REVIEW: BROKEN PROMISE is the third instalment in the contemporary, adult BROKEN erotic romance suspense series co-authored by M. Malone and Nana Malone. This is former assassin/former FBI agent turned security specialist Rafe DeMarco, and Diana Renquist-Vandergraff’s story line. BROKEN PROMISE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading book one BROKEN TRUST for back story.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Diana and Rafe) BROKEN PROMISE follows the building relationship between Rafe DeMarco and Diana Rehnquist, a relationship predicated upon a number of lies. Ten years earlier Diana lost everything, and blames Rafe DeMarco for it all. Having set a plan into motion to destroy our story line hero, Diana lies about who she is, in an effort to get up close and personal with Rafe DeMarco but Diana never expected to fall in love. As Diana and Rafe’s relationship becomes more serious, Diana begins to execute her plan only to come face to face with people intending to destroy them all. The relationship between Diana and Rafe is predicated upon a lie. Diana needs revenge for sins of the past but the sins may not be Rafe’s alone. Never expecting to fall in love, Diana struggles between head and heart knowing her time with Rafe is nothing more than a mission to take down the man she blames for her broken heart. Rafe, for all intents and purposes, is easily manipulated by our story line heroine, and finds himself at a disadvantage on more than one occasion. The $ex scenes are numerous, provocative and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and determined secondary and supporting characters most of whom play a role, past and present in our hero’s life. We are reintroduced to the team at Blake Security: Noah and Lucia, Jonas, Oskar, Ian and JJ, as well as Interpol Agent Emelie Durand.

BROKEN PROMISE is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, secrets and lies, family, friendships, forgiveness and acceptance. The fast paced, character driven premise is detailed and intriguing; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are dynamic and desperate.

Patrick Donovan never thought he would ever marry or fall in love but living with Marissa makes their ‘fake marriage’ seem all too real, a reality that Marissa struggles to accept. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Marissa and Patrick , and the potential fall-out as misunderstanding threatens the growing love between our story line couple.

The world building continues to focus on the Donovan clan, and their pushy albeit determined mother who wants to see all of her children married and happy. Keeping separate rooms and lives is nearly impossible, and falling for one another was ultimately in the cards. There are no $ex scenes-everything is implied.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including all of Patrick’s siblings, their significant others, as well as cousins; Patrick’s parents Kate and Shane Donovan, and uncle Ronan. We are introduced to Marissa’s brother Daren. When the Donovan clan gets together, everything is a little frenetic and frantic.

KISS ME is a story of family, relationships, greed and addiction, acceptance and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is heart breaking and engaging; the characters are numerous and dynamic; the romance, once again, is subtle and sweet.

REVIEW: THE SETUP is the fourth instalment in Kristen Proby’s contemporary,adult SINGLE IN SEATTLE erotic, romance series-a spin off with the next generation from the author’s With Me in Seattle series. . This is country music star Sidney Sterling , and classic car restorer Keaton Williams’ story line. THE SETUP can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines and original series are revealed where necessary. Keaton is the son of Luke and Natalie (Come Away with Me/ With Me in Seattle 1); and Sidney is the sister of Gray Sterling (The Scandal).

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sidney and Keaton) THE SETUP follows the friends with benefits relationship between country music star Sidney Sterling , and classic car restorer Keaton Williams. The world building continues to focus on the large extended Montgomery-Williams family, all of who are rich, powerful, famous and friends. From Hollywood, to Nashville, to the gridiron of the NFL, The Montgomery -Williams clan are supportive of one another, forgiving and under control.

The relationship between Keaton and Sidney is one of immediate attraction; a friends to lover, a friends with benefits relationship in which Keaton is willing to risk his friendships with Sidney to stay out of the spotlight while Sidney’s star is on the rise. The $ex scenes are passionate and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

THE SETUP is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love; a story of betrayal and acceptance, forgiveness and happily ever after. The character driven premise is fast paced, emotional and edgy; the romance is seductive and steamy; the characters are determined and dynamic.

REVIEW:The Client by Stella Gray is an intense, romantic drama filled with angst, spicy moments and just the right amount of emotional trauma to make the story kick into high gear. I went into this author completely new, I have never consumed anything produced by her, and I can honestly say I will be coming back for more.

In the Client we are introduced to Rhys and Izabela (Izzy). The story kicks off fast with the drama. Izzy, due to a series of unfortunate events, is sold off to the father of her skeezy ex-boyfriend. Now, Izzy is a popular new model at KZM, she is new to the game and gets herself into a bit of drama because of it. Enter Rhys.

Rhys hires Izzy thinking she is a….female friend if you will, not knowing about the situation she is in, and what an adventure that becomes. During their time together Rhys thinks she is a companion, he starts to catch major feelings for her, then when the truth comes out about who she really is..Well let’s just say Rhys is anything but pleased about it. He is determined to help Izzy out of the mess she had gotten herself into, but what will that mean for them?

Well this was definitely an interesting read. Rhys is an OTTA and those are always so much fun to read. I don’t know how much I liked Izzy’s character, she came off as a little…flat for me, but the pair’s interactions with each other is what makes this story worth the read!

THE GHOST ASSASSIN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book eight THE PARTY IS OVER. If you have not read the previous instalments, there may be spoilers in my review.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from first person perspective (Lilah), and several chapters from Kane Mendez, THE GHOST ASSASSIN picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book eight in which someone working closely with our story line heroine is dead, an assassin’s bullet meant to send a message to Lilah Love. Throughout the series, Lilah has been looking into an organization known as The Society, a powerful group that controls many of the politicians, law enforcement personnel, and the rich and famous, and it is this group that may or may not be targeting the people at the top. As Lilah and her intrepid group of specialists begin to slowly unravel the clues, Lilah finds herself facing down the person who may be responsible for killing them all.

Meanwhile, Lilah’s husband, and Mexican cartel heir Kane Mendez, finds himself at a crossroads. As the heir apparent, Kane must come to terms with his future going forward but similar to Lilah’s investigation, the people surrounding Kane are dying at the hands of someone in charge.

The world building continues to focus on Lilah Love’s frenzied determination to take down the bad guys but the bad guys are often someone Lilah knows. As Lilah’s investigation takes on a personality of its’ own, Lilah’s home life is sitting on the precipice of a hole from which neither she nor Kane will be able to recover.

Once again, there is a large ensemble of secondary and supporting characters including Lilah’s bodyguard Jay, Kane’s bodyguard Kit; NYPD Chief Houston, interim FBI Director David Ellis ; Lilah’s brother Andrew; hacker Lucas Davenport; forensics tech Jack Cox, medical examiner Danica Day; and Lilah’s IT guru Jeff ‘TicTac’ Landers, most of whom are the hunter/gatherers of Lilah’s investigations. We are introduced to a new team of FBI agents, an assassin who goes by Ghost; and the return of someone long thought buried and gone.

THE GHOST ASSASSIN is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, murder and assassinations, struggles, acceptance, friendships and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing, thought provoking and fascinating, and covers but a couple of days in the life of Lilah Love and her husband Kane Mendez; the characters are determined and dynamic. THE GHOST ASSASSIN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
