REVIEW: REMORSELESS is the fifth instalment in Kathryn C Kelly’s contemporary, adult DEATH DWELLERS MC: Legacy Generation, dark, MC series set in the author’s Death Dweller’s MC world. REMORSELESS, like the previous instalments, continues to focus on the multi-generational membership in the Death Dwellers MC. Most of the original couples and characters from the Death Dwellers MC series play significant roles in the current timelines. I recommend reading the original series as well as RECKLESS book one of The Legacy Generation as many of the past events are referenced. Many of the characters are under sixteen years of age, the series is intended for mature readers only.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence, strong language and questionable themes, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives using present day, memories from the past , divided into Acts and Interludes REMORSELESS continues to focus on the fight for power between brothers, sisters, friends and enemies. Secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance give way to accusations, abuse, violence and death. As the second generation battle to find a place in the hierarchy of the Death Dwellers MC, madness takes hold, revealing a darkness that has taken control.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of controversial, unlikeable and questionable characters. Secrets and manipulation threaten the sanity of both generations, begat by the original members whose plots and schemes took aim, and continuing to focus on the people in charge. The characters are contentious, controversial, backstabbing and destructive. Betrayal, secrets and lies have led to issues of trust in a family where the dynamics are questionable and tragic.

REMORSELESS, like the previous instalments, is dark, dramatic, intense and shocking, and may be difficult for many readers The language is graphic; the actions of the characters is problematic; and violence, retribution and mania are threatening the stability of the Death Dwellers MC, and in this, the next generation may not be ready to assume control.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives RUPTURED , once again, focuses on the broken and deteriorating dynamics of not only the Caldwell family (Megan,Christopher and their eight children) but the dysfunctional Death Dwellers MC. Covering but a few days in the life, RUPTURED continues to focus on Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell, president of the Death Dwellers MC, and his fragile control over his family, his MC, and the people in his life. His love for his wife Meggie blinds him to the reality of what is happening, and at every level, Christopher confronts betrayal from outside and within. As his own children begin to lose respect, and take on a more pivotal role in his MC world, family will betray family, as a fight for power continues to build behind the scenes. Sins of the past are about to expose the truth as Meggie and their daughter Rebel, fight for their lives, betrayed by someone they love. Once again, accusations, perceived infidelity, abuse, violence and death are but an everyday part of the Death Dwellers MC and Christopher is unable to protect the people he loves.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of questionable, contentious, dubious and unpleasant characters as someone undertakes to gain control; destroy family and friendships, for the sake of past betrayals, secrets and lies. The characters are tragic, demeaning, controversial and catastrophic-lives, psyches and minds will be damaged-deadly intent is meant to wreak havoc on Christopher’s thread-bare control.

RUPTURED is a dark, gritty, dramatic and edgy story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, violence and fear, accusations and suspicion. The character driven premise is raw, unconventional, twisted and tragic-the language is graphic, forceful and may be offensive to some readers ; the characters are brutal, deviant, broken and haunting.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives using present day, memories from the past , divided into Acts and Interludes RUTHLESS continues to follow several intersecting pathways, focusing on the struggling relationship between Death Dwellers MC president Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell, and his ol’lady, wife and mother of his seven children Meggie. Another woman is threatening our story line couple but for all intents and purposes Outlaw refuses to destroy the woman who is trying to destroy his life while a ghost from the past continues to stalk the woman he loves. While his own brother Johnnie continues his downward spiral, Outlaw considers ending the lives of everyone who has ever crossed the line, targeting his family.

Once again, secrets and lies, power and control, betrayal and vengeance, murder and abuse are at the forefront of the story line premise. Deceit and pretense, subterfuge and hypocrisy are but a few of the perceptions and views throughout the series, gaining a strong foothold as distrust, suspicion, fear and concern are heightened as Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell continues to lose control not only of his family, his club, but of his own mind. Outlaw is unable to trust those closest to him, and the fall-out is threatening everyone he loves.

There is a large ensemble cast of questionable, dislikable, controversial and tragic characters most of whom we have met in the original series and the current spin-off. Most of the characters are not redeemable; are manipulative and destructive on many levels; the lack of maturity and education is obvious; there is no romance; $ex is a tool, morals are absent, ethics non existent ; obsession is rampant but the professions of love are numerous and somewhat questionable. Outlaw struggles to protect his wife, his daughter and his club but protection comes at a cost.

RUTHLESS is another dark, gritty, dramatic and tragic story of several generations lost to the violence that controls their lives. The Death Dwellers MC: Legacy Generation is not a story/series about hearts and flowers-happily ever afters are for fairy tales and romance novels.

Although several of the characters are under sixteen years old, the entirety of the premise is intended for mature readers. While CJ Caldwell is torn between friendships and family, his story line bleeds and blends into the overarching premise, as the originals, the members, and the legacy fight for control at the top.

Secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, murder and abuse, obsession and madness are but a few of the significant conceptualizations throughout the story, in the end, deception and dishonesty are but the tip of the proverbial iceberg as club president Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell struggles to regain control. The detailed and complex premise is gritty, dark, raw. dramatic and tragic; the characters are numerous, flawed, destructive-there is nothing likeable about the majority of the characters; there is no romance to be found. RESTLESS ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

As Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell and his wife Meggie continue to struggle with their own relationship since the early birth of their youngest daughter, there are many people behind the scenes focusing on taking the couple down but ultimately Meggie Caldwell for her connections to the past. Greed and jealousy are but the tip of the proverbial iceberg: no one is safe, betrayal is rampant and disheartening.

RELENTLESS is a dark, graphic, complex and detailed story focusing on many issues including graphic violence, discrimination, racism, mental instability and illness, psychotic breaks, emotional and physical infidelity. There is madness, anger, resentment and loss; betrayal, abuse, incest, vengeance and jealousy; mistrust and misunderstanding-most manipulated by actors behinds the scenes resulting in any number of fall-outs and accusations. The dysfunctionality of the Death Dwellers MC family is rife with any number of psychological terrors-the selfishness, secrets, lies and manipulations threaten the sanity of everyone involved.

A major portion of the story line follows the under eighteen (most under sixteen) extended family members-the legacy generation who are straddling the line between madness and mania. No one is likeable from child to adult, the amount of deceit is dangerous and alarming.

Once again, Heed the trigger warnings-they are graphic and numerous.
