REVIEW:CLAIMED ON THE RIDGE is the first instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult SAWYER’S RIDGE erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the Sawyer siblings: Alex, Dash, Cameron, Bryan and Amberly. This is lodge co-owner Alex Sawyer, and Kendall Mitchell Jackson’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspective (Kendall and Alex) CLAIMED ON THE RIDGE follows Kendall Mitchell Jackson as she escapes from an abusive relationship, heading north towards the Alaskan wilderness . Having left Fairbanks, Kendall finds herself in Sawyer’s Ridge where she will come face to face with her future in the guise of Alex Sawyer. Taking refuge at Sawyer’s Lodge, Kendall keeps to herself but Alex Sawyer suspects there is more to her story than meets the eye. A blizzard traps Kendall with the Sawyer brothers, brothers who are willing to risk their lives for our story line heroine but the past refuses to let go, and Kendall goes on the offensive, prepared to take down the man who destroyed her life.
The world building focuses on healing and recovery. Kendall struggles to trust, and Alex’s need to protect is a threat to our story line heroine but Alex is not the man whom she fears, but a man who will take the time to learn the truth about the woman with whom he is falling in love.
The relationship between Kendall and Alex begins when Kendall arrives at the family owned lodge. Kendall needs a place to stay, and Alex immediately sees something in our story line heroine. Kendall struggles with Alex’s overprotective nature, seeing the demons from her past at every turn. The $ex scenes are erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters are energetic, determined and charismatic. We are introduced to the Sawyer siblings: Dash, Cameron, Bryan and physician Dr. Amberly Sawyer.
CLAIMED ON THE RIDGE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control,healing and recovery, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, dark and edgy; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are determined, desperate and tenacious.
