REVIEW: OVER THE EDGE is the third instalment in Kat Mizera’s contemporary, adult CRIMSON EDGE erotic, rock, romance series focusing on the members of the band CRIMSON EDGE . This is twenty-six year old rhythm guitarist Tate Jeffries, and twenty-eight year old, waitress/baker Summer’s story line. OVER THE EDGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Tate And Summer) OVER THE EDGE follows in the aftermath of several days together. Their bus breaking down in a storm, finds the members of Crimson Edge seeking shelter at a local cafe where Guitarist Tate Jeffries will meet his future in the guise of waitress Summer. Several days together ends when Tate must head back on the road, a time in which Summer will discover she is pregnant with our hero’s baby. Struggling to accept, Tate wants proof, and in the ensuing melee, a marriage of convenience, issues of trust, and an emergency back home pull Summer out of Tate’s life, leaving a struggling Tate wondering where everything went wrong.

The world building follows Tate on tour as Summer struggles with obligations and commitments back home. Regardless of what Tate is offering, Summer refuses to accept the possibility of a happily ever after.

The relationship between Tate and Summer begins as a whirlwind affair. Several days together, ends with Tate heading back on tour, and Summer believing nothing more to come but a pregnancy test comes back positive, and Tate’s initial reaction sends Summer into a spiral. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include the return of the members of Crimson Edge, their significant others, as well as Summer’s boss Dolly Harris, and Summer’s mother Tricia.

OVER THE EDGE is a story of trust and struggle; family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is edgy and entertaining-there is no outside conflict; the characters are determined and dynamic; the romance is seductive and passionate.

This is Crimson Edge bass player Michael ‘ Mick’ Lipson, and model Taryn Blakely’s story line. EDGE OF HEAVEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross over with the author’s LA Phantoms Hockey series.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Mick and Taryn) EDGE OF HEAVEN focuses on the building relationship between Crimson Edge bass player Michael ‘ Mick’ Lipson, and model Taryn Blakely. A few years earlier, Mick and Taryn spent three glorious days together but life and everything else got in the way. Mick promised but didn’t call, and Taryn is struggling with the decision in her life. Fast forward to present day, Taryn is currently involved wit Callum Yates, lead guitarist for Karnal Death, a man who is controlling and abusive but Taryn has a secret, and is unable to walk away without someone else getting hurt. Mick is determined to save the woman with whom he is falling in love but he isn’t sure said woman wants to be saved.

The world building focuses on Taryn’s relationship with her abusive and controlling boyfriend, a man who is virtually holding our heroine hostage. Taryn needs something that only Callum can provide, and in this, she believes she owes Callum more than she is hoping to give. Mick wants nothing more than to claim Taryn as his own but the closer they get, the more problems for Taryn at home, and if Callum goes down, he’s taking Taryn and Mick with him.

The relationship between Mick and Taryn is one of second chances but Taryn is in a relationship, and Mick struggles with Taryn’s current situation. The longer Taryn remains with Callum, the worse it gets, and Mick is determined to protect our heroine form the ongoing blackmail that is threatening her life. Our couple is not together for most of the story as they Taryn must work through her problems before setting herself free. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters are energetic and determined including the return of the members of Crimson Edge: drummer Angus Jeffries, and twenty-four year old, journalist Ryleigh Bell, lead singer Jonny Gold, band manager Sasha Petrov (Anatoli -Las Vegas Sidewinders 4)and lead guitarist Sam Fielding; Taryn’s mother Tracy Blakely, and Karnal Death lead guitarist Callum Yates; designer Alexa Humboldt, and supermodel Stevie Marchand.

EDGE OF HEAVEN is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power, abuse and control, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, gritty and edgy; the romance is limited but seductive; the characters are desperate and charismatic.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Angus and Ryleigh) LIVING ON THE EDGE follows Ryleigh Tucker as she struggles to make a name for herself in the world of music journalism. Ryleigh’s late father worked for the music magazine Rock Harder, and gifted his daughter a shot a fame working for Rich Fowler and Rock Harder magazine. A music reviewer and online blogger, Ryleigh is desperate for a full-time job, and her first assignment is to write an expose on the up and coming rock band Crimson Edge but from the outset Ryleigh’s place with the band is fraught with issues of trust, and when secrets are revealed, Ryleigh is forced to take the blame for something she did not do. Crimson Edge drummer Angus Jeffries is hiding a secret, and if exposed, his life with the band may spiral out of control but Ryleigh Tucker is about to uncover a much darker series of lies, and pay the price for someone else’s sins.

The world building focuses on the dynamics of the band as the pressure to succeed is threatened by someone else’s jealousy and hate. A perceived betrayal will push Ryleigh out of Angus’ life, a betrayal meant to destroy and break out story line hero. As the band begins their climb towards stardom, someone else is determined to take them down.

The relationship between Angus and Ryleigh begins acrimoniously as the band isn’t found of someone reporting their every move but Angus quickly discovers Ryleigh is much more than a wanna-be journalist, she is the woman who is about to destroy his heart.
