REVIEW:PRINCE OF CLUBS is the second instalment in Victoria Jayne’s contemporary, adult DIXIE MAFIA erotic, Mafia romance series. This is heir to the Dixie Mafia Eddie Ricci, and twenty-two year old exotic dancer and single mother Tamara Lewis’ story line. PRINCE OF CLUBS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Eddie and Tamara) PRINCE OF CLUBS follows Dixie Mafia heir Edward ‘Eddie’ Ricci as he begins the acquisition of several strip clubs including the Petrol Gentlemen’s Club, where he will come face to face with his best friend’s sister Tamara Lewis. Tamara is a single mother, struggling to make ends meet but Eddie was unaware of Tamara’s desperation having no idea about the child she bore with someone else. Taking control of Tamara’s finances and her life, Eddie sets into motion a sense of recovery but the former strip club owner was in deep with the criminal underworld, and Eddie is about to pay the price for someone else’s sins.

The world building follows several paths including the tenuous relationship between Tamara and her brother Jay; the take over and struggles of the ‘gentlemen’s club; and the embattled family dynamics of the Ricci Crime Family.

The relationship between Eddie and Tamara is a brother’s best friend forbidden affair that wherein Eddie quickly takes control to protect and secure our story line heroine. Tamara’s past returns demanding everything and more, and Eddie is determined to safeguard the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scense are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are somewhat questionable and twisted. We are introduced to Tamara’s brother and veteran Jay;Tamara’s friends and co-workers Lacey and Amber-Lynn, and Eddie’s brother Paul and his wife Harper; their father Josephe, and their uncle Michael, and Tamara’s former boss Trevor Fenton. The requisite evil has many faces including the local MC, Russian Bratva and Irish Mob.

PRINCE OF CLUBS is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic and gritty; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic. PRINCE OF CLUBS ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
