billie is the perfect foil for our story line heroine.

The world building follows several pathways including Billie’s struggle to fit in: from bullies to oblivious adults and parents, spoiled classmates, secret affairs, murder and fraud, and underserving heirs, Wickham Academy is a school full of generational and legacy entitled brats, each battling for control of their own lives. The deeper Billie digs into the history and culture of Wickham Academy, the murkier the past begins to unravel, directly affecting our heroine’s life going forward.

The relationship between Billie and Connor is quick to build: from new girl to Connor’s girlfriend in a matter of a couple of days but when Billie’s identity is revealed, our heroine finds herself on the outside looking in, losing the young man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are mostly implied.
