REVIEW:PROPERTY OF INCUBUS is the second instalment in DM Earl’s contemporary, adult KINGS OF ANARCHY MC: INDIANA dark, MC romance series, a part of the multi-authored Kings of Anarchy MC. This is Cullen aka Incubus, and his ol’ lady Stella’ s story line. PROPERTY OF INCUBUS should not be read as stand alone as Incubus begins in book one PROPERTY OF COBALT.

NOTE: For followers of DM Earl, there is a cross over with the author’s Devil’s Handmaidens MC and Grimm Wolves MC series.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers. If you have not read PROPERTY OF COBALT, there may be spoilers in my review

Told from dual first person perspectives (Stella and Incubus) PROPERTY OF INCUBUS focuses on the search for our story line heroine. Incubus’ ol’ lady Stella is missing, and a prisoner of the mob. Weeks will pass with only brutal images and heart break for our story line hero who is struggling with the possibility of never seeing his wife again but with the help of the Devil’s Handmaidens MC and the Grimm Wolves MC, a hunt for Stella brings more disbelief and betrayal for our story line hero.

The world building follows Incubus’ spiral as he struggles with the reality of what is happening. Each chance at a rescue is met with his wife’s disappearance, and the betrayal continues to send Incubus deeper into the dark. Stella battles with the demons that refuse to let go, demons that are determined to break our story line couple.

The relationship between Incubus and Stella has been previously established. Our couple spend the majority of the story line separated-Stella as a prisoner, Incubus as a man rapidly breaking without the woman he loves. There are no $ex scenes between our story line couple.

There is another large ensemble cast of determined and desperate secondary and supporting characters including many of whom we met in the previous instalment: the KOAMC: Indiana, Devil’s Handmaidens MC, Grimm Wolves MC, the mob; Incubus’ sister Maeve, and Stella and Incubus’ daughter Isabella. The requisite evil has many faces.

PROPERTY OF INCUBUS is a twisted story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, madness and retaliation, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is dark, gritty and dramatic; the characters are struggling to survive and move forward; the romance is limited as our couple need time to heal.

Told from three first person perspectives (Incubus, Cobalt and Julie) PROPERTY OF COBALT follows in the aftermath of the rescue of accountant Julie Drake, and her brother James. The mob has called in a favor, and Julie and her brother James are the target but a few whispers from James force the KINGS OF ANARCHY MC to claim the siblings as their own. Julie never expected to come face to face with her future in the guise of KOAMC president Cobalt but Julie and James are in trouble, and their only hope is MC protection.

The world building focuses on the search for the truth. As the MC dig into the people taking aim at our story line heroine, Julie will reveal what she discovered, and the KOAMC: Indiana are caught between a proverbial rock and a hard place where no one wants to go.

The relationship between Julie and Cobalt begins as a rescue but Cobalt is quick to declare his protection of our story line heroine but when the mob refuses to back down, Cobalt takes aim at the people who have targeted the woman with whom he is falling in love. the $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including several members of the KOAMC Indiana Chapter. We are introduced to Julie’s brother and IT specialist Stash aka James, as well as Incubus-enforcer: Psycho-VP: Rocket-prospect: Chaplain-Holy Joe: Mammoth; Dreamer; Bowie; Ajax; Jackal ; NIckel; Club girls Honey and Sparkle. The requisite evil has many faces including members of the Italian Mafia.

PROPERTY OF COBALT is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is detailed, dramatic and edgy; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic. PROPERTY OF COBALT ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
