REVIEW:WICKED DEVIL is the fourth and final instalment in Sienna Cross’ contemporary, adult RUTHLESS HEIRS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is twenty-three year old, IT tech genius and reluctant heir to the Rossi Italian Crime Family Matteo Rossi, and Caitriona McKenna, daughter of Irish mobster Seamus McKenna. WICKED DEVIL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Matteo and Caitriona) using present day and memories from the past, WICKED DEVIL follows Caitriona McKenna as she has been ordered to take down the man she once loved. Approximately four years earlier, Matteo Rossi and Catriona McKenna had fallen in love but Matteo Rossi walked out of Caitriona’s life, leaving our heroine a shell of her former self. Fast forward to present day, a gun fight ends the life of someone close to the McKenna family, and our heroine is forced to obey her father’s command-kill Matteo Rossi, or forfeit your own life.

The world building focuses on vengeance, and Caitriona is warned that if she refuses to obey, she will not be coming home.As the Rossi family circles the proverbial wagons, Matteo will discover there is more to the woman he continues to love than he could have ever imagined.

The relationship between Matteo and Caitriona is one of second chances as Matteo is determined to reclaim the woman whose heart he destroyed. Caitriona struggles to forgive and forget in the wake of losing everything she loved. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful, dangerous and determined secondary and supporting characters including Matteo Rossi’s large extended family of siblings and cousins, co-workers, and friends, as well as Caitriona’s questionable McKenna Crime Family. The requisite evil has many faces-not everyone will survive.

WICKED DEVIL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, dysfunctional family dynamics, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic and edgy with a bit of a twist I suspected early on. The second chance romance is emotional and heart breaking; the characters are desperate and determined.

ABOUT THE BOOK : Release Date March 9, 2026

He’s a secret wrapped in sin—power in every step, temptation in every breath. He moves through danger like it belongs to him. I should be afraid.

Instead, I ache. Everything around us is a threat, but the moment he touches me, the fear disappears.

His mouth is a promise. His body a weapon. And I don’t know which one will break me first. I tell myself this is survival—that the heat between us is just adrenaline, a temporary madness.

But when he looks at me like I’m the only thing that matters, the truth cuts deep. This isn’t madness. It’s obsession. Need.
And it’s already too late to stop.

He’s my temptation. The mistake I’ll make again and again.

REVIEW:KISS OF SKYE is the eighth instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult SKYE DRUIDS paranormal, fantasy romance series. SKYE DRUIDS is a spin off, set in the author’s numerous interconnected series. This is Druid Lord Mason Brannelly, and American Druid Rowen Thornevale’s story line. KISS OF SKYE should not be read as a stand alone as there is a continuing premise , and each successive instalment builds upon the previous stories. I also recommend reading DARK ALPHA’S COMMAND (Reaper 15) for back story and cohesion. Several characters from the author’s other series including Reaper Balladyn and Druid Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command) appear as secondary characters.

SOME BACKGROUND: Months earlier, betrayal and vengeance forced a take-over of power on the Isle of Skye but someone or something is killing the Druids, not only on the Isle of Skye, but around the world including Edinburgh Scotland. With the focus on the Druids on the Isle of Skye, Balladyn and Rhona (Dark Alpha’s Command /Reaper 15) begin an investigation that reveals a danger targeting the Druids on the Isle of Skye.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Mason and Rowen KISS OF SKYE follows American Druid Rowen Thornvale as she journeys to visit the London Druids but upon her arrival, not all is as it appears to be. A Druid, with life threatening injuries needs her help, and together she and Mason Brannelly travel to the Isle of Skye where reality comes into focus, and our heroine discovers she is much more than anyone could have ever imagined. The London Druids are taking aim at the Isle of Skye, and our heroine finds herself at a crossroads between power and love.

The world building follows several intersecting pathways of both enemies and friends, three divisive Druid sects, and the possible return of the beings once known as the Others. Mason will reconnect with the family he thought he lost, as Rowen finds herself obeying the directives of the people back home.

The relationship between Mason and Rowen begins as a rescues but quickly turns into a friendship. Rowen doesn’t do relationships, and believes her time at The Isle of Skye comes with an expiry date but fate has other plans for our story line couple. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorfui, energetic, and magical secondary and supporting characters including Druids from London , Isle of Skye and the American Salish Druids.

KISS OF SKYE is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is intriguing and dramatic; the characters are determined and edgy; the romance is seductive

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 9, 2026

“Who Hurt You?”

When Hudson Cage asked those words, I shut him out just as I did the rest of those who cared for me. It’s been a year since I made one of the worst choices of my life but now I am stronger and following the path I’ve carved myself.

As manager of the Cage Resort, I want to bring the company into a new era and show the larger than life family that I worth so much more than what my father and ex said I was.

Only to do that, I have to deal with Hudson. The man I can’t get off my mind.

And my neighbor in this small town of ours.

We fight more than we speak to one another, and his over protectiveness is starting to become far too attractive. He holds secrets within those stormy eyes and the part of me that knows it’s a mistake wants to dive deep and know more.

When one lack of control turns to another, there’s no turning back from what we could have. Yet the darkness on each of our paths are closing in.

I don’t want to love Hudson Cage, but if we don’t give in and learn to trust, we both could risk losing it all before we even have a chance.

••••

REVIEW: The Cage Family is back at it! One Quick Obsession is the next installment of The Cage Family series by Carrie Ann Ryan. As always I recommend reading a series in order to get the most out of it, but yes each is a standalone in the interconnected world. As book four in the series, we meet many of our characters in the previous books, that is where we kick off our story now.

Hudson Cage is a hot hermit. He has his space, his art and his quiet, all the things he needs to live a somewhat content life. That is until his neighbor moves in, now he shares a part of his land with her and has for sometime. Scarlett Blair, the fiery bain of his existence, the one woman he can’t help but ruffle her feathers. She just also happens to be the best manager at his family’s resort, someone they can’t be without. While these two tend to butt heads more than they agree on anything, they also have a hot spark of chemistry that they are slowly having a harder and harder time ignoring. When Scarlett finds herself in the face of danger, Hudson is the first one to step up, or more like growled up. He makes her safe, then makes her his.

There is something about a Cage man! When Hudson goes all protective alpha over Scarlett, I promise you I nearly swooned. These two are dang near perfect for one another, and so similar as well, but as stubborn as mules. They each come into this new relationship with past history that they must work through before their own future is secure. Scarlett is a force to be taken seriously, and Hudson wants nothing more than to support her in her endeavors. OQO is a fast paced romance with over the top protective alphas and their women who don’t take smack from anyone. For loyal CAR readers, I hope you love Hudson as much as I did.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 5, 2026

Graduation implies a new beginning…

Jude

It’s unusual that I meet someone who becomes more than a fleeting acquaintance. Of all the places to meet such a person, at my cousin’s graduation party is my last guess. I’m so intrigued with him that I invite him with me to the boat club on Dark Island in Alexandra Bay for the summer.

Conner

I planned my entire future around getting drafted to the NHL but come graduation, no one wants me. Through a series of fortunate events, a frat brother brings me home and his hot cousin – professional hockey player – somehow takes an interest in me and while I’m still floundering for a future, I’m not upset to live in the present for a while.

Joining him at his boat club and staying in the castle is far too good to be true.

Because it is too good. One man takes an instant dislike of me and somehow, I end up inside the wall and before a group of masked people with knives in their hands as they discuss whether I get to live or die.

••••••

REVIEW:Graduation No Face by Crea Reitan is the latest installment in the interconnected Longwood U series. In fact most of her series are connected that way. Does it make for confusing reading? No, not really, but it does make your brain work trying to remember where you might have read about them 😉

This romance blends summer fling vibes, secret society intrigue, age gap tension, and high stakes danger in only 193 pages. It felt longer, we get a lot packed into those pages.

The story follows Jude, a professional hockey player who’s typically guarded and doesn’t form deep connections easily. At his cousin’s graduation party, he meets Conner, a recent college grad whose NHL draft dreams have just imploded, no team wants him, leaving him directionless and alone. 😞

Conner ends up tagging along to Jude’s family’s extravagant summer setup, a boat club on Dark Island in Alexandria Bay, complete with a castle like stay that’s luxurious beyond belief. Has something jogged in your mind? (Yes the island is mentioned in another book)😉

What begins as an intriguing, heat filled summer romance, Jude inviting Conner to join him, leading to instant chemistry and scorching encounters, quickly darkens and turns a little more sinister!

The plot weaves in mystery, threats, and revelations as the men navigate attraction, protection, and uncovering hidden truths tied to the island’s elite underbelly.

The writing keeps the pace brisk, intriguing build up and a satisfying unraveling of secrets, while blending lighthearted summer romance with darker edged tension.

If you’re a fan of MM romance with secret societies, age gap elements, hockey adjacent worlds, and a touch of danger, this hits the spot, intriguing, and emotionally satisfying without dragging us through pointless pages!

If you’re deep in Reitan’s universe, it’s a must read, if you’re new to the “Creaverse”, it’s a good place to start, with plenty of intrigue, and before you know it, you’ll be down this rabbit hole searching for “where did I read him? and what book?” 😜 And yes there are appearances/mentions of previous characters (the Van Doren series) and (For Puck sake series) and it’s also leading us into a new series on the island and Van Doren family.

REVIEW:Sworn in Deceit by Victoria Lum is a fast-paced enemies to lovers, dark romance filled with drama, spice and angst. Prepare yourself readers, this one is a good one. As always with any dark romance, check your trigger warnings before reading.

Elias is dark and morally grey in all the best ways. He has secrets, he tells lies, he is dangerous, he is everything a man with ties to the mafia should be. Lana is the opposite, sunshine, light and goodness, when they meet when they are teens, they have a romance neither of them ever saw ending. But tragedy happens and they are torn apart, now after years apart, they are reunited again, although Lana doesn’t know who Elias is or that he is the boy she used to love. Elias and Lana make such a good pair, Elias needs a little softening, and Lana needs some protecting, and not just from the Syndicate. ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date March 3, 2026

My beloved England is finally saved, for I am now queen.

The rules have changed, and peace now settles over the Kingdoms. This is the life I was destined for.

However, this life isn’t without regret because I’m missing an integral piece of my heart. I believed we were forever. But for England to prosper, I had to give up everything for the only man I ever loved.

And that man is Skarth the Godless.

I do not know where he is. But this is the sacrifice I must make because a Saxon queen cannot love a Northman. But I do. I always have.

A love fated in the stars…stars which I wish to set alight—for what good is love if you cannot embrace it with both hands?

Skarth and I are connected in more ways than one. And when our children’s lives are at risk and everything I fought so hard for is about to be destroyed, I forget I am Queen Emeline.

I am Hugrekki. I must find Skarth, and only one person can help me. Ulf the Bloody.

This is our final battle—a battle of the heart—and I fear it’s a war we’re all about to lose.

••••••

REVIEW: BLOOD OF THE STARS is the third instalment in Monica James’ adult IN LOVE AND WAR dark, historical, Viking romance series. This is the continuing story of Northman Skarth the Godless, and Queen Emeline. FALL OF THE STARS should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book one NORTH OF THE STARS. BLOOD OF THE STARS advances the series several years.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Skarth and Emeline) BLOOD OF THE STARS follows in the wake of Emeline’s ascension onto the throne of England but the man she loves is unable to stand by her side. Seen as a betrayal to have fallen in love with a Viking, Emeline rules without her consort, raising her sons without their father but a betrayal will send Emeline in search of the man whom she loves, a man who has also been betrayed by the people he trusts.

BLOOD OF THE STARS is another dramatic, powerful, tragic and startling addition to Monca James’ dark, historical IN LOVE AND WAR. A tale of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, torture and abuse, death and reconciliation. The premise is gritty and edgy; the characters are desperate and determined. BLOOD OF THE STARS ends on a happily ever after for now-Skarth’s friend ULF the Bloody is missing, and I suspect the author has plans for his story line arc.
