REVIEW:BLOOD AND TROUBLE is the third instalment in Jena Doyle’s contemporary, adult RBMC: HELENA MT erotic, paranormal, romance series, a part of the multi-authored RBMC worlds. This is wolf shifters Lycan Mitchell, businesswoman Ava Vanderbilt, and Poe’s polyamorous story line. BLOOD AND TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from three first person perspectives (Lycan, Poe, Ava) BLOOD AND TROUBLE follows Ava as embarks to Europe in an effort to secure some new investors for the family business. Along with her security Lycan Mitchell, Ava finds herself on the cusp of a new path going forward, a new path that involves a transition, two mates, enraged vampires and witches, and a power she never knew existed. Ava Vanderbilt was completely unaware of her heritage, her shifter genes, and those of her siblings , most of whom had already gone through the transition and found their mates but Ava always went in a different direction, and our heroine found herself falling for two men whose previous relationship together ended acrimoniously and heart breaking. Someone is targeting Ava, and with it, taking aim at the men whom she loves.
The world building follows dark magic and obsession, transitions and immortality, and a supernatural world of beasts, vampires, madness and witches, history and lore. The human population is blinded to the reality of the paranormal, the supernatural must keep their existence a secret.
The relationship between Ava, Lycan and Poe is an MM, MF, MFM , Dom/sub relationship. Lycan and Poe were once lovers but their break up would destroy any chance of a future. Ava and Lycan married following a night of drinking and dancing but Poe would be the first to claim our heroine as his mate. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of magical and supernatural secondary and supporting characters including but not exclusive to: Alpha and President Kodiak, Ava’s sisters Guinevere and, Maeve and her mate Mill, Sol and VP Orion, Lycan’s twin sister Ren, and their sister Channing, MC members Moose, Serpent, Ruby and Talon, Aquila Locust and Bow, and pack healer Morwyn, as well as several members of the RBMC Copenhagen and London chapters ,witch Bridge, and Ava’s ex Scott Fitzgerald.
BLOOD AND TROUBLE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is detailed and dramatic; the romance is limited but fated; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic. BLOOD AND TROUBLE ends on a happily ever after-for now-the conflict has yet to be resolved.
