REVIEW:WOLF’S DOMINION is the third and final instalment in Eve L Mitchell’s contemporary, adult BLUERIDGE HOLLOW paranormal, romance trilogy focusing on alpha Wolfe, and his fated mate Rowen. WOLFE’S DOMINION should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events and cliff hanger of book two WOLFE’S VOW.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Rowen and Wolfe) WOLFE’S DOMINION is the culmination of three instalments. Someone or something is coming but war is imminent. Neighboring packs have been attacked and destroyed, and all signs point to the ruling pack Council. Old ways refuse to bend to a new order, and destruction of the packs is the only way to maintain power and control.

The world building focuses on the growing relationship and power between our story line couple. Wolfe is now the alpha of two packs formerly at odds but an alpha who is determined to keep the peace for the sake of everyone involved. Wolfe and Rowen a part of the land, a power that recognizes power, and in this, their ability to rule comes without chaos but order.Reading like a mythology of indigenous stories and lore, Wolf’s Dominion blends a powerful belief system that will resonate with all.

The relationship between Wolfe and Rowen is a fated mates relationships, one that will combine the power of two magical forces. The land recognizes the authority aka dominion of the wolves over the territory they have held for thousands of years, and in this the mating of Rowen and Wolfe pulls the power from everything around. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is another large ensemble cast of colorful, familiar, powerful and sometimes questionable secondary and supporting characters are several packs will converge in an effort to save the lives of the people they love. Betrayal will come from within, more than once, a betrayal that will be dealt will deadly and swift.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Rowen and Wolfe) WOLFE’S VOW picks up after the events of WOLFE’S RECKONING in which Wolfe having already fought for, and assumed the position of Alpha of the Stonefang Pack, finds himself the new Blueridge Pack alpha in the wake of the former Alpha’s death, and the fated mate to the late Alpha’s daughter. Rowen is struggling with her destiny, and the thought of being forced into a relationship she does not want but the merger of two embroiled wolf packs is about to threaten everyone including our story line couple. Not everyone is happy with the merger, and Wolfe’s reluctance to permanently claim Rowen as his mate, not only threatens the safety of his mate but the pack as well. Betrayal comes from within, and a united front is required to protect the wolves entrusted to their care.

The world building is detailed and complex as Rowen and Wolfe must come to terms with their mating; betrayal within the pack and from outside, and questions from those who are struggling to remain.

The relationship between Rowen and Wolfe is one of fated mates but a mating wherein both are struggling with their intended futures. As the daughter of an Alpha, Rowen is powerful in her own rite but mated to Wolfe, our couple find themselves the target of the people at the top. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Years earlier,wolf shifter Wolfe fell in love in with his Alpha’s daughter but Rowen rejected our hero, and pushed him out of her life. Refusing to remain where he wasn’t wanted, Wolfe left, found a new home, wherein he would eventually fight for the position Alpha of the Stonefang Pack. His return to Blueridge comes with warnings of incoming danger but our hero never expected to find himself the new Blueridge Pack leader in the wake of the old Alpha’s death. Struggling to keep his distance from the woman he loves Wolfe finds himself pulled into the aura that is his fated mate, a woman who wants nothing to do with controlling men, especially the man who broke her heart but trouble is fast approaching for the Blueridge Pack, and our heroine must put aside old heart break in an effort to save the people she loves.

The world building is detailed and intricate. The Blueridge Pack has been struggling for years under the old ways, refusing to change in the wake of necessity but the death of their Alpha forces a new leadership, a leadership that is determined to take charge even if it means losing the woman he loves.

The relationship between Rowen and Wolfe is tempestuous at best. Years earlier, Rowen refused Wolfe’s plans for the future, pushing him aside for the sake of her heart but our heroine never expected Rowen to walk, and in doing so, Rowen built a wall that no one has been able to break. Wolfe begins to suspect that Rowen is his fated mate but our heroine is beyond stubborn, and her attitude left many questioning Wolfe’s place in her life. The $ex scenes are limited .

There is a large ensemble cast of supernatural and energetic secondary and supporting characters from both the Blueridge and Stonefang Packs: Wolfe’s second in command Killian, as well as Brand, Cody and Axel; druid advisor, and Rowen’s best friend Adair. Not everyone is happy with the return of Wolfe, and someone is determined to take down the Blueridge Pack.

WOLF’S RECKONING is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, acceptance and fate. The character driven premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is limited; the characters are determined and desperate but Rowen’s attitude and mindset is questionable; her defiance remained steady throughout; her need to remain independent, and her behavior may threaten the safety of the Pack. WOLF’S RECKONING ends on a cliff-hanger-you have been warned.
