ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 4, 2026

Everyone warned me Wade Ashcroft was trouble.
I just never expected him to become mine.

Champion saddle bronc rider. Bar fighter. Whiskey drinker. The cowboy mothers warn their daughters about.

After escaping an abusive ex-husband, I’ve spent fourteen months hiding on the professional rodeo circuit, treating horses, keeping my head down, and never staying anywhere long enough to be found.

Then the horses start dying.

The bloodwork doesn’t make sense. The transport records don’t match. And the questions I’m asking have made me the next target.

Every instinct tells me to run.

Wade has other ideas.

He doesn’t try to control me. He simply makes one thing clear to the people hunting me—

If they want me, they’ll have to go through him first.

As the bodies pile up and my past comes looking for me, I’ll have to decide if I can trust the most dangerous man I’ve ever known.

REVIEW: BROKEN RIDE is the second instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult SOUTHWEST SINNERS erotic, cowboy, romance series. This is Champion bronco rider Wade Ashcroft, and veterinarian Dr. Delaney Prescott’s story line. BROKEN RIDE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion as there is an ongoing plot line throughout.

NOTE: due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers .

Told from dual first person perspectives (Wade and Delaney) BROKEN RIDE follows several intersecting pathways as Dr. Delaney Prescott discovers a series of blood anomalies in several horses on the professional rodeo circuit but anomalies that can’t be explained until Delaney discovers a potential pattern and the possibility of illegal shipments. With the help of champion saddle bronc rider Wade Ashcroft, a man who also has suspicions about what is happening and why.Working together, matching theories and probabilities, Wade and Delaney call in help from the FBI only to discover the FBI has been watching for a much longer time. Meanwhile, Delaney’s past refuses to let go, keeping watch until the perfect opportunity to take back that which doesn’t belong.

The world building focuses on uncovering the truth, searching for the people responsible, and the protection of our story line heroine. Someone is determined to use the rodeo circuit as their lines to fortune but the livestock and horses are paying the ultimate price.

The relationship between Delaney and Wade begins acrimoniously as Delaney struggles to trust including the man with whom she is falling in love. Wade is battling his own demons, demons that threaten his future and even his happily ever after with our story line heroine. As Delaney and Wade work side by side to take down the people in charge, Wade begins to spiral out of control, and the result may compromise everything for which they have worked. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are energetic, dynamic and often questionable. We are introduced to Delaney’s ex Garrett Voss, Burl Hendricks, Brenda Foster and Thornton Livestock, as well as the return of Colt Holloway and Kenna McEnroe (Ride or Die 1), Slade Carrick, and FBI Agent Torres.

BROKEN RIDE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, power and control, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is seductive and impassioned; the characters are desperate and determined. BROKEN RIDE ends on a happily ever after-for now. The major plot conflict has yet to be resolved.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 21, 2026

Some men protect you from monsters. Some men are the monster.

I built my career helping powerful men close impossible deals. I never realized I was helping them destroy lives.

Arthur Harrow gave me everything: a future, a career, a second chance. For five years, I trusted him completely.
Then I uncover a pattern buried beneath the deals I helped structure.

Companies destroyed from the inside. Families ruined. Collapses that were engineered, not inevitable. And every analysis that identified the pressure points has my name on it.

I built the scalpel. Someone else did the cutting.

Evan Kincaid is the last man I should trust. He operates in the shadows of Arthur’s world, watching me with an intensity that feels equal parts protection and obsession. The deeper I dig, the more dangerous things become, and the harder it is to resist the man pulling me into the fire.

Then I learn the truth.

Evan has been lying to me from the beginning.

I should walk away. But someone knows I’m digging. The threats are escalating. And the only man dangerous enough to stand between me and what’s coming is the man who betrayed me first.

Investment and financial methodology and terminology blend with anxious moments and issues of trust. Working behind the scenes to reveal the truth, Meaghan and Evan invoke a spiral of disaster, threatening the man who mentored our story line heroine.

The relationship between Meaghan and Evan begins as co-conspirators, of a sort, as they embark on an investigation to that will divulge the dealings and machinations of a firm intent on controlling them all. As our couple circle around one another, Meaghan sees betrayal, and the hurt, threatens any sense of a future with our story line hero. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.
