Along with her security Lycan Mitchell, Ava finds herself on the cusp of a new path going forward, a new path that involves a transition, two mates, enraged vampires and witches, and a power she never knew existed. Ava Vanderbilt was completely unaware of her heritage, her shifter genes, and those of her siblings , most of whom had already gone through the transition and found their mates but Ava always went in a different direction, and our heroine found herself falling for two men whose previous relationship together ended acrimoniously and heart breaking. Someone is targeting Ava, and with it, taking aim at the men whom she loves.

The world building follows dark magic and obsession, transitions and immortality, and a supernatural world of beasts, vampires, madness and witches, history and lore. The human population is blinded to the reality of the paranormal, the supernatural must keep their existence a secret.

The relationship between Ava, Lycan and Poe is an MM, MF, MFM , Dom/sub relationship. Lycan and Poe were once lovers but their break up would destroy any chance of a future. Ava and Lycan married following a night of drinking and dancing but Poe would be the first to claim our heroine as his mate. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense.

The character driven premise is detailed and dramatic; the romance is limited but fated; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic. Fool is a guest but quickly discovers his attraction to April must be tempered in the wake of Twister’s proclamation of off-limits but Twister has no idea about Fool’s attraction to April, and placing Fool in April’s orbit brings our couple closer together in the face of threats against our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are passionate .

We are introduced to several members of the Grave Prowlers MC-president Cannon, VP Hornet, enforcer Hazard, as well as the return of the Devil’s Riot MC membership and extended family-Twister,Horse, Thorn, Hades, Badger, Burner, Brass; April’s estranged father Mikey, and her best friends Kayla and Mercy, as well as ex-boyfriend Samuel.

APRIL’S FOOL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and obsession, power and control, family and relationships,acceptance and love.The character driven premise is dramatic and intriguing; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are energetic, desperate and determined.

The character driven premise is detailed, complex and intense; the characters are tragic, questionable, disrespectful, and controversial-again, I see no redeeming qualities for anyone including the younger children who have been forced to grow up too fast in an effort to survive. The children are miniature versions of the adults they have chosen to emulate, adults who are controversial and problematic most of whom are spiralling out of control. The language is graphic, strong, and not for the faint of heart but saying all of that, I am now trapped in the abyss with the Death Dwellers MC- watching from the sidelines as their lives implode

The world building continues to focus on the religious cult known as the Pearly Gates and their leader the Reverand Ezekiel Crowley. While local law enforcement fear retaliation and making good on the threats against family and friends, Twila and the Kings of Anarchy MC begin a search of their own, with the help from an unlikely source.

There is a slight nod to a potential supernatural element, hinted at in previous instalments but again, there is no revelation or proof, only speculation and a bit of a red-herring.

The relationship between Whiskey and Twila begins acrimoniously. Twila has been blinded to the rumors about the local MC, and when she finds herself a virtual prisoner of Whiskey Weller, reality of her situation reveals a man who is hoping to take down the people responsible for destroying their community. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.

The secondary and supporting characters are numerous, energetic and determined. We are reintroduced to Several MC members including Bullet ,Holler and Lottie, Legend and Sophie , Royal and Becki, Oaks and Brittany, Derby and Legend’s sister Amelia, Twila’s ex Cal Mercer, her father Sheriff Amos Dix, Whiskey’s daughter Wren, and her mother, Holler’s sister Beth; cult survivor Kaylee Quill, and the return of Reverand Crowley.

Weeks will pass with only brutal images and heart break for our story line hero who is struggling with the possibility of never seeing his wife again but with the help of the Devil’s Handmaidens MC and the Grimm Wolves MC, a hunt for Stella brings more disbelief and betrayal for our story line hero.

The world building follows Incubus’ spiral as he struggles with the reality of what is happening. Each chance at a rescue is met with his wife’s disappearance, and the betrayal continues to send Incubus deeper into the dark. Stella battles with the demons that refuse to let go, demons that are determined to break our story line couple.

The relationship between Incubus and Stella has been previously established. Our couple spend the majority of the story line separated-Stella as a prisoner, Incubus as a man rapidly breaking without the woman he loves. There are no $ex scenes between our story line couple.

REVIEW:LIFE OR DEATH by Janine Infante Bosco is the second instalment in the multi-authored contemporary, adult, FALLEN DEMONS MC erotic, romance series. This is club president Lucifer Holland, and bartender Jess’ story line. LIFE OR DEATH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lucifer and Jess) LIFE OR DEATH follows in the wake of a fire that left our heroine fighting for her life. An attack on a club owned bar resulted in a fire, and Jess married to the man she blames for destroying her life. Weeks of recovery and therapy are met with antagonist backlash but Lucifer is determined to prove he is worthy of her love.

The world building focuses on healing and acceptance, as Lucifer keeps their relationship a secret from the men he commands. From hospital to her apartment, and eventually the Fallen Demons MC clubhouse, Jess must learn to navigate a new world, a new job and a new future.

The relationship between Jess and Lucifer begins acrimoniously. Jess blames Lucifer for several negative events in her life but it is Lucifer who finds himself paying for his sins in more ways than one. Lucifer lost his heart to Jess months earlier, but it will take time for Jess to heal, and accept a new direction in life. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include several members of the Fallen Demons MC including the return of Della and Shadow, and the introduction of Jess’s friend and co-worker Tori.

LIFE OR DEATH is a story of secrets and lies, healing and acceptance, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is fast paced, edgy and dramatic; the romance is fated; the characters are dynamic and desperate.

REVIEW: THUNDER is the first instalment in Elizabeth Knox’s contemporary, adult SHOTGUN SAINTS MC: KINGS OF THE ROAD erotic, cowboy, MC, romance series, a spin off set in the author’s SHOTGUN SAINTS world, which in turn is set in the Reaper’s Rejects Worlds. This is SAA Thunder, and twenty-two year old, cattle breeder Presley Hutchins Lyle’s story line. THUNDER should not be read as a stand alone, it is recommended to read Presley’s novella, found in the SHOTGUN SAINTS MC: The Complete Series boxset, as well as PHANTOM book three. If you have not read either story line, there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Presley and Thunder) THUNDER follows in the aftermath of an attack on the Shotgun Saints MC. Thunder is in recovery with bullet wounds inflicted months before, while Presley struggles to find a place with the family that knew nothing about her existence. Working for the Shotgun Saints MC cattle breeding program, Presley finds herself on the outside looking in but for one man who is struggling to accept he is no longer able to do his duties to the club . An organization known as The Firm is taking aim, and the Shotgun Saints MC may be facing their most dangerous foe to date. Meanwhile, Presley and Thunder’s relationship crosses the line of no return, and with it, incurs the wrath of the man in charge.

The world building focuses on animal husbandry, the rejection by family for a perceived betrayal, and the protection of the members and their family of the Shotgun Saints MC. We are witness to rebuff of an innocent woman caught in the crossfire between family members, and the search for a woman, everyone knows is dead and buried. The original conflicts continue into the new spin off, conflicts that will pit the members against a foe they can not take down.

The relationship between Thunder and Presley is one of the forbidden. Presley is the youngest daughter of MC president Phantom, and as such, is off limits to the members of the MC. Thunder is a single father whose attraction to Presley has been stifled by a possible career ending injury but Thunder is determined to work-through the pain and humiliation as watches from the sidelines as the woman he loves suffers at the hands of the people who refuse to accept her existence. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is another large ensemble cast of familiar, colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters, most of whom we met in the original SHOTGUN SAINTS MC series including president Phantom and his wife Marlena, road captain Banshee and Bex, Shadow and Grace, Rogue and Hadley, Phantom’s son and Presley’s half-brother Shiver (Reaper’s Rejects MC), as well as Spur and Dakota, and Thunder’s daughter Raine.

THUNDER is a fast paced story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and rejection, acceptance and love. The character driven premise dramatic and edgy; the romance is limited but seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and a little bit broken.
