REVIEW: REDEMPTION ROAD is the second instalment in Katie Ashley’s contemporary adult HELL’S RAIDERS / VICIOUS CYCLE erotic, MC romance series. This is club president Nathaniel ‘ Rev’ Malloy, and twenty-four year old Annabel Percy’s story line. REDEMPTION ROAD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Told from dual first person (Rev and Annabel) and third person (Mendoza) REDEMPTION ROAD follows in the wake of the rescue of our story line heroine. When club doctor, Dr. Robert ‘Breakneck’ Edgeway’s daughter is abducted by a Mexican human trafficking ring, the Hell’s Raiders MC embarks on a rescue where new club president Nathaniel ‘Rev’ Malloy will save a young woman on the brink of death. Days turn into weeks, and Annabel Percy finds herself on the mend, falling for a man who is about to break her heart but the past refuses to let go, and our couple will become targets of a determined man.
The world building focuses on revelations and healing. Rev has his own secrets very few know little about, and in this, he finds himself with a kindred spirit in the guise of the woman with whom he is falling in love.
The relationship between Rev and Annabel begins as a rescue that turns into friendship then something more but Rev struggles to cross the line from friends to lovers, and in this, his actions will destroy Annabel’s hard fought journey towards both physical and emotional recovery. The $ex scenes are limited but intimate and seductive.
The secondary and supporting characters include Rev’s siblings Bishop, Deacon and Alex, and their daughter Willow, as well as their mother Beth, and the members of the Hell’s Raiders MC.
REDEMPTION ROAD is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and madness, acceptance and love. The character driven premises is dramatic, and intriguing; the slow building romance is captivating; the characters are determined and dynamic.
