Faking it has never been so hard…

But that tiny evasion gets me into trouble when I’m forced to play bride-to-be for our new marketing campaign. If my boss finds out I’ve lied to her, it won’t just be my reputation on the line; it’ll be my job.

Baird’s public escapades have gotten him on the wrong side of his football club’s new owner, and he needs to prove he’s settling down. A fake engagement is a win-win for us both.

There’s just one problem. It turns out there’s nothing fake about the explosive connection Baird and I share.

I may not have been looking for love, but every moment with Baird tempts me to reach for it. Yet just as I start to believe a future together could be a real possibility, our pasts come surging back with a vengeance. And with it, those who will do anything to destroy our chance at forever…

REVIEW:HART STREET LANE is the third instalment in Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult RETURN TO DUBLIN STREET erotic, romance series, a second generation spin off, set in the author’s ON DUBLIN STREET world. This is thirty year old senior fashion buyer Maia MacLeod, and twenty-six year old, professional football goalkeeper Baird McMillan’s story line. HART STREET LANE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Maia and Baird) HART STREET LANE follows in the aftermath of the fallout of Maia MacLeod’s engagement to a man who was unsure of his future or the woman he proclaimed to love. Maia never expected to find herself hiding behind a fake engagement to her best friend Baird McMillan, professional footballer and manwh*re but a man willing to play along in an effort to save Maia’s career. When her boss and co-workers suggested a large fashion campaign for Pennington’s Department store using a soon to be married couple, Maia was broadsided when she discovered she and her ‘fiance’ were about to become the centre of attention, both good and bad, against her approval.

The world building follows several pathways including dysfunctional family dynamics, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, as Maia and Baird find themselves embroiled in a paparazzi nightmare manifest by jealousy and resentment by co-workers and envious family.

The relationship between Maia and Baird is friends to fake engagement to lovers as our couple must endure the resentment of fellow co-workers, and the intrusive nature of journalist and paparazzi. As their story unfolds, secrets and lies spiral sending the newspapers and the people in charge into a frenzy, threatening any chance of a happily ever after for our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, familiar and often questionable secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Maia’s father Logan and step-mother Grace, as well as Baird’s teammates Callan Keen, and John Tessier; Maia’s ex Will, and several co-workers including Hilary, Becky, Liza and Christina. The requisite evil has many faces.

HART STREET LANE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and malevolence, power and control, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is edgy and dramatic; the romance is seductive; the characters are charismatic and determined.

He lives by a set of rules. She might be his one exception.
I just wanted a distraction, something to take the edge off before facing a wedding I was dreading. So on the flight back to New York, I signed up for a dating app. Harmless enough, right?Wrong.

Turns out, it wasn’t just any app—it catered to people with very specific tastes. By the time I realized it, I was already on my date.
Tall, confident, and sinfully handsome, Jagger Langston seemed like the full package. The chemistry between us was instant—electric enough to burn the whole city down. Though things took a turn when we figured out I’d misunderstood who should join the app. We laughed it off, said goodbye, and went our separate ways.
Or so I thought.

Until I walked into my new internship Monday morning, ready to put the weekend behind me, and there he was—my boss.
Now I’m caught between the rules he lives by—and the temptation to make him break every single one of them.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 8, 2026

One look and I know – he’s going to be mine!

He walks into my boudoir studio and everything else fades away. For a long moment, it’s just the two of us frozen in time. But when I come back to the present, I realize he’s not alone. He’s here for a couple’s session.

After he returns solo and asks for a bondage shoot, I make one very important realization – that man is mine. I’ll stop at nothing to have him.

••••••

REVIEW:Picture Perfect is a steamy MM romance novella by Crea Reitan, set in the paradise of the Isle of Kala, a luxurious LGBTQIA+ resort island that’s become a favorite backdrop in the author’s interconnected worlds (previously glimpsed in her popular For Puck’s Sake hockey series).

This short standalone follows a boudoir photographer who experiences instant, overwhelming attraction when a handsome client walks into his studio.

What starts as a couple’s session quickly evolves into something far more personal when the man returns alone, requesting a bondage themed shoot. 😜

From there, it’s full speed ahead into possessive, intense romance.

“One look and I know he’s going to be mine!” I did squeal reading the blurb 😂

The story centers on Larson (the determined photographer) and Dylan, delivering exactly what you’d expect from one of my favourite authors, high heat, obsessive chemistry, and unapologetic passion.

One thing that almost had me not picking up the book, is the fact that one of the characters is in a relationship (I don’t like cheaters!) But give it a chance, as all us not as it seems 😜

I know not everyone is a fan of instalust or instalove, but I am. The intense chemistry between Larson and Dylan is the standout here. It’s electric from that very first frozen moment in the studio, building into something all consuming.

The Isle of Kala itself feels like a character, sunny, accepting, and the perfect escape for swoony island romance.

I love revisiting the island, we’ve met characters from previous books, but also islanders themselves.

It’s a novella, so don’t expect deep world building or complex subplots, this is pure focused romance with plenty of spice.

REVIEW: WOLF’S SONGBIRD is the second instalment in Cala Riley’s contemporary, adult MOUNTAIN RIVER MC, dark, erotic, MC romance series. This is former FBI agent Asher ‘Wolf’ Zimmerman , and Aspen’s story line. WOLF’S SONGBIRD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading books one PANTHER’S MAGPIE for back story and cohesion. Aspen is Panther’s foster-sister.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Asher and Aspen) WOLF’S SONGBIRD focuses on healing and survival. Both Asher and Aspen were victims of the Ragged Anarchy MC. Woking undercover Asher quickly discovers there is more to life than working for the FBI, and becomes guardian and protector of our story line heroine. The world building focuses on moving on from the past, acceptance and forgiveness. As the MC prepare for their fund raising carnival, someone else is determined to take what doesn’t belong.

The relationship between Aspen and Asher began as a forced proximity when both were trapped by the Ragged Anarchy MC but Asher was determined to protect Aspen with his life, even if it meant leaving behind everything he once thought as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top. Sexually graphic language and text.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date January 8, 2026

Marco Amir is great at his job.

With one notable exception.

He absolutely cannot keep himself away from the beautiful, wallflower wedding planner.

He’s supposed to be protecting her from the rabid media, ensuring there are no leaks that compromise the big event. Though, as threats close in and his carefully laid plans begin to unravel, Marco finds he isn’t just guarding Alice because he has to, but because he’s pretty sure she just might be the one…

If he can somehow convince her their connection isn’t just for now.

••••••••

REVIEW: FOR NOW is the third book in the Star-Crossed City series by the ever talented Ari Wright. As always, I do recommend reading a series in order to get the most out of it, but each book can be read as a standalone in an interconnected series. Past book characters do play a part in For Now, so I do strongly recommend reading the first two books. Now onto the good stuff!

Alice is a wallflower, shy, klutzy and prefers her tea and books to socializing and parties. She is kind and smart, but like so many of us not the most confident in herself or how she looks. Alice is a plus size baddie, but due to her horrible (and I do mean horrible) mother, she struggles with self-love and trusting others. One day at work, her lovely, but crazy friend Tris manages to talk Alive into taking on a client for a last minute wedding for their mutual friend Ella. Here’s the kicker though, Ella is marrying Grayson (book one) and he is loaded and famous, so everyone is out for the details for the wedding of the century, thus leaving Alice as the odd one out. She’s never done an event this big, but she can’t leave her friend in a bind, and agrees to do it. Poor Alice just wasn’t prepared for the “security” that it came with.

Marco is just what you would think a security executive would be, tall, broad, muscular, alpha-male, but he’s also a hopeless romantic. When he scopes her out for a risk assignment, he’s obsessed from the first meeting. (and what a meet cute it is) Marco quickly learns that Alice isn’t like any woman he has met before, that she is gonna be the one. The one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, there’s just one catch. She doesn’t think he really wants her. Marco makes it his mission to protect her from all things crazy wedding, but also to show her just how serious he is about their future together. He just wasn’t expecting the thing wanting to harm them was more connected to him than his clients.

I freaking loved this! Ari’s books always leave me feeling just a little bit lighter after reading them, and For Now was the same. Alice is my soul sister, she is such a relatable character and I love how much she grows throughout the book, and Marco, well we all need a Marco in our corner one day. It was fun seeing how some of the other characters have fared after their books, and even Tris (who I hope gets a book) was a kick in the pants. I will say, towards the end, I was a little unhappy with Alice for believing that b.s (no spoilers) but her character was still growing so I will look past it. For Now is a story of found family, self-love and acceptance, and learning what true love really looks like.
