This is club president Lucifer Holland, and bartender Jess’ story line. LIFE OR DEATH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lucifer and Jess) LIFE OR DEATH follows in the wake of a fire that left our heroine fighting for her life. An attack on a club owned bar resulted in a fire, and Jess married to the man she blames for destroying her life. Weeks of recovery and therapy are met with antagonist backlash but Lucifer is determined to prove he is worthy of her love.

The world building focuses on healing and acceptance, as Lucifer keeps their relationship a secret from the men he commands. From hospital to her apartment, and eventually the Fallen Demons MC clubhouse, Jess must learn to navigate a new world, a new job and a new future.

The relationship between Jess and Lucifer begins acrimoniously. Jess blames Lucifer for several negative events in her life but it is Lucifer who finds himself paying for his sins in more ways than one. Lucifer lost his heart to Jess months earlier, but it will take time for Jess to heal, and accept a new direction in life. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include several members of the Fallen Demons MC including the return of Della and Shadow, and the introduction of Jess’s friend and co-worker Tori.

LIFE OR DEATH is a story of secrets and lies, healing and acceptance, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is fast paced, edgy and dramatic; the romance is fated; the characters are dynamic and desperate.

REVIEW: THUNDER is the first instalment in Elizabeth Knox’s contemporary, adult SHOTGUN SAINTS MC: KINGS OF THE ROAD erotic, cowboy, MC, romance series, a spin off set in the author’s SHOTGUN SAINTS world, which in turn is set in the Reaper’s Rejects Worlds. This is SAA Thunder, and twenty-two year old, cattle breeder Presley Hutchins Lyle’s story line. THUNDER should not be read as a stand alone, it is recommended to read Presley’s novella, found in the SHOTGUN SAINTS MC: The Complete Series boxset, as well as PHANTOM book three. If you have not read either story line, there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Presley and Thunder) THUNDER follows in the aftermath of an attack on the Shotgun Saints MC. Thunder is in recovery with bullet wounds inflicted months before, while Presley struggles to find a place with the family that knew nothing about her existence. Working for the Shotgun Saints MC cattle breeding program, Presley finds herself on the outside looking in but for one man who is struggling to accept he is no longer able to do his duties to the club . An organization known as The Firm is taking aim, and the Shotgun Saints MC may be facing their most dangerous foe to date. Meanwhile, Presley and Thunder’s relationship crosses the line of no return, and with it, incurs the wrath of the man in charge.

The world building focuses on animal husbandry, the rejection by family for a perceived betrayal, and the protection of the members and their family of the Shotgun Saints MC. We are witness to rebuff of an innocent woman caught in the crossfire between family members, and the search for a woman, everyone knows is dead and buried. The original conflicts continue into the new spin off, conflicts that will pit the members against a foe they can not take down.

The relationship between Thunder and Presley is one of the forbidden. Presley is the youngest daughter of MC president Phantom, and as such, is off limits to the members of the MC. Thunder is a single father whose attraction to Presley has been stifled by a possible career ending injury but Thunder is determined to work-through the pain and humiliation as watches from the sidelines as the woman he loves suffers at the hands of the people who refuse to accept her existence. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is another large ensemble cast of familiar, colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters, most of whom we met in the original SHOTGUN SAINTS MC series including president Phantom and his wife Marlena, road captain Banshee and Bex, Shadow and Grace, Rogue and Hadley, Phantom’s son and Presley’s half-brother Shiver (Reaper’s Rejects MC), as well as Spur and Dakota, and Thunder’s daughter Raine.

THUNDER is a fast paced story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, family and rejection, acceptance and love. The character driven premise dramatic and edgy; the romance is limited but seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and a little bit broken.

The relationship is one of the forbidden as Liam broke the proverbial bro-code by dating/ sleeping with his bandmate’s sister.Shamed into rejecting our heroine, Liam finds himself on the outside looking in when he realizes he made the biggest mistake of his life. Harper fell in love with her brother’s friend years before but their futures went in different directions, and Liam only saw Harper as his teammate’s sister. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are limited but charismatic. We are introduced to Harper’s mother who struggles to let go, and the return of Liam’s bandmate Casey.

SILVER BELLS, SINGLE BED is story of family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is familiar, fast paced, engaging and entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic and lively.

The relationship between Nico and Anna is tempestuous at best. Anne blames Nico for her father’s death, while Nico’s guilt allows Anna access to destroying what’s left of his heart. Nico fell in love with our heroine years before but Anna is unaware of Nico’s connections to her father and their past. The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative.

The secondary and supporting characters are questionable and defiant. We are reintroduced to Stefano, Vitale, Lorenzo (Enzo), as well as Anna’s father Juan Vales, her long suffering mother, and Nico’s housekeeper Magda.

REVENGE ON THE MAFIA is a slow building story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, murder and retribution, power and control, dysfunctional family dynamics, acceptance and love. The character driven premise dark, gritty and dramatic; the romance is edgy and intense; the characters are desperate, determined and broken.

Walking the halls of my high school after two decades reminds me why I’ve blocked those years from my memory. The walls hold secrets but perhaps none as potent as the woods behind the school where a life ended too soon.

I wasn’t able to make a difference then. But I’m not a frightened kid anymore. Bullies no longer scare me. It’s time to deliver long overdue consequences to those who have never been held accountable for their actions.

With my pack of wolf dogs and this blindingly bright fake boyfriend at my side, nothing can go wrong.

REVIEW:Rhodes is a sharp, satisfying little novella that digs into the kind of unfinished business most of us would rather leave buried.

The premise alone had me hooked…. Rhodes now an adult has returns to the halls of his old high school, (school reunion) but he’s no longer that scared kid who once watched something terrible happen in the woods behind the building, and who has decided the people responsible have coasted long enough without consequences. (You need to read to find out what it was 🫣)

That quiet, simmering rage is what drives the whole story, and as usual this author handles it with the same unapologetic edge that runs through the rest of the Van Doren books. And I loved it.

Rhodes arrives with his pack of massive wolf dogs animals that feel less like pets and more like living extensions of his will, and don’t forget Bennett (a fake boyfriend who is clearly there to serve as both cover and complication. 😜)

The dogs are pure chaos in the best way….. they give the quieter moments a feral energy that keeps the tension from ever fully settling. The fake boyfriend setup, meanwhile, starts as pure practicality and slowly reveals itself as something warmer and far more interesting than either man planned, (they remind me a little of Loren/Oakley)

The novella moves quickly, balancing the darker undercurrents of past trauma and present day reckoning with the kind of charged chemistry we have come to expect.

There is heat, there is possessiveness, and there is that particular Van Doren brand of loyalty that borders on the unhinged.

Yet the story never loses sight of the story, a man who has carried guilt and helplessness for twenty years finally deciding he is strong enough to do something about it.

Because it sits inside the larger family web, there are familiar faces and the comfortable sense of an established world, but the book still works as a self contained story.

If you already enjoy the Van Dorens, especially the protective, slightly feral energy that surrounds them, this one will have you smiling.

I finished it wanting more time with Rhodes and his strange, devoted little family of dogs and chosen people, which is exactly the feeling a good novella should leave behind.

All of her RH relationships end up being heavily polyamorous – meaning it’s not just all the men for one woman. There’s also some M/M action going on. When she can’t fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center – and utterly swoon-worthy! Don’t ask her how many book boyfriends she has…

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don’t even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Working for Julian merits Harper a few perks including game night tickets but it is Harper’s ability as a former customer service agent that will garner surprising results for both team owner Julian and the New York Vipers PR machine. As Julian and Harper’s relationship turns into something more, Harper finds herself on the outside looking in as Julian struggles to let go of the past.

The world building focuses on the discrepancy between the have and the have nots. Julian is a billionaire businessman who wants for nothing but love, and Harper is struggling to ensure she and her brother have food for their next mean.From the hockey arena to private jets, late night dinners and island getaways, our couple begin to explore the possibilities of their own happily ever after but Harper will be cast aside as the ghost engulf our story line hero.

The relationship between Harper and Julian begins as a business arrangement when Harper is hired as Julian’s driver. Harper is well versed in customer service, and will come to the proverbial rescue as Julian’s PR team struggles to keep ahead of a potential scandal. Julian begins a slow seduction of our story line heroine but his heart refuses to move forward, essentially destroying any chance for happiness with our story line couple. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are limited but engaging. We are introduced to Harper’s seventeen year old brother Dylan, and Julian’s butler aka housekeeper Percy, as well as the return of professional hockey player James ‘Grizz’ McAvoy.

JULIAN is a story of loss and grief, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is edgy and emotional; the romance is seductive and edgy; the characters are determined, sassy and charismatic.

The world building focuses on second chances, perceived betrayal, a trek across the ocean, and a secluded island hideaway but Anya struggles to see past the secrets and lies, and Jetmir is unable to let go of the woman he loves.

The relationship between Anya and Jetmir is a rekindling romance. Anya and Jetmir were madly in love but when the truth was revealed about Jetmir’s true identity, Anya struggled to move on from the deceit and betrayal. Jetmir knew the only woman he would ever love is a woman struggling with our hero’s lies, lies perpetrated in the name of ‘love’ . The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are angry, determined, brooding and energetic. We are reintroduced to Anya’s parents Raphael and Sailor, Jetmir’s sister Elira,and their parents Giovanni and Liana (Thorns of Blood 5).

This is thirty-five year old, single father and regional director of Purity Hotels Everett Hale, and twenty-nine year old, former professional surfer Rowan Delaney’s story line.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Rowan and Everett) THE SUMMER BETWEEN US follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. Rowan Delaney is a former professional surfer who, one year earlier, was forced to quit, due to a career ending injury . Living and working in Hawaii is the perfect setting for peace and tranquility for Rowan but the appearance of a lonely teen from New York, pushed Rowan to rethink what she wanted in life including the young girl’s workaholic father whose own goals differ from the women in his life. As the regional director for Purity Hotels, Everett Hale is used to order and perfection, and the newest hotel in Waikiki is the perfect foil to advance Everett’s career but Everett’s career has come at a cost-his thirteen year old daughter’s loneliness and need for her father is overshadowed by Everett’s busy schedule and the ever present cell-phone attached to his ear.
