REVIEW: NO SAINT is the fourth instalment in the contemporary, new adult DAYTON SERIES romance series co-authored by Stevie J Cole, and LP Lovell. This is college seniors Wolf Brookes, and Jade Anderson’s story line. NO SAINT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Wolf and Jade) NO SAINT follows the acrimonious second chance relationship between college seniors Wolf Brookes and Jade Anderson. Both Jade and Wolf came from the struggling and hardened town of Dayton, and although their final year of college is fast coming to a close, the sins of the past aren’t far behind. A perceived betrayal approximately eighteen months earlier find our couple at odds; and a case of blackmail forces Jade and her friend Cassie to do as commanded but all is not as it appears to be, as Jade continues to struggle in the face of family secrets, and Wolf is about to confront the man who tried to destroy his life, threatening his future in the process.

The world building is detailed and complex as the Wolf and his friends / roommates ‘fundraise’ for a charity that is questionable at best. As Jade and Cassie succumb to the threats and blackmail of Wolf and his friend, Wolf finds himself questioning his future when the fallout threatens to take it all away. An impoverished town is the backdrop for our struggling couple, and their lack of money and success follows them to

The relationship between Jade and Wolf is one of second chances; a tempestuous rekindling that is threatened by issues of trust, jealousy, perceived betrayal and heart break. As Wolf struggles to prove he is worthy of a second chance, Jade’s intentions come to light, threatening any chance of a happily ever after. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The colorful and questionable secondary and supporting characters include the return of Hendrix and Lola, Zepp and Monroe, Bellamy and Drew, as well as the embattled Cassie and Rogue Van De Kut; Jade’s ex Brent, and Wolf’s exes Nora and Meghan.

NO SAINT is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, poverty and struggle, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is intriguing and heart breaking; the romance is emotional; the characters are desperate, determined and broken.
