ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 6, 2026
He’s spent his whole life knowing everything. Every variable. Every angle. Every threat he could calculate faster than most people could blink. Lincoln Bollinger built two fortunes before thirty, mastered the dark web, and designed systems that made governments nervous.
But the one thing he couldn’t solve? People. Emotions. Her.
Mercury—the brilliant stranger he’s traded secret coded messages with for two years—vanished months ago. The quiet mind hidden inside poetry and algorithms was suddenly gone… until she sent him a desperate SOS encoded inside Emily Dickinson. A message only he could read.
Rescuing her is easy. Surviving what comes next won’t be.
The trafficking ring wants her silenced. Corrupt officials want her erased. And the only person she trusts is a man who barely knows how to hold a conversation without someone telling him to use his “inside voice.” But with Mercury beside him—quoting poetry when she’s scared, reorganizing his library when she’s overwhelmed, matching his brilliance with her own—Lincoln finds himself facing something he’s never been able to compute.
A woman who sees him. A woman he’ll burn the world to protect. And the enemy closing in fast.

REVIEW: HERO’S TOUCH is the sixth instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult LINEAR TACTICAL: OAK CREEK erotic, romantic suspense series, a next generation set in the author’s Linear Tactical worlds. This is thirty year old, Lincoln ‘Binary’ Bollinger, son of Blake ‘Baby’ and Quinn Bollinger, and Morgan “Mercury’ Reece’s story line. HERO’S TOUCH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers
Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives ( Morgan and Lincoln) HERO’S TOUCH follows in the wake of the abduction of our story line heroine. For two years, Lincoln has been communicating online with a woman he knows only as Mercury, a woman whose brain works and functions similarly to his own but when Mercury doesn’t log in at the assigned time, Lincoln begins a deep dive in the hopes of uncovering what happened and why. The rescue of Morgan finds Lincoln facing a woman who understands the complexities of an overactive mind, a mind that remembers everything and everyone she has ever encountered.
The world building focuses on codes and secrets, atypical thought processes, memory and innovation, power and vengeance. When life is overwhelming, both Morgan and Lincoln revert inward, to a safer place only they understand, and in this, our heroine struggles when her world begins to spiral out of control.
The relationship between Morgan and Lincoln begins two years earlier when our couple met online, using poems and code. Having never met, Lincoln struggles when Morgan goes missing, a struggle he must endure in an effort to save her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, familiar and energetic secondary and supporting characters from both the Linear Tactical series: Joy and Bear, Callum and Sloane, Derek Bollinger, Theo and Eva, as well as several characters from the original series.
HERO’S TOUCH is a story of power and control, obsession and madness, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is intriguing, suspenseful and edgy; the romance is impassioned; the characters are desperate, determined and atypical.
