REVIEW: BELOVED BEAUTY AMERICAN BEAUTY : Alex and Magnolia is the sixth instalment in instalment in Georgia Cates’ contemporary, adult BEAUTY erotic, romance series. This is thirty-two year old, former professional Australian rugby star turned hotel magnate Alex Sebring, and thirty year old interior designer Magnolia Steel’s story line. BELOVED BEAUTY should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events of book two AMERICAN BEAUTY.

NOTE: For fans of Georgia Cates and her original BEAUTY trilogy, Laurelyn and Jack McLaughlan are Alex’s best friends and play a small role in the current instalment. Alex and Magnolia’s story line advances the series approximately ten-years.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Alex & Magnolia) BELOVED BEAUTY follows in the wake of the rekindling romance and relationship between our story line couple, a relationship once destroyed by betrayal and lies. Determined to find his own happily ever after Alex Sebring promises Magnolia the world as our hero continues to prepare for his re-entry in the world of professional soccer but the past refuses to let go, and at every turn, our couple become the target of an obsessed foe who is determined to take what doesn’t belong.

The world building, once again, focuses on our couple’s determination as they plan for their future, regardless of the demons that refuse to let go. New career pathways, a welcoming family, and friendships that last a lifetime, as the past is left behind, nothing more than a black spot on what is other wise a blossoming love.

The relationship between Magnolia and Alex continues to grow as our couple battle the demons that are determined to take control. Alex wants a future with the woman who has stolen his heart, as Magnolia must come to terms with everything she has left behind. The $ex scenes are passionate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters include Alex’s parents Alexander and Malie, and his brother Elias, PA Celeste; Magnolia’s best friend Violet, Alex’s former teammate and rugby player Tyson McRae, Sebring Hotel employee Celeste, as well as several other teammates and their wives. Here’s hoping the author has plans for Elias and Violet.

BELOVED BEAUTY is a story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and tenacity, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is climactic and emotional; the romance is seductive and sultry; the characters are determined, charismatic, and bold.

Having proclaimed their need for one another, promising to stay in touch, a betrayal from within pushes our couple apart, a betrayal that is further deepened with secrets and lies. Desperate to understand, Alex goes in search of the woman he loves, only to come face to face with the past, and another betrayal.

The world building focuses on the break down then the rekindling relationship between our story line couple, as well as Alex’s plans for his future. Betrayal comes from within, for both Alex and Magnolia, a betrayal that is set into motion by jealousy and obsession.

The relationship between Alex and Magnolia will face heart break and vengeance in the face of personal betrayal. Shock and pain are followed by acceptance and disappointment until the reality of what has happened pushes our couple back together. Alex is determined to reclaim the woman he loves, as Magnolia continues to face the ongoing betrayal head first. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

Once again, the secondary and supporting characters include Magnolia’s co-workers Violet, Elijah, Sophie, Whitney, Rebecca and their boss Gabby; Alex’s parents Alexander and Malie, and his brother Elias, PA Courtney; Magnolia’s best friend Violet, and Alex’s enemy Tyson McRae.

AMERICAN BEAUTY is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power, manipulation and control, secrets and lies, obsession and jealousy, forgiveness and love. The premise is intriguing, dramatic and edgy; the romance struggles in the face of mistrust and betrayal; the characters are desperate and determined. AMERICAN BEAUTY ends on a happily ever after -for now, the conflict has yet to be resolved.

This is thirty-two year old, former professional Australian rugby star turned hotel magnate Alex Sebring, and thirty year old interior designer Magnolia Steel’s story line. STEEL BEAUTY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but for back story and enjoyment, I highly recommend the original BEAUTY Trilogy.

NOTE: For fans of Georgia Cates and her original BEAUTY trilogy, Laurelyn and Jack McLaughlan play a significant role as Alex’s best friends. The story line advances the series approximately ten-years.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Alex & Magnolia) STEEL BEAUTY follows American interior designer Magnolia Steel as she, and two other employees, are offered a three month position in Sydney, Australia introducing the high-end matchmaking business Soul Sync to Australian singles. As a designer, Magnolia aka Charleston is tasked with developing a quiet and romantic ambiance where determined singles can meet but our heroine never expected to meet and fall in love with one of the clients. Alex Sebring aka JC, has watched from the sidelines as his former teammates and friends have found love but a career ending injury forced Alex into the Sebring hotel business, a business that he struggles to enjoy. Without giving their real names, Alex and Magnolia begin a forbidden relationship behind the scenes but Magnolia’s time in Australia is coming to a close, and Alex’s past is determined to destroy them both.

The world building follows the forbidden romance and relationship between Alex and Magnolia. The relationship between Magnolia and Alex is one of immediate attraction although Magnolia is unaware of Alex’s fame, fortune and all-star past. Alex is determined to prove he and Magnolia have a future together but Magnolia struggles with a past in complete opposition to our story line hero. For fans of the BEAUTY series, the familiarity of Alex and Magnolia’s relationship is very similar to Laurelyn and Jack’s including but not limited to the three month timeline, American heroine with a questionable family history, and a billionaire Australian hero , as well as the heartbreak of impending separation, and the hand written goodbye as an expression of love and impending loss. The $ex scenes are provocative and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Magnolia’s co-workers Violet, Elijah, Sophie, Whitney, Rebecca and their boss Gabby; Alex’s parents Alexander and Malie, his siblings, and large extended family of cousins; as well as Alex’s conniving ex Celeste. We are reintroduced to Laurelyn and Jack McLachlan (Beauty Trilogy 1-3).

STEEL BEAUTY is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and manipulation, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is endearing and captivating; the romance is seductive and spicy; the characters are determined, charismatic and spirited. STEEL BEAUTY ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
