ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 16, 2026

When I escaped to a Scottish island, I never expected I’d agree to a marriage of convenience with rugged local businessman and single dad, Murray Shaw.

That was before my dangerous ex started threatening me and my visa. The thought of being kicked out of Scotland, leaving behind my friends and the safety I’ve found here, is unthinkable. I’m determined to solve the problem myself. Everyone knows Murray is battling his ex-wife for control of his company and the only way to stop her is to remarry. So I propose a marriage deal that’ll solve both our issues. The fact that I’ve been attracted to the handsome, gentle giant of a Scot since we met is something I’ll just have to ignore if I want to remain in Scotland.

But marriage to Murray is proving to be complicated. Living under the same roof is a far bigger temptation than I anticipated. Beneath Murray’s reserve is a passionate nature that stokes the fires of my own. Soon we’re fighting a searing attraction and an intense emotional connection that’s as thrilling as it is terrifying. After my last disastrous relationship, I don’t trust myself enough to admit there’s far more than physical desire between us.

Yet when Murray finds himself caught in the grasp of a criminal organization intent on using his business for their own means, just as my ex decides to intensify his harassment, I realize there’s no denying that what I feel for my husband is a life-changing kind of love.

However, just as I begin to trust myself enough to give our marriage a real chance, danger rushes to our shore on rough tides, submerging us in a battle that might tear us apart forever

REVIEW:TWILIGHT TIDES is the third instalment in Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult SCOTTISH ISLES erotic, romantic suspense series. This is thirty year old American chef London Wetherspoon, and forty year old, businessman and single father Murray Shaw’s story line. TWILIGHT TIDES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there WILL BE triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (London and Murray) TWILIGHT TIDES focuses on the marriage of convenience between thirty year old American chef London Wetherspoon, and forty year old, businessman and single father Murray Shaw. Approximately eighteen months earlier, London Wetherspoon ran from an abusive relationship, landing in Scotland where she was welcomed by friends with open arms but London’s visa was about to expire, and her ex boyfriend continued to threaten her life. Meanwhile, single father Murray Shaw was battling his ex-wife for sole custody of their fourteen year old daughter when London made an offer he could not refuse-a marriage of convenience that should hopefully fix both of their problems but for all intents and purposes, it made everything worse. Often feeling lonely, a stranger in her own life, London believed she made a mistake, and the man with whom she was falling in love, was struggling with the fall-out of his own life.

The world building focuses on the building but trepidatious relationship between our story line couple as both struggled to trust, or accept the other in the life. Having been burned once before Murray kept his distance unintentionally alienating the woman that called to his heart but all was not well in the Scottish Isles, and Murray found himself facing threats that were spiralling out of control.

The relationship between Murray and London worked on paper but was structurally flawed. Murray’s fourteen year old daughter saw London as a threat, and Murray continued to battle between head and heart having been burned once before. Refusing to add more pain to their situation, London was keeping secrets, secrets that threatened her safety, and her future with the man whom she loved. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

There is another large ensemble cast of colorful, animated and dynamic secondary and supporting characters, many of whom we met in the previous story lines. We are introduced to Murray’s fourteen year old daughter Kelly, and his ex-wife Jill, as well as London’s ex Nick Huston.

TWILIGHT TIDES is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, obsession and murder, family and friendships, relationships and love. The character driven premise is emotional, heart breaking and dramatic; the romance is impassioned and seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic.
