REVIEW:CLEAR SHOT is the ninth instalment in Kat Mizera’s contemporary, adult LAUDERDALE KNIGHTS erotic, hockey romance series. This is professional hockey player Aiden Barbeau, and Hana Hajek’s story line. CLEAR SHOT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Hana is Johan Hajek’s sister (Cheap Shot #5)

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hana and Aiden) CLEAR SHOT follows the marriage of convenience between our story line couple. The company for which Hana Hajek’s works has been hit by fraud, and she has seven days before her visa expires. With no new opportunities on the horizon, Hana prepares to return home to Europe until an offer she cannot refuse comes from her brother’s teammate Aiden Barbeau. A marriage of convenience for visa purposes only, and after one year, they walk away but a Florida hurricane, and the search for a new home, pushes our couple closer together until a perceived betrayal has Aiden walking away without looking back.

The world building focuses on several pathways including a deadly storm, a personal revelation, and heart break for our story line heroine.

The relationship between Hana and Aiden begins as an arrangement in which neither is expecting more than the surface arrangement. Hana has lusted after Aiden for as long as she can remember but Aiden has loved and lost, and his secret may tear our couple apart. Aiden’s attitude towards Hana distressing-I think he should have been forced to grovel more.The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, although only used once, more for shock value than anything else.

There is a large ensemble cast of familiar, energetic and encouraging secondary and supporting characters including many of the previous story line couples, and team players from the Lauderdale Knights: Wolf Bodilsen, Felix Lessard, Jordan Palmer; Vaughn and Juliet, Jude and Chloe, head coach Anatoli Petrov and his wife Tessa, Hana’s brother Johan and his wife Sloane are determined to protect our heroine when heart break ensues, and Anders and Claudia (Body Shot #8).

CLEAR SHOT is a story of secrets, perceived betrayal, family and friendships, forgiveness and love. The premise is heart breaking, edgy and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are charismatic, dynamic and magnetic.
