REVIEW: 🎄 The Omega Book Club Strikes again 🎄

The next installment in the Omega Book Club series has arrived and oh my goodness it will kick off the holiday season for sure. A Pack of Mistletoe is a small-town, cozy Christmas, omegaverse romance that will surely bring all the holiday spirit to its readers. As always, I recommend reading a series in order to get the most out of it, The Omega Book Club series can each be read as standalones in an interconnected series though.

We are welcomed back to the small-town of Lakeside Point, and even better it’s Christmas time! Our story takes us back to Rose, who we have met in past books, she’s an unofficial member of the Omega Book Club as she is a beta. Or is she. Rose has a secret, one that she has kept in hopes of keeping her horribly controlling family away from her. She’s not a beta, she’s an omega. In hopes of keeping her secret, takes an experimental drug in order to suppress her true self and to stay hidden from her family. But now the secret is out, now they have found her, and she doesn’t know what to do. Rose doesn’t want to leave her life, she loves her friends and her small-town, she loves the life she has made for herself, but her family has found her and they don’t take no for an answer. Just when all hope seems to be lost Rose learns of the Sterling Pack and the problem that they face, maybe, just maybe they can strike a deal.

The Sterling Pack is facing a dilemma, they must bond with an Omega by New Year’s Eve or risk losing everything. When they meet Rose, they think she is nothing more than a beta willing to help them out of a tough spot, not that she could, they need an Omega, not a beta. When she tells them her story, that she is an omega, her real identity, it sounds like the perfect solution. They get the omega they need, and Rose gets the protection of the Sterling Pack. It’s a win win. As Rose slowly comes off the effects of the drugs, and her omega reveals herself, it becomes clear that the new pack’s plan must change, Rose isn’t just any omega, she’s their scent match.

Together Evander, Kai, Logan, Harlan, Wyatt and Rose build relationships with one another. Kai and Wyatt finally find one another, and of course Evander and Logan. I love how the guys each have a special relationship together as well and not just for the spicy bits. It makes them more vulnerable in a way, and I think Rose needs that from her pack.

What a lovely, cozy Christmas read! I really enjoy it when a book can give the reader a little bit of escapism and this cozy small-town in Michigan makes for the perfect place for that. As more and more of Rose’s back story is revealed, and how she knows not one, but two of her new Alpha’s, the plot really starts to unfold and when it finally ends I find myself wishing for more and more. I love this series and all of the many many characters, I am both excited and sad to have only one book left.

REVIEW:🏒 Cedar Bluff Penalties 🏒

First and foremost, holy freakin smokes! You want a book that is going to spark a little sumtin, sumtin, this is the read for you. OTP is a MMF hockey romance featuring a single black cat mom and two very different guys that she falls for. Check your trigger warnings before reading, some topic on and off page.

Frankie is your average Mom, doing her best with what she’s got, and truly what she has are two very wonderful children that know they are loved and a support system she doesn’t even know she had. After returning to her hometown after years away, she is finally getting her life back to where she and her kids feel safe. And safe is the hockey rink with the beer league and her regulars. Enter Elliot and Travis.

Elliot is a golden retriever, with a nickname like Sunshine how could he not be. He’s giddy and upbeat, always willing to help others and spread a little joy. He’s a firefighter with a hero complex, but what firefighter doesn’t have one of those. But like every person, he too has his own struggles and with the help of Travis and Frankie, those struggles just might not be so bad.

Travis is the grumpy silent type. He’s big and broad, and tougher than anyone, he hides his emotions well and always seems to know just what to say when the people around him need him. He is a protector to his core and loves to work with his hands, so as a contractor that works well for him.

Together this trio makes a new family, but with every family there are growing pains. Not to mention a terror from Frankie’s past makes a reappearance, one that will take all of them together to face, and beat.

What a freaking book this was! This isn’t some soft afternoon read friends, this is emotion, this is spice, this is love. Frankie, Elliot and Travis’ journey isn’t an easy one, each of them has their own insecurities, and even more so as a group, they have to keep constant open communication, they are all learning how to be together. The depth between Travis and Elliot was probably one of my favorite parts of this book, the vulnerabilities they each have, but their willingness to open up to one another with Frankie as their conduit was simply breathtaking. There is much emotional baggage from all three of the throuple throughout the book, but it is well paced and the storyline flows unbelievably well. As always with this author, you can count on the best spice there is, and that holds true with OTP as well. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this series!

REVIEW: FILTHY LITTLE WITCH is the first instalment in Jena Doyle’s contemporary, adult ROYAL HARLOTS MC: ASHEVILLE NC dark,erotic,paranormal/ fantasy romance, a part of the multi-authored RHMC, a spin off set in the RBMC worlds. This is witch Marta McDonnell-Ruiz, and step-brothers, warriors Wesson and Atlas Colt’s storyline. For fans of the RBMC and RHMC, there is a slight cross over with the RBMC and a cameo by Peter Hellsing (Hellsing’s Grace).

The relationship between Marta and the Colt brothers begins acrimoniously as Marta blames the Colt brothers for the death of her parents but fate has forced the trio together wherein love will blossom between not only Marta, Wesson and Atlas, but between the step-brothers as well. The $ex scenes are provocative, erotic and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are energetic and colorful including several members of the RHMC: Asheville, a coven of witches, and their fated warriors. We are introduced to RHMC: Asheville president Lilith, VP Circe, Marta’s best friend and fellow witch Bridget, and Marta’s grandmother Tita, as well as a cameo by Peter Hellsing.

FILTHY LITTLE WITCH is a story of power and control, magic and darkness, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is dark, dramatic and gritty; the romance is edgy; the characters are powerful, determined and dynamic.

REVIEW: 🌵💞Because WHYNOT? 💞🌵

Cactus Heart is the first installment in the Whynot series by Clio Evans. This book had me in an absolute state as soon as it hit my Kindle. A small-town, why choose, brothers besties romance, sign me right the heckie up! This is a queer romance friend, if that’s not your cuppa…well you know what to do.

Now I’m sure you’re thinking, “what a weirdo this chick must be..” Why yes, I live in all things “weird” but so does our main girl Avery. Avery is a Whynot native and surrounded by her two older (and far too over protective) brothers; Austin and Dallas. (I so hope they get books btw) She is a free spirit, a painter, a woman who knows what she wants, but also a woman that no man in the state of Texas is allowed to date. After moving back to her small-hometown of Whynot, and an end to a VERY bad relationship, Avery is more than ready to get on with her life, even if that means she has to be single forever.

Well life has other plans for her.

Levi is a hockey player, good at his job, but utterly miserable. When he finally decides he needs a break, he packs up and heads to the one place and the one person who still means something to him. Whynot Texas and his childhood friend Austin. When he arrives into town, he is surprised to find not one, but two people waiting there for him. Mateo is a local hero, a fire fighter and all around good guy, not to mention he’s been in love with Avery since he laid eyes on her two years ago. Afraid to go after the woman who is his best friend’s little sister, he stays close to her in the only way he can, as a friend. When the addition of Levi arrives in the small-town, it gives him the nudge he finally needs to make his move on Avery. But Avery isn’t the only one he wants now. He wants Levi too, and so does Avery.

What a read! I loved this story so much. There is drama, there is pain, there is growth, there are tears, and oh my gawd there is spice! The characters’ relationship with each other, the way they learn to open up to one another and be vulnerable, to share their secrets, their wants, then communicate in a way that allows them to come to a consensual place for their sexual wants and needs. (kinky spreadsheets anyone?) Each of the three have their hang-ups and trauma, each needing something from the other and willing to learn and grow together. Mateo, Levi and Avery really make up a beautiful throuple together and make for an even better read. Along with the fantastic BDSM scenes there is also the family drama from Avery’s Mom and brothers, her grief from her father and don’t forget about Levi and his soul searching as I like to call it. All this culminates in a wonderful HEA that just brought such delight to my soul. Here is hoping the rest of the series can top Cactus Heart.

REVIEW:🥀🥀🥀 OMEGAVERSE AT ITS BEST 🥀🥀🥀

Book two in the Royalverse series by the ever talented Ari Wright, is the next adventure in this omegaverse series. This is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, just with a darker twist. Each book can be read as a standalone in the interconnected series, but as always I do recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of it. Also, check your trigger warnings, most is off page, but there is talk of different trauma.

Briar Rose (Love the name) is a former prima ballerina and current caged bird. A pawn to her father, abused, experimented on and finally sold off. Sold by her father (i use this title loosely) after he no longer sees her worth anymore, sold to a man that may not be any better than Daddy dearest.

Cillian Blackwood, a name as dark and ominous as he is. He needs a wife, and Briar will do as well as any other. After their marriage ceremony, they return to their new home together, little does Briar know that it’s not just one beast she has married, but a whole pack of them. Cillian, Dane and Rhys are feral, dangerous alphas that make up the Blackwood pack, each with their own damage and trauma, each needing Briar in a different way. Cillian marries Briar with a secret, a secret from her and a secret from his packmates, one that he isn’t willing to share just yet. They have an agreement in place, none of them can touch Briar without her consent, but what happens when it’s made clear that the pack needs an heir? A new agreement is made and all hekie breaks loose. Briar slowly opens to the pack, learning what she can pull and what she can’t. Dane is quiet and closed off, with his mask covered face and soft eyes. Rhys who suffers from horrible headaches, his venomous personality one that only Briar can tame. Then Cillian, with his quiet control, he hides secrets in his room that he can’t wait to share with her. As Briar starts to spend more time with each alpha, she slowly starts to develop feelings for each of them, they speak to her in a way that she both loves and hates, but gives her something she has never had. A choice.

Holy Hekie!!

Talk about a spicy re-telling! Ari writes omegaverse like no other, her characters are fierce and protective, always fighting for what they want and always getting their HEA. Dane was definitely my favorite for the majority of the book, until we get more of the back story with each of the alpha’s and then I don’t think I could pick one. Each guy is so torn and broken in their own way, and each is only soft for their omega, this makes such a great read. I really have to give the author credit for where she goes with the plot for this book. I was pleasantly surprised towards the end and even happier when the bad guy gets what is coming to them. I can’t wait to see what re-telling we get next!

Vesper with her guys, Zaire, Oscar, Talon and Alex are a force to be reckoned with, with them together again they embark on their journey to find Luca and Vesper’s son. Of course there is the mystery of The Collector and where they will turn up. This book takes dramatic twists and turns to another level, through contained struggles and hardships, Vesper and her guys fight to find their happiness.

Vesper and her men grow so much throughout the two books. Character growth is always important, but when you have a reverse harem like this, it can get a little dicey, with so many characters, sometimes it feels like some get more than others. Not with Ms. Paige though, all of the fellas in this series really come into their own, not to mention Vesper. She is such a complex character, she is sassy and strong, but can be delicate and vulnerable with her guys. Truly a character to relate to. The storyline is fast paced, which is good because this series takes you through the emotions, but it just enhances the reader’s experience. When the ending finally came up, I was waiting for something else, but no, it’s just BAM it’s done, a little sad for that but excited for what will hopefully come next!

REVIEW:The lovely Ari Wright has graced us with the next installment in the MVP Pack series! As always, I recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of it, but each book can be read as a standalone in the interconnected series.

Bridget is an omega, a shy, sweet, kind woman who just wants to find her place in the world. Coming from a family that treated her unkindly, a society that degrades her body type and a near zero self esteem, she just wants freedom. She wants what all omegas want, a loving pack that will treat her with sincerity and respect, however due to her rather strong perfume she is labeled as “undesirable”. Enter the Locke Pack. Their pack has a reputation, and not a good one. When they offer up a fake engagement to solve their bad rep problem, Bridget jumps at the chance, but not everything is as it seems. Colt, Jesse, Dante and the newly added pack leader Adrian make up the Locke Pack. When they agree to this fake engagement, they think nothing of it outside of it being a means to an end. However, as time progressed they start to realize just how perfect Bridget is for them.

I loved the grovelling in this book! I have read my fair share of Omegaverse, and Ari Wright quickly became a favorite. Bridget’s character is so relatable to so many people nowadays, the way she struggles to come to terms with herself and that this pack does truly want her makes the story that much better of a read. Colt had me wanting to smack him at times, and Adrian is definitely my favorite, but each of the guys had something that Bridget needed to feel complete.

Overall the plot was fun and easy to keep up with, the characters relatable, the spice perfect. For readers that enjoy the world of Omegaverse, this is the series for you.
