REVIEW: Forceful God is a standalone book in The Kings of Mafia series by Michelle Heard.

Christiano Falco is the new head of the Cosa Nostra. In a previous book he had pledged his love for Sienna Vitale, daughter of Franco Vitale. This story begins at the engagement party where Christiano will present Sienna with her engagement ring. But the Irish mafia has another idea. Gunfire breaks out at the party, and Sienna is nearly shot. Christiano takes a bullet for her.

Sienna does not deal well with the shooting. Even though she has been around the mafia her entire life she is hiding a secret. She calls off the engagement. After Christiano is shot, Sienna’s mental health spirals into phobia and she, nor him are prepared for it.

Sienna forces herself to turn her back on Christiano as an act of love. But neither ever find another. Their hearts belong to each other. Christiano never stops loving g her, waiting for her. Patiently waiting….

This book was probably one of the most emotionally devastating of Michelle Heard’s books. While Christiano is intense and ruthless his love for Sienna never wavers. He sees her. He knows her.

Their love withstands.

Highly recommend! May be one of my favorite Michelle Heard books ever!

REVIEW: Craving Revenge is book 6 in The Kings of Mafia series by Michelle Heard.

Yuki Tanaka is a 22 year old Yakuza Princess living in Japan. But she can’t be herself. Ever since her brother Ryo was hidden away when she was eleven, she has been pretending to be him. Not by her choice, her father’s-To protect her brother until he is ready to take over the Yakuza – She pretended to be him. Her father making her take Botox shots to the face to make her look more masculine. She is out at a popular Japan nightclub, Molecule, one night and she sees the most beautiful woman with her new husband.

Yuki can’t help but stare. She has been pretending to be her brother for years and the softness and beauty of this woman is overwhelming. She can’t seem to look away. What that sets off is a myriad of a battle between the Yakuza and Cosa Nostra.
The woman she was staring at is Gianna Vitale – the newly married wife of Riccardo Vitale. The youngest brother of the head of the Cosa Nostra. The capo of the Cosa Nostra – Augusto Vitale.

When Yuki can’t look away, Gianna’s husband Riccardo takes offense and tells Yuki to stop looking at his wife. Yuki’s over zealous body guard oversteps and in the end Riccardo is shot and taken away to the hospital. Augusto wants revenge for what has happened to his brother in Japan. When they find who they believe to be Ryo the beat him within an inch of his life.
That is until they realize that the person pretending to be Ryo is actually his sister Yuki.

Trying to calm the violence and deaths between the Yakuza and the Cosa Nostra – Yuki’s father arranges a marriage with none other than the man that beat her almost to death – Augusto Vitale.

Will Augusto ever be able to get Yuki to forgive him for what he has done. Will Yuki ever feel safe with the man she was arranged to marry? What transpires is a beautiful building of a relationship between Yuki and Augusto.

But once Augusto finds out about the truth of how his new wife was treated up until he married her – he has but one thought.He is Craving Revenge.

This was probably one of my favorite Mafia stories by Michelle Heard. The build up between Augusto and Yuki was wonderful. While Augusto had one thought – to make his wife feel safe and secure after he mistook her for a man and beat her. Yuki is young and vulnerable – and scared – oh so scared of the life she didn’t ask for. Her one wish is to find her brother. She has no concept of living a good life – she has never experienced that. But maybe she will one day. Maybe she will….

Highly recommend – can be read as a stand alone but every single book in this series is worth a read.

Please be mindful of the trigger warnings at the front of the book.

That is, until I hear a commotion one night and find him bleeding in the kitchen.It turns out everything is not as it seems, and like a helpless fly, I’m stuck in the web he’s spun around me.

REVIEW: The Devil by Michelle Heard is book five in The Mafia Empire series.

This book dives right in. Enzo Oliveira is a 37 year old assassin and the leader of a criminal organization in Portugal. He is in the United States to deal with an MC Clud who has taken issue with him opening part of his business in their town. He stops in the middle of nowhere for a cup of coffee at a gas station and that is when he meets Jenna Doston.

Jenna is 26 years old and keeps to herself completely. After suffering horrific trauma she has turned in on herself and doesn’t talk anymore. She makes due working at the gas station because its mostly regulars. That is until a definite stranger in town walks in. Jenna hides beneath her bangs and doesn’t eant to make eye contact. But she can’t help it. That’s when Enzo notices her blue and green eyes. He is taken by her appearance and can sense pretty quickly that she is suffering from some kind of trauma.

He didn’t come to town to find a woman. He has no time for that in his life. He came to take care of the MC Club and leave. But he slowly begins to find himself going to that gas station each night and then watching her from a distance making sure she is safe. He can’t help it. He has never felt this way before about anyone let alone a woman. Everything was going good until one evening Enzo arrives at the gas station while a robbery is taking place. He quickly takes care of each man – to protect his Jenna. He has to find away to break thru her walls and let him in.

How will he do it? Will she still like him once she finds out what he is and what he does?

This book started off quickly and didn’t slow down! I wanted nothing more than Jenna to just fall for Enzo but she is dealing with a great deal of her own trauma. Can Enzo convince Jenna how much he cares about her and will Jenna ever let him in?
I highly recommend this entire series. This book can be read as a standalone but why do that! Highly recommend!

REVIEW: Heard is book four in the Mafia Empire Series.

Haven Romano is 23 years old and visiting Italy with her mother. A raid on the house where she is visiting her Uncle brings her face to face with Leo Toscano. Leo is 33 years old and the head of the Italian Mafia. One look at Haven and he knows that she must be his. Haven has no idea what she is getting herself into when she agrees to marry Leo to keep her mother safe!

What happens sparks a series of twists and turns. I loved this book so much. The slow burn relationship between Leo and Haven is palpable. Haven is thrown into a world that she has no concept of! She’s young, innocent and still has nightmares that haunt her from her past. But when her nightmares clash with her present situation all hell breaks loose!

Leo Toscano is danger walking and he has trauma from his past! His trauma collides head first into Haven’s nightmares! Will they survive knowing the truth.

Highly recommend this entire series.

REVIEW:Death by Michelle Heard is book three in the Mafia Empire series. The story I have been waiting for, Santiago Castro. Santiago’s family was massacred and ever since that day he has made it his mission to save children and women from trafficking and abuse. He takes them in and makes sure they are taken care of and healed before returning to their lives.

Thats how he comes to have Ciara in his life. She was held and tortured against her will for 9 months until she escapes!
He helps Ciara return to the woman she once was. But that isnt without pain, loss and suffering! But he isnt going anywhere, she is his! I love the use of the tarot cards in this book and the fortune telling.

This book is a slow burn for those wanting the spice and deliciousness that Michelle Heard is known for! But also because Ciara is healing for the better part of this book!

You can read this book as a standalone alone but no need to – I suggest you ready the whole series!

Definitely worth it!

REVIEW:The High Priestess is book two in the Mafia Empire Series by Mihelle Heard.

Cassia Dimitrou is next in line to head the Greek Mafia. Her entire life has been planned out for her to take her rightful place. While working alongside her father, Ilias Dimitrou, she is learning all she needs to know to take over one day soon. But fate has other plans for her. Cassia doesn’t have the same plans for the Greek Mafia as her father. Her father brokers and alliance with other Mafia heads a year ago, all but cementing her rightful place. She has put on a strong front and has shown the others that she is a force to be reckoned with. But deep down inside she is scared beyond belief. She can’t show them any fear. And she manages to put on a brave face despite everything going on around her. And as her father becomes increasingly chaotic and sporadic in his choices, Cassia does everything in her power to persuade him not to start a war with the Russian Bratva. But that war comes to her. And with losing everything that means anything to her, she must do everything in her power to protect herself and take her rightful place.

Thats when she meets Lincoln Knight. He hangs around with Santiago Castro, and he is there for one reason and one reason only. To kill the evilest of people. And that is exactly what he has done for two years. That is until he lays eyes on Cassia. When Cassia puts a call out for help to her alliance members, they send Knight. Knight does everything in his power to save Cassia and her sister.

Will they survive what has just happened to them? Will Cassia be able to take her rightful place as head of the Greek Mafia?

This book was wonderfully written. Cassia is a strong, determined young woman. Who has one thing on her mind. Taking over the Greek Mafia. While she is determined to take her place, she is also scared and trying everything in her power not to show weakness to any of her enemies. I love the bond she builds slowly with Knight and how he must protect her at all costs from the moment he meets her. Knight comes with his own baggage and the moment he meets Cassia he begins to see he has something to live for again.

The story of Knights past takes him to a dark place, and you are on a journey with him and he finds himself again in the love and caring support of Cassia. This book comes with a trigger warning, please make sure you check that out before reading. Wonderful second book to the series. Can’t wait to read Santiago’s book next.

Dominik Varga is 38-year-old assassin and arms dealer with the mafia. He prefers to be alone or with his “sister” Evinka Fico. When Dominik is hired to rescue the daughter of the Irish Mafia boss Ian Devlin he takes the job.

Grace Devlin is 32 years old and she has been kidnapped, beaten and almost left for dead. That is until she is rescued by a talk dark stranger and returned to her father. The price her father is willing to pay for her return – he wants Dominik to marry one of Devlin’s daughters. Dominik agrees to his wishes and asks for fifty percent of Devlin’s company.
Devlin agrees to allow his younger daughter Ciara to marry Dominik. Much to Grace’s denial.

Grace was forced into an arranged marriage before, and her husband beat and raped her constantly. That is until he was assassinated. Now back home with her father, there is no way Grace will allow Ciara to marry for Anything other reason than love. She will risk her life to save her sister. Dominik finds Grace’s willingness to risk her life to save her sister – endearing.

Grace’s father asks both of his daughters to get to know Dominik over the next few days that he will be staying with them.
Dominik already has his mind made up – he wants the fiery sister. Ian Devlin doesn’t want to give Grace to Dominik. The day before the wedding is to take place, Ciara runs away. Leaving Grace to deal with the dark, handsome, stranger. In the end Dominik chooses Grace.

Will Grace ever be able to let down her walls and find love for the first time.
Will she be able to put the trauma of her past to rest and recover with the life she deserves with Dominik?

I absolutely loved this book. Dominik is the dark and brooding type who you just want to break down his walls for him.
He is deadly and demanding on one note and loving and protective the next. He fell hard for Grace despite her previous trauma’s and triggers.

This book was full of mafia violence, romance and a slow build to love and trust. I can’t wait for book two. Highly recommend.

REVIEW:God Of Vengeance is book five in the Kings of Mafia series by Michelle Heard. This book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series.

Gabriella di Bella is a 23-year-old mafia princess. She wasn’t raised as a princess though, in fact her life was nothing but traumatic. Her family raised her for one purpose – to arrange a marriage that benefited them. And that is where the story begins. Gabriella is set to marry Stefano Ferraro, well, that is if the Capo dei Capi of the Cosa Nostra approves it. The approval must come from Damiano Falco himself. Damiano is in charge of the entire Cosa Nostra at 38 years old. When Gabriella finds out that Damiano is coming to her home to give her family approval to marry her off, she is scared. She has heard stories of the brutal man Damiano is.

But Gabriella doesn’t want to marry Stefano, the abuse she has received all her life is already continuing with him before they are even engaged. With every passing day he watches Gabriella acclimate to life in his world, in his home. When he can no longer deny his feelings for her he must decide what to do with her. Will she ever be able to love him being that he is one of the most ruthless men in the Cosa Nostra?

Gabriella is a strong-willed survivor. She has spent her life suffering abuse at the hands of her family. But she will not allow them to see her weak.
Standing tall in the face of the abuse they doled out; she knows her life had a bigger purpose than marrying Stefano.

So when the leader of the Cosa Nostra takes her with him she doesn’t protest too much. Although he is dark and dangerous walking, she has no idea what he has in store for her. But she does know he is the most intriguing man she has ever met. And as her feelings for him grow, she wonders if he could ever feel the same towards her.

I absolutely loved this story. Damiano was dark, brooding and death walking. He was the most terrifying and intimidating of all the Cosa Nostra.
I enjoyed his character immensely. I loved the slowness of the build of their relationship. And how long it took him to admit he had feelings for Gabriella. I loved reading how Gabriella came into her own and how she realizes her role and what she will be within the Cosa Nostra.
An amazing read if you love mafia romance. Can’t recommend this entire series enough.
