ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 17, 2026

Fly high, fall hard.

Mase
I know a lot about falling. On the ice. On my face. Accidentally, according to my dad. I’m the best goalie in college hockey, but I’m broken. Not sleeping. Barely functioning. Afraid of following through with the draft and joining the team where my dad works, especially since he’s back in my life with a horrifying surprise. Then I meet my intriguing neighbor with the annoying dog. Taryn gives me a soft spot to land and a new way to view my choices. With hope. It’s the only time I’ve wanted to fall.

Taryn
I might be a little stubborn—tell me I can’t fly and watch me soar—but when offered the chance to play video games professionally, I chose a different path to keep my mom safe. We made it work until Mase stormed into my life, grumpy, exhausted, and complaining about my dog. He was a temptation I couldn’t resist. When a surprise complication makes us both rethink our futures, I have to decide if reaching for my dreams will include him—or if choosing him will shatter the protection I’ve worked so hard to achieve.

One night, one chance, one hundred percent a lie…

Reece
Hookups are my jam, but I’ve never had a girl shuddering with one breath then running away the next. And I can’t stop thinking about her. Probably for the best I’m trading in party games for extra practices. I can lead us back to the Frozen Four, but I need a sign of my dedication to persuade Coach. All I have to do is convince the one who got away to fake a relationship with me—and remember my oldest rule: only one night.

Kenzie
Nerd. Prude. Boring. Not anymore. After my ex proves hockey players really will stick their…uh, sticks…in anything, I swear off his type forever. But I don’t last a single night before hooking up with his rival. Turns out I’m bad at fun, though with my ex being thrust upon me at every opportunity, I’m willing to try—and fail. Until Reece offers me a choice: fall back into my boring, safe life or play along with him. The answer seems simple, but I’m worried playing will never be enough.
