REVIEW: ONE LAST FROG is the fourth instalment in Deanndra Hall’s contemporary adult SMALL TOWN SOUTHERN BOYS erotic, romance series. This is thirty-three year old,single father and farmer Kyle Miller, and forty-two year old single mother and divorcee Gina Pritchard’s story line. ONE LAST FROG can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty-the stories are not connected.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Gina and Kyle) ONE LAST FROG follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. Approximately five and half years earlier, Kyle Miller lost the love of his life to cancer, and now that his daughter was getting older, he was thinking about testing the proverbial waters, again. A dating website for farmers and rural life left Kyle Miller disgruntled and disheartened but meeting divorcee Gina Pritchard gave Kyle thoughts of a future. Gina’s past refuses to let go, and when name calling and threats are made, the fall-out places everyone in the direct line of fire.
The world building focuses on love and loss, betrayal and madness, Gina had suffered at the hands of her ex but someone else is determined to make Gina pay . From Gina’s abusive past, to Kyle’s loss and raising his daughter alone, the reader is pulled into an emotional and often frustrating story of obsession and retribution in the name of family.
The relationship between Gina and Kyle begins as a match on a dating website but quickly turns into something more. There is immediate attraction and determination, Kyle having had to kiss a ‘lot of frogs’ before finding his princess and happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters are energetic, dynamic and fun with a little big of crazy and questionable added on the side. We are introduce to Kyle’s teenage children, his large extended family, as well as Gina’s parents, and bitter mother in law.
ONE LAST FROG is a story of betrayal and vengeance, madness and obsession, love and loss, family and friendships, relationships and acceptance . The character driven premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are desperate, determined, and charismatic.
