Lucien “Luc” Flynn is a dashing 19th-century privateer (or is he a pirate?) who’s lived fast and loved freely, until a scorned lover hits him with a devastating curse… he’ll exist as a specter until he earns the genuine love of a truly heartless woman!
Decades drift by in ethereal limbo, and Luc has all but given up hope. That changes when he encounters Grace Thibodaux, a fiercely independent woman pouring her energy into restoring her rundown plantation home.
Grace has been burned badly by love before, swearing off romance and building walls around her tender heart. But Luc haunts her dreams and her waking hours. Is he a figment of her imagination, a charming rogue in disguise, or the real deal?
As their connection deepens, Luc must navigate the curse’s impossible demand without losing his heart, or his chance at a real life.
The story builds beautifully, mixing ghostly encounters, steamy tension, and heartfelt moments. I liked how the author weaves in Creole culture, plantation life, and high seas adventure without forgetting the romance.
And those twists? I genuinely didn’t see a few coming, they hit like a rogue wave and left me grinning.
Luc is the perfect antihero, witty, sexy, and surprisingly vulnerable under that pirate swagger. But you do have to dig deep 😜
Grace is both strong, but vulnerable, and I liked how she didn’t give in too easy.
Their chemistry crackles from the first moment!
I liked the curse element in the story, adds real stakes and humor. Watching Luc grapple with “How do you win a heartless woman’s love?” was both poignant and fun.
The author threw everything into this book, emotional punches, unexpected reveals, and a knockout ending that surprised the heck out of me (in the best way). No sagging middle here, it kept me turning pages late into the night.

I’m hoping this isn’t the last we see of Luc, I’m hoping there will be more in the Corsair’s Tale series. 🤞
Highly recommended for anyone craving a cursed hero, a big hearted heroine, and an ending that’ll make you smile.
