I was minding my business drinking when the boys when I decided to take a smoke break and saw the unthinkable—a man had his hand wrapped around Astrid’s neck. She wasn’t just the VP’s daughter in my eyes.
She was the kind of woman who should have a man worship her, in all her curvaceous glory.
I wasted no time teaching that sorry son of a bi*** a lesson. That was the moment I knew she was mine, even if I knew there would be issues with her father.
But, what was more important to Fenrir? Keeping me away from Astrid, or getting the Patriot once and for all? We were at war, and we had to pick and choose our battles wisely.

REVIEW: SCORNFUL is the second instalment in Elizabeth Knox’s contemporary, adult RAIDERS OF VALHALLA MC: NEW BLOOD dark, erotic, MC romance series, set in the Raiders of Valhalla MC world co-authored by EC Land and Elizabeth Knox. This is twenty-four year old, masseuse and club princess Astrid and thirty-six year old, head of security Geirolf’s story line. Astrid is the daughter of club VP Fenrir.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Astrid and Geirolf) SCORNFUL focuses on the forbidden relationship between club princess Astrid and Geirolf. Geirolf has lusted after Astrid for as long as he can remember but as the daughter of the club VP, Astrid was off-limits until the day Geirolf rescued Astrid from her abusive ex. Keeping their relationship a secret was difficult, but Geirolf was about to discover just how much pain falling in love with Astrid would imply. Meanwhile a man known as The Patriot is staking his claim in the Raiders of Valhalla territory, and taking aim at family and friends.
The world building is dramatic and dark as the Raiders of Valhalla MC must search for the man intent on destroying them all As the Patriot takes aim at the most innocent, the Raiders intended to dismantle his crew, one death at a time.
The relationship between Geirolf and Astrid is one of the forbidden but of mutual attraction. Geirolf has struggled with his attraction to Astrid in the face of disappointing his ‘brothers’ and the possibility of losing his but the heart wants something it cannot have. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text
There is a large ensemble cast of familiar and determined secondary and supporting characters most of whom we have me in the previous series. We are reintroduced Astrid’s half-sister Ingrid, and their brothers Emil and Oskar; President Runes and his wife Fern, VP Fenrir and his wife Charm, Kraken and Magnolia, and their children Everly, Bjorn and Njal, Enforcer Rati and his wife Gwen, Vanir and Vail, SAA Logi and Rati, Medic Aesir and Aziza, Iva and Starla, Rio, Magnus and Rayna, Tor and Meghan, Treasurer Dag, Ulf, and Dasha, and Astrid’s ex Laken.
SCORNFUL is a story of betrayal and vengeance, loss and grief, power and control, family and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, startling and tragic; the romance is seductive and captivating ; the characters are desperate, dynamic and dogged.
