REVIEW: HAUNTED BY THE STORM is the ninth instalment in Brooke Summers’ contemporary, adult FURY VIPERS MC erotic, MC romance series, a part of the multi-authored 31 Days of Trick or Treat. This is MC enforcer Storm Nelson, and twenty-four year old, single mother Camryn Fletcher’s story line. HAUNTED BY THE STORM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Made Mafia series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Camryn and Storm) HAUNTED BY THE STORM focuses on the protection of Camryn Fletcher and her seven year old daughter Emily. Approximately eight years earlier Camryn Fletcher was betrayed and assaulted by a man she thought she could trust. Fast forward to present day, said man has returned demanding everything and more including access to the daughter he never wanted and doesn’t know. Desperate for help, Camryn calls her brother Blaze, a prospect for the Fury Vipers MC, wherein, Camryn will meet her future in the guise of MC enforcer Storm, the man with whom Camryn will fall in love. Desperate and dangerous, Camryn’s past refuses to let go, forcing the MC to make alternative arrangements bringing in the Gallagher Mafia to take over control.

The world building focuses on the protection of Camryn and her seven year old daughter Emily, as the MC promise protection against the people determined to destroy her life. The past has returned, and with it, demands Camryn’s refuse to comply, and in this, the threats become more personal and dark, eventually pulling the MC into a battle not of their making.

The relationship between Camryn and Storm begins as a protection detail but Storm finds himself falling for his charges, a fall that is dangerous in the world of the Fury Vipers MC. Moving Camryn and Emily into the MC clubhouse for their protection, places Camryn face to face with the man with whom she will fall in love . The $ex scenes are passionate and seduction without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of familiar, energetic and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Fury Vipers MC. We are introduced to Camryn Fletcher’s brother and club prospect Blaze, her daughter Emily, as well as Emily’s father Eric.

HAUNTED BY THE STORM is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, desperation, relationships, family and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, intriguing and dark; the characters are determined and desperate; the romance is fated and impassioned.
