REVIEW: WOLF’S BETRAYAL is the second instalment in Eve L Mitchell’s contemporary, adult BLACKBRIDGE PEAK paranormal, romance series focusing on Wolf Pack Alpha Cannon, and his fated mate Kezia. WOLF’S BETRAYAL should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the cliff hanger of book one WOLF’S GAMBIT.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Cannon and Kezia) WOLF’S BETRAYAL picks up after the events of book one. Kezia has been on the run for close to five months in the wake of rejection by her fated mate but participating in the underground MMA fights brings too much attention to our story line heroine, attention that catches the eye of her reluctant mate, the alpha who is determined to destroy what fate pushes together. Meanwhile, Kezia’s original pack is desperate to reclaim their wayward pack member but all is not well when secrets revealed threaten everything Kezia thought she knew, and her future going forward.
The world building continues to focus on the contemptuous and temperamental relationship between our story line couple. Cannon is unable to accept Kezia as his fated mated, and the alpha’s disdain for Kezia is affecting her ability to move on from the past. Secrets revealed show a lifetime of lies, betrayal, jealousy and greed,that continue to threaten everything Kezia thought was the truth.
The relationship continues to be combative and antagonistic. Cannon and Kezia are belligerent and contentious but with Kezia’s approaching heat, Cannon is determined to push away the woman that calls to his wolf. The $ex scenes are limited but intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and questionable secondary and supporting characters, many of whom have ulterior motives, wanting nothing more than to destroy our story line heroine.
WOLF’S BETRAYAL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, madness and mayhem, rejection and hate. The premise is captivating and intriguing; the characters are desperate, powerful , determined and lost. WOLF’S BETRAYAL ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Kezia and Cannon) WOLF’S ENDGAME picks up after the events of WOLF’S BETRAYAL in which Kezia has been imprisoned by her former Alpha Bale of the Anterrio Pack. Along with her brother Kris, Kezia was raised by a brutal pack leader, and she was about to find herself forced into a mating she did not want. Having left behind her true mate, Kezia struggles with the possibility of losing everything until her inner spirit, takes charge, freeing out heroine to pursue her goals. Meanwhile, Kezia’s mate Cannon is fighting for his life, and with the return of his mate, a powerful magic takes hold, pushing Cannon to uncover the truth about the woman with whom he has fallen in love. Determined to take down the Anterrio Pack, the Blackridge Pack declares war wherein not everyone will survive.
The world building focusing on betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, obsession and madness, power and control. Pack leader Bale is determined to destroy Kezia and everything she represents but in doing so, invokes the wrath of the Blackridge Pack, a wrath from which he will never come back.
The relationship between Kezia and Cannon continues to be combative but Cannon is slowly warming up to his equally powerful mate but Kezia’s power comes from an outside source, and it is this source, that will help Kezia survive the coming war. The $ex scenes are limited but intimate and passionate.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of magical secondary and supporting characters many of whom are questionable at best. Betrayal is met at every opportunity so much so that Alpha Cannon is struggling to trust the members of his own Pack.
WOLF’S ENDGAME is a story of power, betrayal, madness and love. The premise is enthralling and spellbinding; the characters are determined, desperate and dynamic; the romance is fated and powerful.
