Twelve years earlier, Bolton Alvarado pledged his life to God in the wake of a personal failure at home but Bolton never expected to come face to face with his future in the guise of Taniya Quinn, a young woman struggling in the wake of her mother’s death, and a lack of faith in the church and God. Working her community service at Father Boston’s church, Taniya struggles with her attraction to Father Bolton, a man who is battling his attraction to our story line heroine but the heart wants something it should not have, and Father Bolton will profess his love for a young woman who shows her feelings with canvas and paints.

The world building focuses on the guilt and struggle of attraction; on the forbidden feelings and emotional fall-out for two people caught between despair and happiness, struggle and love.

The relationship between Bolton and Taniya is one of immediate attraction but Father Bolton will become both mentor and lover to a young woman who continues to struggle with her belief in a higher power in the wake of her mother’s death. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

the secondary and supporting characters are colorful and charismatic. We are introduced to Boston’s brother Mateo, and his husband Paul, as well as Sister Florence and Deacon Marcus Peters. I will add that the author continues to duplicate character names between instalments making for a little bit of confusion and cohesion.

HIS SINFUL OBSESSION is a fast paced, familiar story line of secrets and lies, obsession and guilt, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is engaging and entertaining; the characters are desperate and dynamic; the romance is forbidden yet seductive.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Iron Saints MC: Whiskey, Gears and his wife Tessa, Preacher and his wife Jade, and Mama Rosa.

The relationship between Zara and Alexei is one of force proximity in the wake of Zara’s abduction. Alexei quickly discovers he wants Zara for himself, something he never could have imagined or dreamed of in the face of his life style and demands. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Alexei’s brothers: Sergei, Dmitri and Pakhan Nikolai Ivanov, as well as Nikolai’s wife Sable.

The fast paced, character driven premise is dramatic and edgy-for a novella length story, SECRETS AND SOVEREIGNTY packs quite a bit of detail and proverbial punch, though not as dark a many Mafia series. The characters are determined and dynamic; the romance is fated and seductive.
