REVIEW:PROPERTY OF LEGEND is the first instalment in Morgan Jane Mitchell’s contemporary, adult KINGS OF ANARCY MC: KENTUCKY dark, MC romance series. This is twenty-nine year old, club president Hudson ‘Legend’ Welles, and twenty-eight year old, Kentucky horse heiress Sophie Montgomery’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Legend and Sophie) PROPERTY OF LEGEND focuses on the fight to save Paradise Falls and the Kentucky ranch where the Montgomery family breed and race potential Derby winners. Approximately ten years earlier, Sophie and Legend were best friends but life at home for both was dangerous and dark. A betrayal ripped our couple apart, and each believed the lies told by someone else. Fast forward to present day, Sophie needs Legend and the Kings of Anarchy MC to help to save the ranch but ten years of heart break and lies force our couple to reconsider the past, when the Montgomery ranch is targeted for sins of the past.

The world building is detailed and complex as we are up close and personal with a religious cult known as the Pearly Gates, and their leader Reverend Ezekiel Crowley, and their followers the Church Boys. Along with the Depraves Sinners MC, the Pearly Gates community takes aim at the Paradise Falls ranch, targeting our heroine in the process. From blackmail to criminal enterprises, the people of Hell, Kentucky have lost control, allowing a religious zealot to control with an iron fist.

The relationship between Sophie and Legend is a second chance romance; an enemies to lovers relationships in which betrayal, secrets and lies, and outside manipulation threaten any future our couple have together. Legend’s past refuses to let go, and Sophie is caught between saving the ranch, and a life with a man she has never stopped loving. The $ex scenes are provocative and passionate without the use of over the top,sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of questionable and interesting secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced several members of the Kings of Anarchy MC Kentucky-Oak, Rye, Derby, Royal, Whiskey, Bullet, and Lex:; Sophie’s brother James; Reverend Crowley, his daughter Becki, and the Pearly Gates’ Church Boys, members of the Depraved Sinners MC; PR director for the Kentucky Breeders Alliance Sam Worthington. Royal’s story line is next.

PROPERTY OF LEGEND is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and religious zealots, family and dysfunction, forgiveness and love.
