ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 10, 2025

I should have known I’d break the oath I made when I offered to let my best friend’s little sister move in with me…

She’s the sweetest woman on the face of the planet.

And to my great misfortune, the sexiest one, too.

She’s been living under her brother’s roof her entire life, and she’s ready to spread her wings.

And I’m the masochist who offers she stay at my place until she can find an apartment.

When I hear her having a nightmare, the only thing I can do is go to her. Hold her so she knows she’s safe from her demons.

The second she’s in my arms, the attraction I’ve tried to hide sparks to life. I know better than to push past the boundaries I’ve set for us, but when she begs me to touch her in a way she’s never been touched, I can’t resist.

And with my name on her lips as I send her soaring for the first time, I know there’s no going back.

I’m willing to break every rule and oath I’ve ever made to keep her.

Accept every consequence.

Only she and I have a dark, dangerous history that no one knows about.

And I’m afraid the consequences of loving her have just caught up to us…

REVIEW:After finishing book one in theMoonLit Ridge series (From Here to Eternity) I knew I was going to be hooked. Under an Endless Moon couldn’t come fast enough. A brother’s best friend romance filled with angst, secrets and spice, Under an Endless Moon is one of this author’s best pieces. As always I recommend reading the series in order, book one introduces these characters, but can be read as a standalone.

Tension in this book is crazy! We meet Raven in book one as River’s little sister, she is the owner of her own flower shop in their tiny town. Lately however, she has been struggling with wanting to spread her wings and live life to its fullest. Otto is her burly bear who has been embedded in her life for almost as long as she can remember playing the big brother. Too bad that is never how she could see him.

Otto has demons, dirty, dark demons that he doesn’t share with anyone. Raven is the one light in his light, the one thing he always wants to protect and never hurt. Even if that means he can never have her the way he wants her.

There is so so much angst in this book, like so much more than I was expecting, but it is so well done. We get more of Otto’s back story, what happened to his sister and even more of the demons that he holds. Raven is a complicated character that is determined to move on from her past but when chaos hits Otto is the first one to take her back. The character growth on River’s side as he has to learn to let his baby sister live her grown adult life was moving and adds another level of depth to their relationship. There is one specific moment for Raven that gives her the push she needs to start out on her own, and while it is funny, it leads her to staying with Otto.

Raven staying at Otto’s home pushes him to the point of no return, he has to face his feelings for her or take the risk of losing her for good. Holy Lordt, the spice when it hits is HOT. When Otto finally confesses, it is simply everything, his strong emotions, his need, his love for Raven makes all their years of pining worth it.

If you haven’t read this series before or the author please do so, both are so amazing

A Secret in the Family by Nancy Revell-review

A Secret in the Family  2 by Nancy Revell-review

Amazon.com / Amazon.ca / B&N / KOBO / Google Play / Chapters Indigo /

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 30, 2025

1945, Sunderland. Ida Boulter makes the heart-wrenching decision to leave her five children behind as she escapes her husband and moves to London to start afresh with the love of her life.

1953, County Durham. Ida’s children have since built a new life in the beautiful home of Cuthford Manor – looked after by their eldest sibling Angie and her husband.

But their world is about to be rocked once again when their mother turns up out of the blue for the first time in eight years.

She has come back bearing a secret she can no longer keep from her family.

Will telling the truth cause more harm than good?

Only their love for one another will carry them through the turbulent times ahead

••••

REVIEW: This is the first book by Nancy Revell that I’ve read.

In 1945 Ida makes the decision to leave her family and start a new life with a new love.

Poor Angie, being the eldest child she makes the decision to bring up her siblings! But it’s not all plain sailing! Angie also has to deal with her own issues.

Then 8 years later, their mother decides to come back and see how the family are. If she expected them to greet her with smiles and warmth, she was soon put in her place! Not all of the children are happy to see her!

But Ida has secrets, and this could rock the family once again!

I really like the character Angie, she didn’t have to take her siblings on, she could have walked away, but as we find out in the book Angie is made of stronger stuff. And watching her deal with her siblings and her own issues had me reaching for the tissues more than once.

Ida I had no real sympathy for, i understand some women need to leave the home (for whatever reason,) but to leave your children! If I’d been one of her daughters I’m not sure I could have ever forgiven her!

The other siblings, Marlene/Danny/Bertie and Jemima are mentioned and we do see how their lives go, but it’s mainly Angie.

Marlene and Danny make life difficult for Ida, they don’t want anything to do with her. But Bertie and Jemima were a lot younger when she left, so they are more open to hearing their mother out.

And the secrets that Ida holds close to her chest! Well 🤐…. No, you’ll need to read the book in order to find out. Are they earth shattering? In my opinion not really (and I guessed almost straight away what it was.)

It’s not my usual read. But saying that, I throughly enjoyed the story. Set in times where women didn’t really leave their husbands I found it interesting.

Apparently it’s part of a series. I’ll probably go back at some point to find out about the rest of the series, as I really liked the characters and the style of writing.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 4, 2025

Fate happened when they were busy making other plans.

Felicity Monroe lost her dream job. So, she headed to a secluded island where she could sip tropical drinks with umbrellas in them to escape reality. A delicious piece of dragon shifter only added to the appeal.

Unfortunately, as an Ember Witch, things were never that easy—not even a vacation.

Kai Aukai’s duty was to protect Pāhaʻohuna from humans. Of course, that involved working with the local coven. When the spell casters brought in witches from the mainland who hated each other, it complicated things. If they couldn’t get along, one had to leave.

Considering he mated Felicity, she had to stay.

Felicity’s moonlit dance brought more than the dragon shifter. Betrayal threatened to sabotage their mission. They all have to work together to save Pāhaʻohuna from human exposure. If they don’t, they’ll have to relive witch trials and dragon slayings.

••••

Sandy’s Review

GIVING THE DRAGON WATER is the third instalment in Victoria Jayne’s contemporary, adult ELEMENTAL DRAGONS erotic, paranormal, fantasy romance series. This is dragon Kai Aukai, and Ember witch Felicity Monroe’s story line. GIVING THE DRAGON WATER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Kai and Felicity) GIVING THE DRAGON WATER follows in the wake of Felicity Monroe’s arrival on Pāhaʻohuna island, an island of supernatural beings hidden from the human world. Pāhaʻohuna is struggling to keep their island a secret, and an Ember witch is needed to strengthen the wards. Meeting dragon shifter Kai Aukai finds our heroine reconsidering her future but the arrival of her estranged aunt precipitates a series of dangerous events that threaten the lives of the island inhabitants.

The world building focuses on a potential betrayal; the group known as the Coalition for Light whose aim it is to reveal the existence of the supernatural; and the power that comes with magic and madness.

The relationship between Kai and Felicity is one of fated mates but Felicity tends to waffle between awareness and obliviousness, often a little naïve to the point of exhaustion. Refusing to participate in the destruction of life, Felicity struggles with her abilities, and the demands of her kind. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and magical secondary and supporting characters including Office of Security Captain Makoa, Kilikilo coven witch Kiely, Felicity’s aunt Josephine; leader of the Ember witch coven Divina, and the return of dragons Gideon and his mate Ella, Declan and his mate Alisa.

GIVING THE DRAGON WATER is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and forgiveness, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is magical, intriguing and enchanting; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined, dynamic and desperate.

____________

Julie B’s 🦋 Review

Third book in the series (I read one and two, which were great 👍🏻) not really a requirement to read to enjoy this story. But I think it adds to the overall feel of the story.

Poor Felicity, losing the job she loves had her at a bit of a loose end. What better way to pick up the pieces and start again, than by going on holiday.

You would think so…..

Kai is a dragon shifter that protects the island he lives on. it’s his honour to protect and he does it fiercely. But they need to increase the protection spell, and so another witch is brought in to help….

I love the almost instant attraction the dragon side of Kai has, he wants what he wants and no one, not even Kai’s human side will stand in the way 😜

But it’s only a holiday romance? Not if fated mate rule comes into play! But can she really stay on an island that only wants you for your power!

There is also the fact another witch was brought to the island, and as it’s a family member, so we can expect rivalry and betrayal.

If you love a good shifter story with a fated mates trope, then I highly recommend this book and the series.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 7, 2025

The last thing I need while trying to make a success of my outdoor adventure company is a beautiful distraction. It takes all my focus to fight off the demons that remain from the injury that ended my career as a Royal Marine and deal with the clients that make me want to climb the nearest mountain and never come down.

But Parker Lawrence walks into our office, takes over a phone call, and changes everything. My desperate desire to keep her close has nothing to do with the fact that she’s sunshine personified—sweet, capable, and completely unfazed by my grumpitude and total lack of charm.

She’s also hiding something. I should mind my own business, but this bright Southern belle has gotten under my skin, and I want to save her every bit as much as it feels like she’s saving me.

When her secret catches up to her, I’ll do anything to keep her safe, even if those overprotective instincts risk driving away the best thing that’s ever walked into my life.

REVIEW:Beyond Highland Sunrise is book two in the Special Ops Scots series by Kait Nolan.

Handsome but broody Callum Quinn runs an outdoor adventure tour group in Glenlaig, Scotland. He runs it with his two best friends, Finn Patterson and Alex Conroy. Slowly getting their company – Out of Bounds Scotland, up and running
Callum doesn’t mind doing the tours but the last thing he wants to do it deal with people. Callum believes everyone sees him as a monster. It’s not only the resting ogre face, but the horrible scar that runs down the left side of his face right thru his eye. Everyone shows fear when they see him.

That is until Parker Lawrence walks into the office. Callum is on the phone with a customer that isn’t taking kindly to the way Callum is dealing with him. Parker walks right up and takes the phone out of Callum’s hand and takes over the call. She saves the customer and Callum by helping him out. Callum realizes that his appearance doesn’t scare her. He doesn’t scare her. He automatically tells her she’s hired. But Parker isn’t one hundred percent sure she wants the job or to settle in this town. Although getting a job was at the top of her list. And no one would find her in Glenlaig.
After discussion with all of the owners of Out of Bounds, Parker decides to take the job as office manager.

What begins as a slow burn of friendship turns into so much more between Callum and Parker. And I knew from the start that I was going to fall hard for Callum and he did not disappoint. Can Parker trust to tell Callum why she is hiding out in Scotland. Can Callum let down his guard and let Parker in.

This was a wonderful Scotland romance. With everything from special ops, friendships, and sheep. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I have not read book one but I will now be going back to find out more about the other characters. Highly recommend if you love everything Scotland.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 3, 2025

I entered an arranged marriage so my sister, Ciara, could marry for love. Three years later, I’m a widow, and my father arranges for Ciara to marry Dominik Varga. The assassin slash arms dealer is as dangerous as he’s quiet, which is very unnerving.

Needless to say, I’m not happy at all. A deal was a deal, and I kept my end of it, so there’s no way on God’s green earth I’ll just sit back and smile like a good little girl. I’ll fight for Ciara’s freedom so she won’t have to face the hell I was forced to endure.

But Dominik doesn’t make things easy for me. He’s determined to get his hands on half of Dad’s empire.
When he moves into my family home, my entire routine unravels. I have to fight for more than just my sister’s freedom because I’m in danger of losing my heart.

I refuse to admit I’m drawn to his darkness. If I do, God only knows whether we’ll survive the fire raging between us.

•••••

REVIEW:The Hermit is book one in the Mafia Empire series by Michelle Heard.

Dominik Varga is 38-year-old assassin and arms dealer with the mafia. He prefers to be alone or with his “sister” Evinka Fico. When Dominik is hired to rescue the daughter of the Irish Mafia boss Ian Devlin he takes the job.

Grace Devlin is 32 years old and she has been kidnapped, beaten and almost left for dead. That is until she is rescued by a talk dark stranger and returned to her father. The price her father is willing to pay for her return – he wants Dominik to marry one of Devlin’s daughters. Dominik agrees to his wishes and asks for fifty percent of Devlin’s company.
Devlin agrees to allow his younger daughter Ciara to marry Dominik. Much to Grace’s denial.

Grace was forced into an arranged marriage before, and her husband beat and raped her constantly. That is until he was assassinated. Now back home with her father, there is no way Grace will allow Ciara to marry for Anything other reason than love. She will risk her life to save her sister. Dominik finds Grace’s willingness to risk her life to save her sister – endearing.

Grace’s father asks both of his daughters to get to know Dominik over the next few days that he will be staying with them.
Dominik already has his mind made up – he wants the fiery sister. Ian Devlin doesn’t want to give Grace to Dominik. The day before the wedding is to take place, Ciara runs away. Leaving Grace to deal with the dark, handsome, stranger. In the end Dominik chooses Grace.

Will Grace ever be able to let down her walls and find love for the first time.
Will she be able to put the trauma of her past to rest and recover with the life she deserves with Dominik?

I absolutely loved this book. Dominik is the dark and brooding type who you just want to break down his walls for him.
He is deadly and demanding on one note and loving and protective the next. He fell hard for Grace despite her previous trauma’s and triggers.

This book was full of mafia violence, romance and a slow build to love and trust. I can’t wait for book two. Highly recommend.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 25, 2025

My name’s Cat, and boy, do I have a tale for you. Imagine waking up to find yourself in a world utterly devoid of life’s essentials—no Netflix, no Wi-Fi, and, brace yourself, not a single Starbucks in sight. Where, you ask? Well, that’s a nightmare I’m still unraveling.

Here’s the scoop: one moment I’m pulling off a daring stunt on a Hollywood set, and the next, I’m gasping for air in a realm that’s straight out of a fantasy novel. This place? It’s overrun with werewolves, vampires, warlocks, fae and, to top it off, dragons. Yes, actual fire-breathing dragons!

But wait, there’s more—I’ve somehow taken the place of my doppelgänger Lady Arya Ryder, a noblewoman whose reputation is as tarnished as an old sword. Now, caught in the mess she left behind, I’ve got no choice but to navigate this medieval minefield. And then there’s Damien Drakonar, the third prince. He’s a dragon, yes, but not the knight-in-shining-armor type.

No, Damien is the sort who would sooner burn you alive than glance your way. He’s a perilous enigma, straddling the line between savior and destroyer. Despite our mutual contempt, our fates are ominously intertwined as we face the devastation Arya’s actions have unleashed.

Now my only option is to find my way back home and fast, but many obstacles stand in my way—including Damien. Will I ever make it back home? Only the shadows hold the answers.

•••••

REVIEW:This author can always be relied upon to deliver a detailed and amazing story. It’s got some graphic fight scenes. Yes it has a mild cliffhanger (next book not out till April!) But don’t let that stop you from enjoying this read.

Cat is a stunt artist, she loves her job. But on a shoot she’s transported to another world (literally!) This one has dragons/witches/vampires and real werewolves! She’s got a temper, but also a wicked sense of humour, and I feel she’s going to need it.

Damien starts this book off, he’s a dragon shifter about to shift for the first time…. But that’s not allowed! Why? Well…. Apparently he killed his mother in childbirth 😞 and his father hears of a prophecy and locks down his dragon and his son! He allows him to leave his cage to look for his mate, then he will be free to claim his throne.

Lady Arya has been replaced by Cat. But what of her story? Apparently she’s not a nice person (which given Cat looks/sounds and acts different from Lady Arya how does no one spot she’s missing?)

So many other characters in this book will either help or hinder our reluctance heroine.
A warlock (Garrick) who wants to help her return to her world (hmm, why do I think there is more to it than meets the eye!) Maeve (Arya’s servant) could she be friend or foe? She seems to want to help Cat find a way home. And the lovely Gianna, who is in love with Damien (that’s got to cause waves somewhere along the line!)

And the ending? Well! I wasn’t sure how it would end, but I didn’t think it would end that way! 🫣

Don’t think Cat is going home anytime soon!

If your in the mood for a world of doppelgängers/dragons/warlocks/witches and fae, then I’m going to recommend this book, I was captured from the first word.

Everyone overlooks her but him.

Peace Jinkins prefers books and music to people. Unlike her famous parents and her twin sister, Peace is painfully shy. She has no friendships outside her family.
Until she meets Bo.

Everyone sees him as trouble but her.

Robert ‘Bo’ Jackson is good at one thing. He is an amazing guitarist like his father. Not that his father will ever admit it. They don’t get along. In fact, like most people, Bo’s father thinks he is a lost cause. Bo hides his hurt behind a wall of bad attitude. He doesn’t let anyone close.
Until he meets Peace.

Bo confronts his critics head on, sometimes violently. Peace quietly retreats from them. But with their fathers being in the same rock band, they understand each other and form an unlikely friendship.

What happens when external pressures almost immediately conspire against them? Will they become enemies? Can they remain friends? What about the forbidden attraction between them? Will confessing their secret desires to each other make them closer or will it ultimately destroy them in the end?

•••••

REVIEW:Shooting Star by Michelle Mankin is the second generation rockstar romance. This series follows the children or the main charachters from The Tempest series.

Peace Jinkins, is super shy, introvert who loves to read. Her twin sister Harmony and the rest of her family are all outgoing. Sometimes Peace doesn’t feel she belongs anywhere – not even in her own home. That is until Christmas break when all of her dads bandmates and families get together to celebrate the holiday. Thats when she meets rebellious Bo Jackson.

Bo is the son of Tempest guitarist Bryan Jackson. Bo hasn’t had much luck in school, friends or really anything. Everyone sees him as a trouble maker. But Peace sees something else. Something different. She’s drawn to him and he is drawn to her. But with everyone telling her to stay away from Peace, will their friendship be able to turn into more.

Its a rocky road for these two characters –

their parents don’t want them around each other for good reasons. And they struggle to maintain the friendship that means so much to them. Can they survive being more than friends, will their families accept them? Or will they lose the one person that feels like home to them?

This book contains a lot of relatable family dynamics and is a wonderful slow building read. I enjoyed the relationship of Peace and Bo – although Bo has alot of issues he needed to deal with by the end I enjoyed hom so much! Highly recommend!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 16, 2025

Sometimes stars grant you wishes that come covered in blood.

I’ve wanted one thing for as long as I can remember – someone to love, a family, and a happily ever after. I finally found it with the least likely person across the street. Our life together has been dipped in espresso and given a massive jolt forward, but we couldn’t be happier.

That is, until someone threatens that happiness and I’m forced to respond in order to protect my family that’s barely begun. I didn’t mean for this relationship to begin bathed in blood but I will do anything to protect the love I’ve waited decades for.

••••••

REVIEW: Now, I absolutely loved the first book in this series “Loren”, and I mistakenly thought Noaz was a brother to Loren. He’s not, he’s an uncle! But with that mistake sorted I inhaled this book. It was totally worth reading past my bedtime.

Characters were just so adorable, catching up with previous characters and finding out that this world is connected to the “For Puck’s Sake series” is an added bonus, it makes me want to reread that series to see if I can spot any Van Doren’s 😉 I know of one.

Noaz Van Doren is an uncle, they control New York City with their crew. But lately they’ve been feeling that they need to step back and begin their next phase/journey. Noaz isn’t your typical contract killer, they answer to either he/she/they, all depends on how they are feeling that day. They also dress accordingly.

Briar is friends with a group of people that moved recently. (Due to one of the characters in these books.) They are all the best of friends, which makes relationships a little tricky. But Briar is not sure where his life is taking him! He’s non committal about his job and he’s in between relationships at the moment, and he’s in no hurry to change either status!

What Briar secretly yearns for is a family of his own!

You don’t need to read this series in order. Other characters do crop up, but as they are family and apparently they will all get involved with the Van Doren’s at some point! and I love this series already, so I’m looking forward to seeing more of them.

It is a slow burn romance, and for one I’m glad. We needed to see how Briar, who has only ever dated girls copes with Noaz. And I loved how he just accepted them. All the shows of affection were just so sweet.

Their relationship goes from 0 to 100 in a matter of weeks…. Noaz had always planned to have a family, and adoption was really the only option (they didn’t want a surrogate, just a baby to love.)

And when the opportunity arises, Noaz is faced with a dilemma! Do they go ahead and possibly lose the love of their life? Or can Noaz have both Briar and a baby?

Things don’t go smoothly though! And Noaz is left with choices, return to being the cold killer they were, and loosing their unborn baby, or ignoring the baby’s plight to keep Briar!

What happens next? 🤫 I can’t tell you, you’ll have to read the book to find out 😉

The only problem I now have…. I have to wait for the next book. 😜
