ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 18, 2026

Sam Wick infiltrated the world’s most dangerous prison. Now he has to survive it.

Sam Wick didn’t surrender to Colombian police by accident. La Modelo prison is exactly where he needs to be. Somewhere beneath the blood-soaked concrete lies Program Martyr—a black site operation turning condemned men into sleeper agents. Wick’s mission: infiltrate, expose, destroy.

But first, he has to survive the war for La Modelo’s throne.

Torres controls the North Block with an iron fist. El Coyote wants to take it from him. Both are killers commanding armies of loyal inmates. And caught between them is Alice Wood—the American journalist the world believes walked free, now Torres’s captive for three months.

When Wick saves Torres’s life to gain access, he triggers a power struggle that threatens to consume the entire prison. To reach the underground facility, he’ll have to play both sides, orchestrating chaos while staying alive long enough to complete the mission.

Six men dead in the showers. A wrist broken in front of five hundred witnesses. An alliance forged in blood and lies.

In La Modelo, trust is the most dangerous weapon. And one mistake means death.

REVIEW:WICKED ESCAPE is the fourteenth instalment in Chase Austin’s contemporary, adult SAM WICK UNIVERSE dark, military thriller focusing on operative Sam Wick. WICKED ESCAPE can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise including graphic violence, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Sam Wick WICKED ESCAPE follows rogue operative Sam Wick as he battles to survive a notorious Colombian prison where secrets are buried beneath the prison floor. The prison is no longer under the control of law enforcement but by killers and assassins who rule with a death grip, power and intimidation. At every turn, Sam finds himself both the predator and the prey but several undercover agents have infiltrated the walls of La Modelo prison, and Sam must uncover who has been sent to kill, and who has been sent to survive.

The world building is dark, complex and graphic as Sam Wick, now known as Lucifer, must navigate a corrupt system both inside and out. A fight for power within the walls of La Modelo prison finds Sam Wick in a fight for his life but a potential rescue is not in the card.

There is a slight cross-over with lead characters from the author’s Aria Hunt, and Axel Monk worlds. FBI Agent Aria Hunt was previously introduced in an earlier instalment, while Axel Monk is working undercover to save the life of our story line hero.

WICKED ESCAPE is a detailed, dramatic, and startling look at a corrupt prison system where the inmates are in control. The premise is an introspective look at one man’s fight to survive as he completes a mission no one wants him to complete. WICKED ESCAPE ends on a cliff hanger, you have been warned.

Heed the trigger warnings-the graphic violence is not for the weak or sensitive reader.
