REVIEW: BACKSTAGE is the first instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult RECOIL erotic, rock music, romance series focusing on the members of the rock group Recoil. This is lead singer Dwayne ‘Danger’ Pipe, and twenty-four year old, club girl / stripper Annalise ‘Lunar’ Sheffield’s story line. The RECOIL series is set in the author’s OFF YOUR ROCKER duet, crossing over with the SATAN’S SAVAGES MC. BACKSTAGE is the re-release of the previously title PICK.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Danger and Lunar) BACKSTAGE follows in the wake of the break up of the rock band Recoil. Two years earlier, Danger Piper fell in love, and walked away from the band he helped to form. Fast forward to present day, Danger begins to spiral when he is pushed aside for another man, landing in Australia, where he will be given a second chance with the band he left behind. Danger never expected to fall in love but the woman that calls to heart is about to discover the reality of life in the spotlight, and the kind of betrayal that could cost them both.

The world building focuses on the rebuilding fame and popularity of the rock band Recoil; the paparazzi betrayals and determination to destroy, and the up and down relationship that is threatened by misunderstanding and jealous.

The relationship between Lunar and Danger is one of immediate attraction but Lunar is ‘owned’ by the Satan’s Savage MC, and leaving the MC is harder than is seems. Friends become enemies, betrayal comes from within, and the heart wants something it may not be willing to give. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, familiar and energetic secondary and supporting characters including the members of the band: Ryan, Mat, and Nate, and their new agent Nate: several members of Sstan’s Savages MC including VP Steel, president Mad Dog, Techie, and Lunar’s best friend Skye; Lunar’s mother Jackie; and the members of the all-female rock band Luminous including Effa.

BACKSTAGE is a familiar story of power and control, fame and madness, betrayal and vengeance, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is seduction and erotic; the characters are broken but determined.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ryan and Tillie) AMPLIFIED follows in the wake of the arrival of a new PR manager for the rock band Recoil. As their success is on the rise, Recoil is about to embark on a North American tour but the band is under new management, and management has hired PR manager Tillie Mark’s to promote their new campaign. Guitarist Ryan Hunter struggles with Tillie’s arrival, having been the band’s sole social media person, and his attraction to a woman who is not his late-wife. Forced to work together Ryan finds himself falling for our story line heroine, a woman whose heart he is about to destroy.

The world building focuses on the band’s rise in popularity through Tillie’s social media campaign. Ryan is about to star front and centre as the fans follows his journey towards better health but the past refuses to let go, and Ryan struggles to move forward with our story line heroine.

The relationship between Ryan and Tillie begins acrimoniously as our couple butt heads at every opportunity. Ryan battles between head and heart believing he is being unfaithful to the memory of his late wife, and in doing so, will push Tillie out of his life. Tillie has fallen for a man who is unable to give all of his heart, a heart he has given to someone else. The $ex scenes are seductive and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic, language and text.

The colorful and charismatic secondary and supporting characters include the members of RECOIL: Danger and Lunar, twins Matt and Nate, as well as new agent/manager Oliver Reade, and Tillie’s sister Roxie.

AMPLIFIED is a story of secrets and lies, grief and loss, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is entertaining, engaging and emotional; the romance is heart breaking; the characters are determined and dynamic.

REVIEW: HEADLINER is the third instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary, adult RECOIL erotic, rock romance series focusing on the members of the rock band RECOIL. This is twenty-six year old rummer Nate Levine, and thirty-six year old award winning actress Zaria Sharif’s story line. HEADLINER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion. HEADLINER is the re-release of the author’s original titled SNARE.

Told from dual first person perspective (Nate and Zaria) HEADLINER follows in the wake of the hiring and arrival of award winning actress Zaria Sharif. Recoil is about to film their first music video and Nate has demanded an A-list star but Nate never expected to fall for our story line heroine, a woman whose introduction and first impressions leaves something to be desired. Nate sees something in Zaria that no one else is able to see, and our heroine is determined to help Nate with a secret about which very few people know but as the crew begins to film the band’s new video, jealousy will threaten everyone involved, as Zaria pushes Nate out of her life.

The world building follows several pathways including Nate’s lifelong secret, Zaria’s dysfunctional family dynamics, and the spiral of two couples as the video experience blurs the line between fiction and reality.

The relationship between Nate and Zaria is one of mutual attraction but Zaria has been trained as a diva, and her first impressions left a bitter taste with the members of the band. Nate is determined to prove Zaria is not whom she present to be but often times first impressions leave a scar and no turning back. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top,sexually graphic language and text.

HEADLINER is a story of secrets and lies, jealousy and heart break, family and relationships, forgiveness and love .The character driven premise is emotional and Sensitive ; the characters are charismatic, animated and brooding; the romance is seductive, spicy and fated.

This is twenty-six year old bass guitarist Matt Levine, and PA Alex’s story line. REFRAIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion. Matt is Nick’s twin brother (Headliner). REFRAIN is the re-release of the original titled instalment FRET.

NOTE: Some of the events of REFRAIN cross over with, and run parallel to the events of book three HEADLINER

Told from dual first person perspectives (Matt and Alex) REFRAIN follows the friend to lovers relationship between twenty-six year old bass guitarist Matt Levine, and PA Alex. Nate Levine is in need of an assistant, and his soon to be fiancé hires Alex to keep his life in running order but Alex never expected to fall for her boss’s twin brother Matt, as they commiserate over their lack luster love lives, joining an online dating service together. As Alex and Matt begin their separate journey into the world of the unknown, they refuse to admit to their growing attraction to one another that is threatened by the continuous need to seek a possible future with someone else.

The world building focuses on the less than stellar online dating matches, and the spiral of two people who are struggling to remain friends in the face of growing love. Matt battles between head and heart, as Alex is willing to walk away in the face of humiliation and potential betrayal. The business of music takes a back seat in this instalment.

The relationship between Matt and Alex is a friends to lovers in which Matt struggles with his feelings for the woman he calls his best friend. Fearing the loss of the woman he loves, Matt makes a mistake threatening any chance of a future with our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

All of the previous couples return as well as Feng Shui ‘expert’ Whisper who reminds me of another eccentric secondary character found another one of my favorite author’s series.

REFRAIN is a story of friends and family, relationships and love. The character driven premise is heartwarming and often fun; the characters are sassy and impulsive; the romance is tender.
