ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 19, 2025

All I agreed to was a fake relationship.

A weekend of pretending I’m in love with my grumpy, emotionally constipated, private-jet-commuting neighbor.

Easy, right?

Except nothing about Soren Thorn is easy.

He doesn’t believe in horoscopes, hates throw pillows, and treats feelings like they’re contagious.

He’s all sighs, black coffee, and unreadable expressions—and for reasons I still don’t understand, he needs me to be his girlfriend for one very public, very awkward family event.

I thought I could handle it.

Play the part. Make it cute.

But then he started trusting me—with real pieces of himself.

Now I know his favorite coffee, some of his secrets, and the exact look he gives when he’s about to self-destruct but pretends he’s fine.

And I’m starting to realize this whole fake dating thing might be getting too . . . well, not fake.

Because I don’t just want to survive the weekend.

I want to know what it would feel like if none of it were pretend.

REVIEW: Want a fun, holiday read to start the season? Look no further than Fake it til Christmas by Claudia Burgoa.

Soren and Win are as different as oil and water, each with a very different personality. Soren is a grumpy, workaholic, while Win is a carefree, spirited baker, these two have little in common. Except their families. Families that strongly dislike one another, but share a love of guilting them into family get-togethers. When Soren’s sister gets engaged, and his Mother won’t take no for an answer on returning home to celebrate, he finds himself in need of a last minute girlfriend. After a less than dramatic break up with her boyfriend, Win finds herself playing fake girlfriend to Soren Thorn, her hot neighbor/ family enemy number one. What could go wrong?

What a giggle! The banter between Soren and Win is everything. They give off the best grumpy/sunshine vibes. What starts off as a fake relationship slowly builds into something real, Soren and Win build a slow understanding of each other and learn that while their families are important to them, they don’t need their families approval to be happy. Soren was a true delight to read, his gentle grumpy-ness and caring towards Win really made their relationship shine. Win is a girl after my own heart, she is willing to try new things until she finds what she wants to do, and when she does decide she gives it her whole heart. This is very much a slow burn romance, but so worth the build up.

Francesca Accardi is rewriting the record books at Titans Racing. With the first female team owner in her corner and the weight of history on her shoulders, she knows the only way to silence doubters is to win. Every lap. Every race.

Ronan Barnes dominates on Sunday and dares the world to judge him on Monday. Arrogant, electric, relentless, he has no time for niceties—or for the rookie who refuses to yield. Forced together for press tours and charity laps, their sniping becomes a spark neither can shake. But rival teams don’t tolerate distractions, sponsors spook fast, and one misstep could cost Francesca her seat and Ronan his shot at the championship.

When Ronan’s private life—and his mother’s addiction—become an issue he can no longer avoid, Francesca is there as his emotional support. Compassion cracks his armor. He defends her in the paddock; she stands beside him when it matters. Enemies become allies. Allies become something no rule book can define.

With a title on the line, they must choose: her hard-won seat, his crown, or a future together—if they dare cross the line.

REVIEW:Building Romance by S.E. Rose is book three in the Romances in the Building series.

We are back at the apartment building on Hearts Lane again. And this time we follow Cam and her adventures. Cam recently took over the bakery / cafe directly across the street from her apartment building. Between work and bakery jobs, she has worked for a solid decade towards her goal, of opening up her own bakery.

When her former boss, Phyllis decided to retire, she offered to sell the bakery to Cam. Everything fell into place. Then a large banner store posted that they were moving into the empty building down the street. Cam thought she was finally going to succeed at her goal – until this little snag came along.

Fletcher McDowell was picked by his father to oversee the opening of their new store – McDowell’s. The new store on Hearts Lane. He decides to make Cam an offer – he will buy her cafe. When Cam turns him down, he tells her the offer is on the table for the next 30 days. He then tells her he has enough money to put her out of business without buying her cafe. Cam reacts just as expected. This means war.

Cam may have the support of the neighborhood but this isn’t going to be easy. But when they both decide to combine forces to join a local baking competition. No one was expecting what began to happen. What a whirlwind of a story. I love being on Hearts Lane, it’s almost like you live in the apartment building with everyone. They have become home.

Wonderful story again, the romance between Fletch and Cam is unexpected and beautiful. But can these enemies find romance together or will the competition to be the number one store in the neighborhood cause a rift. Heart’s Lane is beautiful journey. Highly recommend the series.

Description:
Long ago, Arthur Poole built a grand house overlooking the turbulent ocean, in a Maine village that bore his name. Today, Sonya MacTavish lives in that manor that has been cursed for generations. Within its walls, she has witnessed the deaths of seven brides and the thefts of seven wedding rings. And now, to break the curse and banish a malevolent spirit once and for all, a difficult task must be completed.

After Sonya, her boyfriend, Trey, and their friends are forced to hear, see—and feel—the suffering of the house’s many ghosts as their torment is reenacted by the evil presence, their bond only strengthens and their anger is renewed. Refusing to let her spirit be broken, Sonya searches each room for clues to her ancestors’ hidden story, putting the picture together, unearthing small treasures, and uncovering the moments of joy that existed among the sorrows. She’s determined to bring light to this haunted place—to fill it with people, with life and hope, once again.

But the enemy in the black dress continues to hover, to come at her in frightening forms. They may be illusions—but illusions can be powerful enough to wound and kill. She feeds on fear, and lies are her weapon. This dark-hearted witch wants to be mistress of Poole Manor, at any cost. And Sonya will need to fight a battle across two realms to finally take possession of the house on the clifftop—and of her own future…

Review:

The Seven Rings by Nora Roberts is the third and final book in her wonderful Lost Bride Trilogy. Refresher: Sonya MacTavish inherited a magnificent, haunted manor with a heartbreaking history.  Over a period of years, seven brides came to the mansion, and seven brides died at the hands of Hester Dobbs, an evil witch spirit, who sent each of them to their deaths, in a jealous fit of rage: thereby cursing the house and all future brides.

Sonya is a descendant of the Poole family, along with Owen Poole; as she has the gift of sight, enabling her to see through the mirror, learning about the past brides and ghosts.  Sonya and her three companions (Cleo, Trey and Owen) continue to search to find the stolen wedding rings.  Sonya and Cleo look into the furniture/rooms to restore everything to its former glory; Trey and Owen also spend nights at the mansion, with both very much in love (Trey with Sonya, and Cleo with Owen). With new revelations, as well as light, laughter and love; which will bring happiness to the group; but they still need to deal with Hester’s constant evil dangerous rage.

Sonya searches all the various rooms, to find clues to her family’s past, putting pictures/photos, unearthing small treasures, and uncovering the moments of joy that existed among the sorrows. Sonya with help from Cleo, were determined to  fix up this haunted manor, with people, life and hope, once again. I loved Clover, who was great with her songs.  I adored Yoda (dog) playing with Jack; and got a kick out of Molly, always cleaning things up. I did adore all the dogs and the cat.

The Seven Rings was an emotional ghost story, and the ties bonded them together. It was a story of good and evil, romance, heartwarming, fiction and thrilling. The Seven Rings was so very well written by Nora Roberts.   It was a great read.
