REVIEW: FRACTURED VOWS is the second instalment in the contemporary, adult DESECRATED LOVE erotic dark, Mafia romance trilogy set in the Gallo Mafia Empire, co-authored by Jade Marshall and Sofia Aves. This is the continuing story of eighteen year old Mafia princess Willow Hernandez, and twenty-eight year old, Mafia Don Raphael ‘Rafe’ Gallo. FRACTURED VOWS should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events of book one SPLINTERED VOWS.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Rafe and Willow) FRACTURED VOWS picks up after the events of book one . Willow is now married to Don Raphael ‘Rafe’ Gallo but our heroine is, herself, at the helm of her late father’s crime family, a position that should be ascended by her younger brother Roman. A series of betrayals, secrets, vengeance and murder threaten the tepid relationship between our story line couple, betrayals faced by several heads of the ruling crime families. With secrets of her own, Willow struggles with Rafe’s need to control, forcing our heroine to walk, leaving everything behind. What ensues is the ongoing and building relationship between Rafe and Willow, and the potential fall-out when the truth is revealed, and vengeance is taken out in blood and lives.

The world building continues to focus on the secrets that lay between our story line couple. Neither Rafe nor Willow is willing to reveal everything including the darkest corners that threaten their future or happily ever after, and in this , our couple find themselves in the direct line of fire. Betrayal comes from within, and Rafe is determined to protect the woman he loves.

The relationship between Rafe and Willow is a forced marriage in which our couple have fallen in love with one another but Rafe struggles to trust the woman he loves, a woman whose secrets are dark and disarming. The $ex scenes are erotic, and provocative including threesomes, and same sex scenarios (FF).

The secondary and supporting characters including Rafe’s sister Regina; his right hand man Dominic, and healer Thalia; security specialist Lady Sonja; Willow’s brother Roman, as well as the return of the head of the Irish mob Konnor Hennie, and his younger brother Devon. The requisite evil has many faces.

FRACTURED VOWS is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal, murder and vengeance, power and control, fractured family dynamic, acceptance and love.
