REVIEW:COOPER is the third instalment in Josie Joanne’s contemporary, adult WARRIOR SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series, a spin off from the author’s RESTING WARRIOR RANCH series. This is Ryan ‘Coop’ Cooper, and photographer Mia Thornton’s story line. COOPER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Coop and Mia) COOPER follows Ryan ‘Coop’ Cooper undercover with a underground militia group as they prepare for an upcoming arms sale but Coop never expected to come face to face with his past, the woman from who he walked away six years earlier. Photographer Mia Thornton was on assignment for a local realtor and found herself the prisoner of the man she once loved. In an effort to save her life, Ryan Cooper claims Mia as his own but the man in charge, Julian Oliver, has other plans for our story line heroine.

The world building focuses on protecting Mia Thornton. Ryan Cooper walked away six years earlier but the possibility of losing Mia to an assassin’s bullet meant Ryan must find a way to protect the woman whose heart he once destroyed.

The relationship between Ryan and Mia is one of second chances. Ryan had been struggling with the loss of his team, and believed he was unworthy of forever with the woman he loved. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, familiar and dangerous secondary and supporting characters including the return of Beckett and Audra, tech specialist and recluse Travis Hale; Pawsitive Connections owner Lark Monroe, and Sheriff Lachlan Galloway (Montana Justice/ Resting Warrior Ranch 11). The requisite evil has many faces.

This is US Navy Marine Xander Holt, and thirty-four year old Limaj education minister and teacher Princess Elen Gustaffson’s story line. XANDER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross over with the mention of the author’s Las Vegas Sidewinders series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Elen and Xander) XANDER follows in the building but tempestuous relationship between our story line couple. Xander Holt left the US Marines for a position with the Limaj Royal Protectors.His assignment-protect Princess Elen Gustaffson, a snarky, overworked and energetic woman who is struggling with her place in the family. Not only her fellow parliamentarians taking aim, but the past refuses to take no for an answer, and targets our story line heroine.

The world building follows the building relationship between our story line couple as Elen must come to terms with the misogyny of parliament, and the overwhelming need for security in the wake of the family history and lives. The relationship between Xander and Elen is one of constant conflict and squabbling, a conflict that hides a palpable sexual attraction. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Prince Sandor, and Lennox Briggs, Prince Daniil, the introduction of Natalia Farka; Tahitian islanders Samaria and Fetu; Security specialists Axel and Marcus, and the return of Omar Daishel.

XANDER is a story of power and control, obsession and madness, family and friendships, relationships and love, The premise is dramatic and intriguing; the romance is impassioned; the characters are desperate and dynamic.

Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Natalia was first introduced in book two Zander.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ryan and Natalia) COOPER follows in the wake of the rescue of Ryan Cooper. Captain Ryan Cooper was Natalia Farkas’ commander while serving in the Middle East but a barely veiled attraction struggles with Natalia’s leave to go work with the Royal family in Limaj, her home country of origin. Natalie continues to struggle with PTSD, and when news of Ryan Cooper’s capture reaches home Natalie battles between head and heart believing she has lost again. A US Navy SEAL rescue, and inevitable recovery for Ryan in Germany forces Ryan to reconsider his future when Natalia offers her help and support, and a possible future with the Limaj Royal Protectors. REVIEW: COOPER is the tenth instalment in Lane Hart and DB West’s contemporary, adult SAVAGE KINGS MC erotic, MC romance story line focusing on the Savage Kings MC. This is attorney Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Townsend, and Cooper Cummings’ story line. COOPER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history as there is an on-going premise throughout.

Told form dual first person perspectives (Liz and Cooper) COOPER follows in the aftermath of the explosion that destroyed Savage Ink tattoo studio, and the Savage Kings MC strip club Avalon, killing a dancer, and severely injuring our story line hero. Two years earlier, Cooper Cummings began a ‘sex’ only affair with his attorney Elizabeth Townsend, but Cooper’s demands for something more push Elizabeth out of his life until desperate times called for desperate measures. The death of Jenna Higgins left her four month old daughter Ruby without a family, and Cooper made it his mission to bring Ruby home into the fold. Needing a ‘marriage of convenience’ in order to adopt Ruby, Cooper asks Liz for her hand in marriage, a marriage to which Liz agrees, in name only. What ensues is the building romance and love between Liz and Cooper, and the potential fall-out as Cooper struggles with what will never be.

Liz Townsend doesn’t do relationships and her ‘sex-only’ affair with Cooper Cummings was exactly what she needed but when Cooper developed feelings for our story line heroine, Liz panicked and kicked Cooper out of her life. Cooper Cummings didn’t know when he started to fall for his beautiful attorney but knew he blew the day he asked for something more. The explosion at the club left Cooper struggling in more ways than one but he never expected to need Liz more than he did at the moment.

The relationship between Liz and Cooper is a friends with benefits that turns into something more. Cooper is willing to risk his heart but Liz struggles with the possibility of destroying her career if caught associating with the Savage Kings MC. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including club president Torin Fury; MC members Chase, Abe, Reece, Dalton, Cedric, Miles, Jade, Ian and Gabe; Liz’s childhood friend Owen, and secretary Barbara. Ian and Gabe’s story line is next.

COOPER is a story of betrayal and vengeance; family, friendship, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and engaging; the romance is heavy and hot; the characters are energetic, colorful and sassy. If you are a fan of the MC romance genre, I recommend giving the Savage Kings MC a try.
