ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date August 11, 2026

I have nothing left.

One moment of weakness seven years ago, and I lost my job, my art, and my only friend. Now I’m working nights at a gas station to scrape together a living and a way to care for my sister, and I’m completely alone.

And then I see him on the front page of the newspaper, my former college student and the man who ruined my life seven years ago.

Ryan Bell.

So I carve a statue of the devil and I give the devil Bell’s face. I leave it for the world to see.

I shouldn’t have done it. I should have known he’d use the statue to hunt me, find me, offer a deal that demands my soul. He wants one year of me—all of me—and then he’ll make my problems go away.

How can I refuse? When it’s my only chance of salvation? How can I refuse even when I know Ryan Bell will leave me with a broken heart—again?

But it’s my own fault…I should have stayed hidden, I shouldn’t have revealed how the memory of him haunts me still. I was the one who spoke of the devil, after all.

I can’t be surprised that he appeared.

REVIEW: Well….it was a wait, but boy was it worth it. Devil is the fourth installment in the Priest series by Sierra Simone. If you haven’t read the first three in the series…well have you been living under a rock? Go read them first, just trust me.

The way Ryan Bell had me in choke-hold, as a loyal fan of the author, I have been dying to get this story. While it is not an MM, Birdie comes in as an absolutely amazing addition to the series and to Ryan’s story. Birdie is older, and really leans into the student/professor trope, but of course with a darker twist to it. Ryan has spent years looking for his mystery lady, only to discover that his obsession is none other than Birdie, the woman who started it all.

Birdie is a mystery wrapped in self-sacrifice, rolled in just enough religion to keep it interesting (and spicy). She has spent most of her life caring for not only her sister, but for those around her that don’t realize just how important she really is. Her reunion with Ryan is…unique..and their relationship something entirely different.

These two have to have one of the most toxic, emotionally unstable relationships I have read, but for whatever reason it works for them. I don’t know how much of myself I could give up in order to make sure I had what I needed, and Birdy, well she is a glutton for punishment. When Ryan finally comes for her, he is ready and knows just what to offer her to make her say yes. It’s nothing short of manipulation, but Birdy can’t see to care.

What one more gilded cage…at least this one comes with WIFI.

Ryan comes full circle with his muse, and their story, well theres is one you just have to read.
