ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 15, 2025

Luckless. If ever there was a word that describes Brent “Blue” Wallace, that’s it. Abandoned by drug-addicted parents as a toddler. Abused and mistreated in foster homes. Runaway teen. Working for a man who treats him like garbage and pays him next to nothing. Blue’s only joy is playing in a little cover band in rundown watering holes outside Macon, Georgia, on the weekends and writing the occasional song. Oh, and finding a woman at the bar to spend a night with. His boss hates him. His neighbors hate him and his crappy little house with the overgrown yard and beer cans lying about. Nobody hates him more than he does.

But when an unexpected “gift” turns up on his doorstep, it spins his world upside down. In his eyes, Indigo Darling Wallace is a blue-eyed, shrieking alien life form who leaks from every orifice in her body and terrifies him. He doesn’t want a baby; he can’t take care of one. It feels best to offer her to the neighbor who wears scrubs and already has two kids, until she explains to him that if he doesn’t keep her, she’ll go into the foster system.

Over Blue Wallace’s dead body.

In a six-month time span, Blue learns a lot about life and about himself. And just when he thinks things are finally going right for him, a demon from the bowels of Hell comes knocking to rip his world apart. It’s the challenge of Blue’s lifetime. If he wins, he takes it all. But if he loses, the chance at a happy life with a good woman and three precious kids slips away forever. So, fight or run? It’s time for Blue Wallace to make his own luck. And for the first time ever, he won’t be fighting alone.

REVIEW: BABY BLUE is the second instalment in Deanndra Hall’s contemporary, adult SMALL TOWN SOUTHERN BOYS romance series. This is mechanic/ musician Brent ‘Blue’ Wallace, and thirty-five year old single mother / registered nurse Anne Black’s story. BABY BLUE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Blue and Anne) BABY BLUE follows in the aftermath of Blue’s discovery he is the father of a six month old baby girl. Brent ‘Blue’ Wallace has been struggling all his life, in and out of the foster care system, uneducated and the proverbial boss from h*ll but a one-night stand months earlier resulted in a pregnancy he knew nothing about, and a surprise basket on his front step changed the course of his life forever. Desperate for help, Blue begs for help from his neighbor Anne Black, a single mother of two who is about to give Blue a crash course on child rearing but things go from bad to worse as Blue’s life begins to spiral out of control, until the day a music producer hears his songs, and the offer of a lifetime comes from a former client.

The world building follows the growing relationship between Blue and Anne as Blue must traverse a minefield of personal struggles from disrespect and job loss, to child services and combative bosses and neighbors but the ultimate betrayal are the lies inflicted by someone he does not know, and the return of the child’s mother who is determined to take back the child from whom she walked away.

The relationship between Anne and Blue begins acrimoniously as their friendship is nothing more than embattled neighbors but Anne recognizes a man in trouble, and takes control when our hero is struggling to survive under the pressure of instant fatherhood. Time spent together feels like a growing family, and Blue is determined to make Anne his own. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Anne’s children Polly and Toady, as well as both Anne and Blue’s co-workers, musicians, lawyers, clients, as well as Blue’s ex-Cindy.All of Anne’s friends are very supportive; Blue’s friend’s are questionable until he meets a man who is willing to give him a chance.

BABY BLUE is a story of secrets and lies, power and control, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is engaging but more telling than showing, and the writing style feels different from her other series; the characters are charismatic; the romance is subtle and fated.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 5, 2025

Avery Holcomb is tired of people taking things from him – his place in the family company, his job, even his wife (by his brother, no less). When he’s had enough, he drives away from Clarksville, Tennessee, with nothing but his trust fund to look for a better life. One stop in a convenience store just across the Texas border hands him the chance to have those literal greener pastures and more, and he grabs hold with both hands.

In the blink of an eye, someone is trying to take the ranch he bought for a song, and this time, it’s the former owner’s great-granddaughter. Lydia Kinsey is a thorn in his side. She’s the most aggravating, annoying, persistent, beautiful, sexy hellion who’s ever crossed Avery’s path, and as much as he hates her for threatening him, he wants her with everything in him. The kiss he gives her to shut her up in front of a local diner full of patrons infuriates her, but he has a feeling it also lit her fire just as it did his.

It doesn’t take him long to figure out that Lydia has secrets, and he’s determined to uncover them, even if it means sending her to jail. Her apology is their turning point, and in one smoldering evening, “down on the farm” takes on a whole new meaning for Avery. But some other force is at work there, an evil one, and without intervention, there’s a good chance that they’ll never see the happily ever after together that they both want so badly.

REVIEW: MORE THAN ANYTHING is the first instalment in Deanndra Hall’s contemporary, adult SMALL TOWN SOUTHERN BOYS erotic, romance series. This is Avery Holcomb, and Lydia Kinsey’s story line.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Avery and Lydia) MORE THAN ANYTHING follows Avery Holcomb on a new start in life. Fired from the family auto parts business, Avery packs up and leaves Tennessee for something bigger or better, finding himself near Texarkana Texas, and the proud owner of a struggling ranch. Within days, the previous owner’s great granddaughter Lydia Kinsey lays claim to the ranch, and Avery begins a legal and emotional battle for the place he now calls home.

The world building follows Avery and Lydia’s legal and personal battles including Avery’s struggle with the people he left behind. From the outset, the maturity of the main characters is questionable; Lydia finds herself in trouble with her actions and behavior; the locals keep tabs on Avery’s love life.

The relationship between Lydia and Avery is enemies to friends to lovers. Lydia refuses to back down but struggles to reveal why she is so adamant about taking control of her great grandfather’s estate. Avery wanted a new start but never expected to fall in love with our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

We are introduced to Avery’s roommate Jason Davidson, his brother Ben Holcomb, ex Shannon, and local girl Danette, whose reputation is infamous in and around the town Avery calls home.

MORE THAN ANYTHING is a story of secrets and obsession, madness and mayhem, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is engaging and interesting but a little different than Deanndra’s usual writing style. The characters are energetic and determined; the romance is impassioned.

••••••

REVIEW: A DANGEROUS MAN is the eight instalment in Deanndra Halls’ contemproary, adult APPALACHIAN STAR, romantic suspense series, a part of the multi-authored Special Forces: Operation Alpha series focusing on characters originally introduced by author Susan Stoker. This is Miles ‘Bear’ McMillan, and FBI Agent Sela Baldwin. A DANGEROUS MAN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Appalachian STAR, is a search and rescue operation that hires former inmates from US prisons, effectively giving them a second chance.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sela and Bear) A DANGEROUS MAN follows the building but contemptuous relationship between our story line couple. Miles ‘Bear’ McMillan served thirty years for killing a man, a killing he doesn’t remember. Living and working with the men and women at Appalachian STAR gives Bear a second chance at life including the possibility of falling in love for the very first time. Bear has fallen in love with FBI Agent Sela Baldwin, a cantankerous, independent and strong-willed woman currently recovering from a protection duty that went all to h*ll (A Tormented Man 6). Struggling with her slow recovery, Sela needs an escape but Bear’s daily visits are becoming problematic for a woman who is constantly at odds and battles the people in charge. Moving in together, Bear and Sela find a complicated rhythm but they will quickly discover that all is not well going forward. The Cartel has targeted our story line heroine, taking aim at Sela and Judge Natalie Anderson, thus pulling the entire community together to protect the people who protect their own. What ensues is the building and highly sexually relationship between Sela and Bear, and the fall-out as Appalachian STAR calls in additional help, only to have one of their own go rogue, threatening the safety of everyone concerned.

The world building follows several paths including the questionable attitude and personality of our story line heroine, the man who fell in love with a woman who borders on the unlikeable; and the protection of our couple in the face of threats from the Cartel.

The relationship between Bear and Sela is aggressive and provocative. Sela wants something more than Bear was willing to admit, eventually discovering their mutual wants and needs including the possibility of someone else. There was quite a bit of talk about the possibility of multiple partners but so far nothing has come to fruition. The $ex scenes are impassioned and energetic.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and charismatic secondary and supporting characters including several of the previous story line couples: Natalie and Paddy, Patch and Penny, Reboot, Bulldog, as well as a numerous characters from the interconnected series.

A DANGEROUS MAN is a story of acceptance and forgiveness, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and gritty; the romance is intoxicating; the characters are determined, struggling, and dynamic

REVIEW: A FIERCE MAN is the seventh instalment in Deanndra Hall’s contemporary, adult APPLACHIAN STAR romantic suspense series, a part of the multi-authored Special Forces: Operation Alpha series focusing on characters originally introduced by author Susan Stoker. This is forty-seven year old, former prison inmate Darius ‘Priest’ Fowler, and middle school teacher Augustina ‘Aggie’ Henry’s story line. A FIERCE MAN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary,

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Priest and Aggie) A FIERCE MAN follows the building relationship between our story line couple. Darius ‘Priest’ Fowler currently lives and works for Appalachian STAR search and rescue in Mallie Kentucky but having spent close to thirty years in prison, enduring abuse and hardship throughout , Darius is a changed man. Meeting teacher Aggie Henry at a middle school ‘scared straight’ presentation, Darius new Aggie would be the woman to claim his heart. A date, and an introduction to his fellow Appalachian STAR members, Aggie will become one of their own but not everyone easily accepts Darius for his history, and he is about to discover that prejudices run high especially for an African American man with a dangerous past. Aggie Henry is a determined, independent and single minded African American woman, and often chooses to place herself in the direct line of fire but an incident at school brings Aggie up close and personal with true evil, and any thoughts of personal preservation or the man that she loves become non-existent as Aggie battles with a force she is unable to stop. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Aggie and Darius, and the potential fall-out as Aggie’s actions threaten everyone involved.

The world building follows several paths including a search and rescue; Aggie’s aggressive and less than understanding family; and a man with a vendetta against our story line heroine.

The relationship between Darius and Aggie is one of immediate attraction but Darius struggles with his past history, and Aggie is a woman determined to take control. Aggie has accepted everything about Darius and his history but she is often single-minded in her attempts to manage that which cannot always be managed. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including many of the previous story line couples. We are introduced to Aggie’s immediate family, several co-workers and embattled children at the school. The requisite evil has many faces.

A FIERCE MAN is a story of power and control, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and consuming; the romance is provocative and seductive; the characters are determined, animated and wounded.

REVIEW:A TORMENTED MAN is the sixth instalment in Deanndra Hall’s contemporary, adult APPALACHIAN STAR erotic, romance series, a part of the multi-authored Special Forces: Operation Alpha series focusing on characters first introduced by author Susan Stoker. This is forty-one year Eastern District Federal Judge Natalie Anderson, and forty-four year old former inmate and Appalachian STAR Search and Rescue member Dennis ‘ Paddy’ O’Brien’s story line. A TORMENTED MAN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

SOME BACKGROUND: Appalachian STAR is a search and rescue operation set in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, an operation that hires former inmates from the US prison system.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Natalie and Dennis) A TORMENTED MAN follows in the wake of the introduction between Judge Natalie Anderson, and Dennis ‘Paddy’ O’Brien. Imprisoned for nine years for the death of his business partner, Dennis O’Brien lost everything including his wife and children. Hoping for a new start, Dennis is ready to start over but his bedroom proclivities require someone special. Enter Judge Natalie Anderson, the woman with whom Dennis will fall in love. A mutual friend will introduce Natalie and Dennis, and from the outset, the attraction is immediate but Natalie has been targeted by the Mexican Cartel, and the FBI is struggling to keep our heroine safe.

The world building is detailed as the focus follows Natalie at work, and he developing relationship with our story line hero. Dennis O’Brien not only works for Appalachian STAR but he is ready to take the next step to become IG a certified EMT.

The relationship between Natalie and Dennis is one of immediate attraction ; an insta-lust to insta-love relationship in which Dennis knows Natalie is the woman to heal his soul and claim his heart but threats against Natalie brings protection from law enforcement and the FBI, protection that is caught in the direct line of fire. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of the over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including the team at Appalachian STAR, their extended families and friends, as well as several characters from the interconnected Special Forces: Operation Alpha world. We are introduced to Natalie’s parents, Dennis’ parents, as well as his ex Lisa, and their children Tegan and Borden, and FBI Agent Sela. There is something developing between Bear and Sela.

A TORMENTED MAN is a story of power and control, betrayal and threats, accusations and vindication, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing and compelling; the romance is seductive; the characters are broken but serious and strong willed.

Deanndra Hall is a working author living in the far western end of the beautiful Bluegrass State with her husband of over 35 years and small menagerie of weird little dogs. When she’s not writing, she’s editing. When she’s doing neither of those two things, she’s having dinner with friends, spending time with family, kayaking, eating chocolate, drinking beer or moonshine, or looking for something that she put in the wrong place and can’t seem to find (which is pretty much everything she owns).
