REVIEW: THE ENFORCER’S CLAIM is the first instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult RUTHLESS RULE dark, erotic Mafia romance series. This is Mafia enforcer Luca Santoro, and ER nurse Francesca Mancini’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Francesca and Luca) THE ENFORCER’S CLAIM follows Mafia enforcer Luca Santoro’s obsession of our story line heroine. Three months earlier, Luca Santoro landed in Francesca Mancini’s ER, and in the wake, our hero became obsessive about the woman he would call his own. Francesca felt she was being stalked, and an attempted robbery brought Francesca face to face with the man who would control her life. Luca Santoro is determined to claim Francesca, with or without our heroine’s permission but when his latest assignment goes wrong, Luca finds himself a target, and the trickle down targets the woman he claims to love.
The world building focuses on obsession and stalking, and one man’s determination to take control. Francesca finds herself at a crossroads, either direction ends with our story line hero, and in this, Francesca relinquishes control of her life to a man she barely knows.
The relationship between Luca and Francesca is a stalker romance: a somewhat ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ romance in which Francesca is caught between the proverbial roach and a hard place, knowing whichever way she chooses, Luca is not far behind. The $ex scenes are aggressive and intense.
Then secondary and supporting characters are limited. We are introduced to Luca’s boss, Don Marco, a man frustrated with Luca’s obsession with Francesca Mancini.
THE ENFORCER’S CLAIM is a story of obsession and stalking; secrets and lies, power and control, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and edgy; the characters are desperate and determined; the romance is subtle as the primary focus is on the obsessive nature of one man’s need to claim a woman he is desperate to know.

For weeks, Simone has been receiving questionable messages, threats from an unknown person but when the threats become personal, with pictures from Dominion’s private lifestyle rooms, Luc Pascal and the team at Rapier Strategic begin a deep dive into the people in Simone’s life. From disgruntled employees, Dominion members and Doms, to jealous family members, everyone becomes suspect as the threats against Simone become more dangerous and dark.
The relationship between Luc and Simone begins as a security detail. Simone has a stalker who has infiltrated the Dominion Club, and Luc is about to take is personally, declaring himself guardian and protector of our story line heroine. Always in Dom mode, Luc forces Simone to submit, a woman who is often TSTL in the face of the threats and danger to her life. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of energetic and colorful Armand Deveraux, Dom Julien LaSalle, club owner Margot, security specialist Remy, several board members including Patrice Moreau, Walter Brandt, Henry Castellanos and contractor Marcel Fontaine. The requisite evil has many faces.
DOMINION’S COMMAND is a fast paced, character driven story of betrayal and vengeance, jealousy and greed, secrets and lies, dysfunctional family dynamics, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and dramatic but there is some repetition and redundancy; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic
