REVIEW:TRUST is the fifth instalment in Kathy Lockheart’s contemporary, adult SINNERS AND SAINTS erotic, romantic suspense series . This is inmate Knox Blackwood, and RN Harper Mitchell’s story line. TRUST can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as Knox’s story has been building throughout. Harper was introduced in book four DOUBT.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

SOME BACKGROUND: The SINNERS AND SAINTS is a tight-knit group formed b childhood and college friends, each with a specialty and darkness that is required to save and protect the people they love: Ryker, Blake, Axel, Jace and Knox.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Knox and Harper) TRUST follows the forbidden relationship between inmate Knox Blackwood, and RN Harper Mitchell. Fourteen years earlier, Knox Blackwood was convicted of murder, and has spent the ensuing time keeping to himself but refusing to tell anyone what happened and why. Fast forward to present day, Knox overhears one of the inmates preparing to attack the new infirmary nurse, and our hero ensures she remains untouched. Harper never expected to find love in prison but Knox Blackwood is a man who is determined to protect Harper at all costs but Harper’s past has followed her to her new job, and Knox is about to become the target of madness and vengeance.

The world building follows several pathways including the revelation of the truth about what happened fourteen years earlier; the missing years for family and friendships; the betrayal for one woman who is desperately seeking peace; and a young woman whose lost out of fourteen years of memories unaware of the reasons and why.

The relationship between Knox and Harper is a forbidden romance that escalates when Knox is granted parole. Harper struggles knowing Knox is a target of her past but Knox is determined to prove they are both worthy of love and second chances. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of charismatic and determined secondary and supporting characters including Knox’s friends who are diligently working to free their friend: Blake, Axel, Jace and their significant others. We are introduced to Knox’s cellmate Ronan; Knox’s daughter Gwen, as well as Dr. Mercer, Harper’s ex Silas Whitmore, and several security guards and inmates .

TRUST is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, protection and redemption, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, gritty and heart breaking with some reflection and contemplation by our story line hero.; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are desperate, determined and animated.

REVIEW:🥀 His in the Dark 🥀

His in the Dark is part one of the Hades & Persephone duology by Willow Winters. As a retelling there will of course be similarities with Greek mythology, but this is a dark retelling, so trigger warnings beware.

Persephone has known two things her entire life. One, magic is real and two the Gods of Old have not one single iota of mercy to give to her. Like all those born on Olympus, Persephone was born with power, but that power slowly dies within her every minute of everyday that passes. She is safe while she remains in Olympus, but nothing can stop her magic from draining away. Or so she thinks. When Hades crawls into her dreams there is more in the darkness than she has felt before, there is sin and passion. There is power. Hades wants to show her what real power is, what freedom is, what she can be outside the confines that have been placed on her. When Persephone journeys to the underworld with Hades, her power slowly starts to return, but what does that mean? Is Hades true in his affections? Is his claim to want her as his Queen true?

The author leans into the dark romance in this tasty morsel. I wouldn’t describe it as a dark romance, more of a dark re-telling. The vibe to the story is dark because of the things that Hades would do to those that came for his girl. He lives for the “touch her and die” trope, but he’s a King, so there is so much more weight behind it. Of course there is spice, and what fabulous spice it is, but the story is what really leads the reader. The suspense, the drama, the need for more. Hades is troubled by the possible world ending war that is on the horizon if he doesn’t return Persephone to her parents, but also can’t imagine giving her up. The book ends on a killer cliffhanger that had me ready to throw my kindle across the room. Be prepared for that one readers. Overall, I can’t wait to get my hands on part two!

REVIEW: ❤️ His in the Fire ❤️

Part two in the Persephone and Hades Duet has finally arrived! Boo one His in the Dark is a required reading before diving into the next. Just as book one was, this too also has a darker vibe to it so check your trigger warnings if needed.

We jump right back into where book one left us with that awful cliffhanger. Persephone has been taken from the Underworld, ripped away from Hades and all that she has built. Hades is left in angry fury, his loss of his Queen breaks something in him that should have everyone much more scared than they are. He doesn’t just want Persephone back, he NEEDS her back. There is no other outcome than her returning to his side. Persephone too is feeling Hades’ loss, but she is also very conflicted. She lives in two worlds, one of responsibility and pressure and one with Hades where she feels so different about now. She isn’t the same person she was before meeting him, and she has no plans of returning to that person again. Now at the brink of having what she wants most, Persephone must choose between the wrath of Olympus or Hades, the man she can’t be without.

What a read, talk about intense. Hades has officially cracked the top ten of book boyfriends. The intensity of His in the Fire is off the charts, Hades is ready to not only burn to the ground Olympus but the entire universe to get his girl back. The chemistry between these two is volatile, nothing can stop it. When Hades finally gets Persephone back in his arms, I was swooning, throwing my legs back and forth, full girl moment breakdown. These two went through the fire for one another, through Gods, through Fate, through just about every and finally got the one thing they both wanted. Each other. The Author builds a beautiful, all-consuming world with characters that grab hold of you and don’t let go. There is drama, there is pain, there is loss, there is ruthlessness, there is simply everything and it is so intense! Just go read it!

Told from dual first person perspective (Noelle and Torque) TORQUE & TINSEL follows insta-lust to love between our story line couple. A meet-cute at the local mall finds Torque helping Noelle find a table, then searching for our heroine’s niece who decided to go see Santa on her own. An approaching storm, and the possibility of a power failure forces Torque to insist Noelle come back to the clubhouse but a stop at the club owned garage places Noelle in a precarious position, when lives are threatened in the name of revenge.

The world building is short and sweet, and covers but a couple of days in the life of our story line couple. A winter storm, a rescue, and a new family by blood and choice, celebrate the approach of the holidays at the Summit Hill Vipers MC club house.
The relationship between Noelle and Torque is an insta-lust to love. Torque knows immediately Noelle is the woman to tame his heart but threats against our heroine push Torque to take control, and in doing so, Noelle suspects he’s in for the long haul. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

We are introduced to several members of the Summit Hill Vipers MC, as well as Noelle’s sister Amy, and her daughter Ainsley.

TORQUE AND TINSEL is a fast paced, quick read; a story of family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is entertaining and engaging; the romance is limited but seductive; the characters are determined and desperate.

NAUGHTY AND NICE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are numerous , determined and dynamic.

She grew up in Mishawaka, graduated from Indiana University, and is currently living south of Indianapolis. Aleatha has raised three children with her high school sweetheart and husband of over thirty years. Before she became a full-time author, she worked days as a dental hygienist and spent her nights writing. Now, when she’s not imagining mind-blowing twists and turns, she likes to spend her time a with her family and friends. Told from dual first person perspectives (Cato and Sabrina) UNHOLY UNION follows in the wake of the arranged marriage between heir to the Valente Crime Family Cato Valente, and twenty-three year old, Mafia princess Sabrina Corsini. In an effort to shore up power Don Rinaldo Corsini arranges for his daughter to marry the eldest son of the Valente Crime Family, Cato Valente, but all is not as it appears to be. We are introduced to several minor league players who have been called up including Bodi Michener, Dylan Hayes, Warren Franco and Mikey Stevens; Blake’s sister Phoebe, and their father Ethan.

PLAYOFF is a story of second chances and forgiveness, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is effective and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined, dynamic and charismatic.
